Previously boarded my horse here for about a year. Barn manager is very unprofessional and not knowledgeable about horses at all. A couple of times I have gone around feeding time as that is when I get off work and my horse was never fed hay or had 1 tiny flake but every horse surrounding her had a good amount of hay. The barn manager laughed about it when asked. My horse (a performance horse) begun losing weight/topline/dull coat when she was switched over to their grain (a basic 12/8 as most boarding facilities are). I reached out to barn manager and owner about providing my own grain as she was doing great on her previous and they gave me the run around and told me they would just feed her more of their grain. Before I moved my horse here I was told I could use any grain I wish. The pasture water troughs were hardly ever cleaned and were so thick with algae and dust. I sent photos to the owner and he told me they were cleaned every 2 weeks. I've had horses on my property for 20+ years and can promise you they were not cleaned for months. My horse had colicked pretty badly one evening and I was never notified. They had brought her in from the pasture and fed her an hour before I arrived. Thankfully I had gone to the barn that evening. It was a very obvious textbook colic that wasn't a sudden onset and the barn manager asked me "if I was sure." Thankfully I had my own trailer and was able to rush her to the vet. I was constantly hearing the barn manager talking poorly about boarders to other boarders. They have a strict no drama rule on their boarding agreement but apparently that didn't apply to the manager and certain boarders. My horse had to have a major surgery on her hoof resulting in losing 1/4 of her hoof and be on stall rest for an extended period of time and he tried to tell me she didn't need stall rest, my vet didn't know what he was talking about and she could go outside.
The amenities are very nice and the other workers were very kind to me and my horse. But ultimately I was treated as if I didn't know what I was talking about and management advertised to me that majority of their boarders don't know anything about horses. I don't appreciate the level of unprofessionalism I experienced and observed towards others when I always remained professional with them. This led to me moving barns to somewhere farther from my house but where I know my horse is safe and properly cared for. read more
