This is an ALDIs that's been around for quite some time that I don't think many people actually go to. It's kind of in the cut so if you don't know it's there you probably will miss it. Parking lot is abundant so you won't have any problems finding a parking spot. Even though it has been upgrade a little from what it was baking over 5-years ago it's still seems like it's smaller than the other (2) in the area. But with any ALDIs it's a great place to get some essentials and you can find some good deals on the ALDIs finds aisle for your home. I have found electric blankets for $20, great smelling 3-wick candles for about $4, and numerous other items that many would be surprised a place like ALDIs would carry. I can say that this ALDIs do have a few items in stock that I could never find at my go to ALDIs on SMOKETOWN. But maybe it's because I go later in the day? Not sure but either way I'll continue to come to this ALDIs when I'm coming home from work heading south on RTE 1! read more

Store was located where it was not seen right away from the street. The store was clean and I found what I was in the hunt to find.

I frequently shop at aldi in northern va but tried this one while in the neighborhood. Overall the store wasn't bad. Prices seemed even lower on milk and eggs! Score! Sometimes popular items run low or are non existent especially in fresh and refrigerator section. I have to scrape around to find my beloved Aussie yogurt and often find just one flavor. They do accept credit now but don't forget the credit company fees paid are passed on to the customers eventually! If you get a Canadian quarter from shopping cart, it wasn't mine. Stopped in here to pick up a few things on my way up to DC and had a good experience. Shelves were stocked, store was clean, parking lot is immense with tons of parking, prices were great, and the check-out was simple. I'd come back again if in the area. read more

This Aldi's is located in Gordon Plaza near the Salvation Army. The Shopping Center is not very inviting in general and is very dimly lit. The store was average. It didn't seem dirty, but it didn't seem clean either. Just average. They have a WIDE variety of things ranging from food to furniture to household appliances. Most of the items I saw were generic rather than brand name, but that's no big deal! Their prices are VERY LOW! I was surprised at how low their prices are for EVERYTHING. We didn't end up getting anything, but it was nice to walk around in and see what they had. The lines were long, and it seemed to stay long. You should definitely bring your own bags. I have been a customer of this Aldi for over 20 years. I have loved their customer service and prices. However,I have had about 5 displeasures in dealing with a little Napoleon complex having guy there who wears glasses. I believe he is a manager of sort. Every time I have politely asked him for assistance in finding merchandise, he has put in no effort to help me and told me to go elsewhere to find the items I have asked for. Today he was a cashier on another line& had to be the most obnoxious power abusive leader to his other cashier as he rushed him to count my change. He then later returned to mention I should have had my change organized,right in front of me. I walked off disgusted at how he was clearly disrespectful to me and to his colleague in front of other customers and myself. My man that rung me up deserves 5 stars however the ego tripping manager needs to be retrained for his own well being. He is very unprofessional and because I have dealt with it first hand directly for years with him. It is not the way Aldi should be represented as a company,let alone as my local market. To the contrary of most reviews on this Aldi I am very pleased and love this Aldi. The neighborhood is fine, it might be a lower income based neighborhood but it's mostly families that live and shop at this Aldi. Yes, the lines are long, there can always be more cashiers at groceries stores. However, unless you have Wegmans $$$ expect to wait. If you go in the AM instead of PM you WILL get fresh produce. My reason for is Selma and other employees! Selma was very helpful this past Saturday. She kindly asked if we meant to get a certain type canned corn (apparently a lot of customers get the cream corn when they don't mean to) and told us about a cheaper option to the 3-in-1 baby wipe packet we originally got. Every time we go there, we are met with kind workers that are more than willing to help. Overall, for the great customer service and pretty good prices they are worth every read more

I have been to many, many Aldi's... so this review is of this particular location, not Aldi's in general. This location: is not as well-lit as other locations, has sort of a rough parking lot that needs some TLC, the staff is friendly but they have such a high-volume of customers that most often they are just worn-out. Overall, though, I just love Aldi so much that it's hard to find any downsides, even for this spot. We save SO MUCH FRIGGIN MONEY shopping at Aldi's. This spot has a great selection of products and is always well-stocked. I love the "random stuff" aisle and always find some real gems in that aisle. Tips: -Bring your own bags. Everybody has reusable shopping bags these days. Bring them. Yeah, shopping bags are only 10 cents each, but come on, do you really need to buy them? Help out your homie, the environment. -Keep a quarter in your vehicle. Not two dimes and a nickle. Not two dimes and five pennies. A real quarter. For a cart. -If you see someone emptying their cart at their cart, offer them your quarter to take their cart off their hands. It will save them a trip back to the store and save you from jimmyin a cart off the cart stock. -Skip buying their version of "cold bags" and buy a real cooler bag so when you bag your own groceries you can package up all the cold goodies together. -Be friendly to the staff. This is my go-to! I pick up all of my staples from this store; you just can't beat the prices!! I know where everything is and I'm in and out! They check you out super fast!!! Don't let the drab look of the store fool you! Aldis carries quality food without the frills. There aren't many things I've tried that i didn't like. Now, everything is not an exact dupe to your name brand favorite, but that doesn't mean it's not good, just not the same. I saved so much money shopping here!! I'm telling you, when i go to other grocery stores i can't believe the prices; so many times I've been at another store and said "I'll get this at aldis because i know it's way cheaper." Only gripe, it would be nice if aldis updated the look of this store location. Aldi is a great place to stock up on staples; the stuff you need week-in, week-out. Most of their items are private label. I felt like I was in Twilight Zone the first time there, as they actually concoct fancy looking packaging and branding for their products, but it's all brands I'd never heard of. They also carry a limited selection of items, and most items come in only one size. Many items, particularly larger ones, are simply stacked in the cases on the pallets they arrived on, rather than arranged on shelves. Over the last couple years they've greatly expanded their selection of specialty items, such as organic, low fat/low carb and gluten free. They also have an aisle of random, ever-changing non-food items, often also private label. I've seen everything from electric hedge trimmers and torque wrenches to bike locks and iPhone battery cases Aldi's items are, for the most part, high quality, and competitive with whatever name-brand product whose packaging they're loosely imitating. My experience is that they're using the same suppliers all the other chains use for their private-label products. If you can live with the store brand whatever from your current grocery store, you'll likely be happy with Aldi's version. And Aldi reliably undercuts Walmart, and well, let's face it, Walmart is undercutting everyone else. As mentioned in other reviews, you need a quarter to liberate a shopping cart. You'll get it back when you return the cart. Coincidentally, there are zero carts in the parking lot or around town. Do yourself a favor and bring the reusable bags you guilted yourself into buying. Or liberate boxes from the store (a practice the staff condones) to carry your purchases. Payment is by cash, EBT or debit card, and they recently started accepting credit cards. Still no checks though. No dumb loyalty card. The entire business is built around minimizing your overall grocery bill, and basically everything they do differently from other grocery stores serves that end. read more

If you want to feel like an inmate going to commissary this is the grocery store for you! Don't believe the employee written reviews this place is AWFUL! You have to put a quarter in to get a cart. Don't have a quarter? Too bad! They have to make sure you don't go off stealing a cart and so the quarter system is a fool proof way. Because when I want to steal a cart my first thought is whether or not I'll lose a quarter out of the deal. Walk in and notice that there aren't any brands you would readily identify with. That's how they appear to be cheaper, it's all off brand. I came in for produce and I was viciously attacked be the swarm of fruit flies flying above the rotten, disorganized vegetation. Alas! I found a few halfway decent items and I'm ready to check out. After doing a cart switch because they know you're hiding some food on the bottom of the cart that you don't want to pay for (remember, you're an inmate/thief), they put your bare naked items back in the new cart because they don't carry grocery bags...at a grocery store. Don't complain just move along inmate. So I go to pay and surprise, surprise! They don't take credit cards in 2015. Ugh Aldi employees, have fun battling the fruit flies putting the food back. Aldi is great! While they don't have the greatest selection at times, I come here often for basic food items, like cereal, milk, produce, cheese, pasta, jam, crackers, etc., and the total is much lower than at pretty much any other grocery store. Pretty much everything is "off brand," but for the most part I find it hard to tell the difference. They even carry their own brands of things like soy and almond milks, and gluten free foods! The aisles are stocked simply--bottom shelves are often just pallets of goods--but the presentation at the store doesn't make or break the taste of the items. Cashiers are super efficient, and usually quite friendly. Just make sure you get a cart before you go in or you will have to catch all your groceries as they come off the conveyer. read more

Absolutely not. While it has been a couple of months since I've shopped at this location, I've noticed that it has gone downhill. I say this because I went in, had a list, and could not find 90% of what was on my list. I know what they sell at Aldi's, therefore I knew what I could purchase there. I had bell peppers and onions on the list. They did not have either. NONE. How do you not have onions??? And as I walked in, I noticed that the cereal area was practically bare. 2 boxes of a certain cereal, that's it? And many of the empty spots had loose foods and spills...I couldn't take it anymore and paid for what I had and left. Oh another thing....sweet corn (the one in the can)...all they had was creamed corn. Yeah, like soooo many ppl are buying that! read more

I love Aldi. I don't mind bringing bags, bagging my own groceries or bringing the cart back because the prices are phenomenal. They have the best produce that I've been able to find and they have a great selection of your basics. There aren't many registers open and the lines are usually long but the cashiers move very fast. I spend $40 a week on groceries here when I could spend $100 at any other food chain easily. Great place to shop read more

What's not to love about Aldi? You can get a ton of stuff for cheaper then Wal-Mart and it actually tastes good! Everything is done to minimize costs. The person who gave it a 1 star review has obviously never been to Aldi in their lifetime. -You put a Quarter in to get a cart. That way, they don't have to pay for a cart attendant. -They don't provide free bags. Either purchase them there, bring your own or use the boxes scattered throughout the store. -They don't bag your items. Gotta do it yourself. However, the line moves much quicker as a result. -The reason for the setup? Keep labor down, pass the savings onto the customers (which they do big time) Most everything is an off brand that Aldi's produces or distributes. Any brand that looks similar to the national one, but w/ a different name is more and likely the national brand. The national brand changes their name for discount chains so that their product is not perceived as having a lower value in other stores. Aldi's brand tastes good. If you don't like it, they'll provide you with a coupon to get something else in store. read more

I hope the store manager and the big boss know how valuable and special your staff is. They are the hardest working people and honest people I respect and love. I lost my wallet in this store without knowing where I lost it. Since I just went to a SunTrust Bank branch near by I got quite a large amount of cash. After I called all my credit cards' issuers and even freezed my credit scores from all three big companies, Experian, Equifax and TransUnion, I spent three hours waiting at DMV to get a driver's license replacement, I found a voice message on my cell saying they found my wallet at the Aldi store at Gordon Blvd. It was unbelievable to me. I had no problem claim my wallet back and wanted to thank the person who found it. She wouldn't take anything. I could not say "thank you" enough to that honest, kind person, but I would want to say to the manager of the store "what great staff you have in your store! " I am so proud of being living in Prince William County because the people here are wonderful! They are great! read more
