Really fun small town general store. Everyone knows each other and are very friendly. Good meats, good butcher.

I love trying something different, and Tartaglia's Pizza did not disappoint! On my recent visit, I…read moretried their special with red sauce, organic spinach, mozzarella blend, andouille sausage, roasted red onion, red potatoes, Grana Padano, maple syrup, and ricotta. I'll admit, I was a little skeptical about the potatoes and maple syrup at first, but somehow it all came together perfectly. Honestly, my biggest mistake was only ordering one! The pizza was absolutely amazing and definitely one of those pizzas you keep thinking about afterward. The place itself is small, cozy, and welcoming, with a really nice outdoor seating area. The staff was very friendly, but what I especially loved was listening to them interact with their customers. I overheard someone mention that they've been there for about 10 years, and you can tell they've built some wonderful relationships with the people who keep coming back. I loved hearing the staff ask customers about their families and catch up with them. You could tell from the conversations that they remember not only their regular customers, but their families too. That kind of personal connection is something you don't find everywhere. Between the incredible pizza and the welcoming, neighborhood feel, this was such a great find. I can't wait until I'm back in the area to see what special they come up with next. Next time, though, I'm definitely ordering more than one!

We ordered 2 large pizzas around 8 pm so it was late and we were starving. When you're hungry…read moreanything tastes great. Not this pizza. It was tasteless, burned on the bottom (and not just dark but tasted burned) and felt like it needed more of everything, except time in the oven. How can a pizza not be salty enough? No flavor in the sauce and the cheese was some sort of cheap low-moisture part-skim mozzarella imitation blend. The pizzas were SMALL despite having ordered 2 larges and to top it off, they were expensive for what we got. You spend over $40 and you expect larger pies. These were the same size as most smalls you get; can't imagine how small their smalls are. Overall a bad experience, a bad pizza, overpriced and tip suggestions starting at 20% smh. Should've gone to Chesleys right down the street. Much cheaper and much tastier.

Rating: 4.3 Stopped…read moreby for lunch after gondola skyride at the my mansfield. Nice lunch spot in stowe that offers wood fired pizza using local ingredients. They have large parking lot so we parked and head on over to the entrance. It's amazing large establishment with wooden lodge style interiors and some outside patio seatings as well. They have a huge stone furnace for the pizza. We were sat down right away as it wasn't too busy. We got the pick two lunch where you can choose 2 between soup, salad and mini flatbread. I ended up picking vermont maple sausage flatbread and soup. Soup was tomato base with some cheese. Strong tomato flavor and some acidity with saltiness of cheese coming through. It was good but maybe a little bit of cream or milk might balanced it out better. The pizza was pretty good. Can see the char from wood fire. Saltiness of cheese and hint of sweetness and savoriness from maple sausage pairs well together. Dough was bice and chewy and crispy on the crust Service was good and server was nice and attentive. Overall it's a solid place to enjoy wood fired pizza made with local ingredients. Good place for lunch or dinner. If you go for lunch Monday through Thursday the take two lunch option is a good value.

If you don't like crowds though, be prepared - this is always a tight one. I love big crowds and busy spaces, personally, so I was in my element! * If you want a sitting spot (for example at one of the tasting room outdoor tables) the reality is that you'll have to show up at 10am or even before, for the 11am opening, and wait in line. Live music was on all day and it was fun to watch people in traditional costumes dance! I loved the merch this year! The Oktoberfest mug is beautiful. Also got a tile, tee shirt, socks, some cans... As for the beer offerings - I admit I am not a beer drinker. I pretty much only drink beer from Schilling - but I've learned a few things from them and going to their fests... I don't like pilsners and light beers at all, or any "fruity" flavors. I love IPAs, and I can do marzens and darker beers. There was 50+ breweries represented at this Oktoberfest, some from as far as Germany, and a couple of Quebec and Ontario breweries too! All volunteers were friendly and knew their stuff. Overall this was another great day, with once again the weather on our side. I attended with my boyfriend (on a designated driver ticket) and a friend from town, and we all had a great time! I'll be back for Oktoberfest 2027 :)

The beer menu is undoubtedly awesome even in a sea of awesome beer menus in northern VT. Given its proximity to hill farmstead, they get their share of beer connoisseurs here and no one walks away disappointed. Throw in the fact that they are kinda in the middle of nowhere and it seems impossible. Kudos to Parker pie for their beer procurement! The pizza this time was just OK. BBQ chicken had hardly any chicken but the crust was nice and crispy. My previous 3 visits felt like it wasn't quite as busy and the food came out better and hotter than this particular time. We went on a Thursday and it wasn't slamming but the back bar was pretty full and they had a parking attendant to help you get to a spot in the small lot. There was an open mic but no one stepped up while we were there. The back bar area is pretty tight. There is some outdoor seating as well. Everything was fairly clean and the staff were attentive and polite. In the end, I'm torn between 3 and 4 stars but am rounding up because the beer menu is so good. If you're in the area, it's definitely the place to be but I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to go there since it's a bit off the beaten path.

You'll see a general store - Parker Pie is the red building on the back side. It has lots of pluses. First, we enjoyed the open-mic night with live music on Thursdays from 6pm-9pm. Second, the pizza was OK but the salads were superb (the blue cheese was from Jasper Hill Farm in Greensboro, VT). Third, Hill Farmstead beers are on tap (which were very high quality). On the minus side, the "back bar" area had limited seating (it was quite crowded). Service was OK. You must order first and pre-pay at the front (giving your name and seating location), then wait for the staff to bring your pizza and salad to you. Be sure to pack your patience - it can take a while for the food to arrive if it's crowded!
