Having worked retail for over 40 years, I make a point to always be pleasant to the cashiers. For some odd reason, the employees working the registers at this store don't speak. This morning the bias was quite obvious. I said 'Good Morning', handed my recyclable bag to the woman on the register, I only had two items, so it was a quick transaction. Not only did I not get a 'good morning' back, my items were left for me to bag. I find it ODD that the hispanic gentleman behind me got a warm welcome, but for whatever reason, I did not. I don't like to use the term 'discrimination' but that seems to be a common practice at this store if you're a different race. I won't be shopping there again. There are plenty of other friendly stores in the area!

This is in the old Albertson space that's shared with L.A. Fitness. Parking is convenient and available. It's about the same size as Altamonte, perhaps a touch smaller. Yes they have meats here too (unlike the smaller Longwood store), but about the only meat I've purchased is beef shank, since they look OK and are a bit more reasonably-priced than grocery stores. This location also has a few more ethnic choices (other than Hispanic): you can get king mushrooms here, for instance. The only thing that I don't like is the check-out lines, which feel more cramped. I've only visited during non-peak hours; I can't imagine how chaotic it could get when they're busy!

We Sanfordite's, still call it the Albertsons Plaza even though they have been gone for a while now (Damn, I miss their fried chicken). What a great store! If you are looking for the oddball vegetable or seasoning that cannot be found at Walmart, Publix, Winn Dixie, or Aldi, then stop in here. We popped in to grab some eggplant for my special vegetarian lasagna and came out with four different varieties (I just could not stop myself). Some of the best deals today were: - Olive oil (3-liters @ $9.99). - Bulk rice (25lb's $10+) - Zucchini & Summer-squash, ($1.49 per lb.). - Bulk ground beef ($2.60 per lb.). Notable Items: - Root vegetables in stock such as malanga, yucca, jicama, radishes, beets, and daikon. - An array of cooked-tubed salami. - Tamarind galore. - A variety of sofrito. - Inspired Hispanic desserts, cakes, and cookies. Vegetable prices are slightly lower than what you would pay at the Super Walmart. However, some vegetables stacked in bulk, such as zucchini, summer squash, and other soft skin varieties, were past their prime. Some items such as pasta sauce (Newman's Own), canned diced tomatoes, stewed tomatoes, and stewed sliced tomatoes were almost double the price of what we would pay at Walmart. Ultimately, there is a lot to see here, and there are deals to be had, but it is best to come in and experience it for yourself. Some of the vegetables are hit-n-miss on quality, yet other vegetable's qualities are on par with competitors. Regardless, I appreciate an alternative to Walmart and other large grocers in the area.

Since we eat with our eyes, and we're fortunate to live in the US - the biggest and freshest and best-supplied breadbasket in the world - buying bruised & moldy fruits & veggies is simply no bueno for us. No reflection on this store - judging by their crowds, they do very well. It's just our personal preference. English is most definitely the second language in this store. We have enjoyed a few of the hot prepared food offerings. Our Espanol is virtually non-existent, so we point and purchase, and hope for the best when we get home. Other than a few poor selections we inadvertently made due to mysterious textures and strange flavors - and we've traveled the world and have enjoyed many foods & spices from Central & South America - for the most part we've been satisfied with our choices. The fresh-pack(?) pre-made hamburgers don't define the meat-to-fat ratio (no 70/30; 80/20; 90/10). On more than one occasion we found meat still for sale in the refrigerated case days after the sell-by date on the shrink-wrap. We feed our dogs raw proteins like meats & chicken & fish. The beef heart/liver/organ offerings are plentiful in the frozen food section. And their raw refrigerated chicken drumsticks are a good deal for our dogs too - usually $.89/# vs Walmart's $.99/# across the street. Beyond these few positives, frankly there's not much else we've found to our liking. We might spend more and rate this place higher if they had a few English-speaking employees who can help us by answering our questions. And if they sold fresher fruit & produce & meats before the posted sell-by date.

There is a mix of food and beverage, vendors, arts, benders health and wellness vendors. Would I really like is how friendly a lot of the vendors are. And that they work together. For example, hoots and Mary bread actually promotes the Sanford cheese stand. And vice versa. While this farmers market is very small, it still provides for the things that I could use at home. They do have a vegetable and fruit spender that has reasonably priced vegetables such as $5, a bowl for potatoes, the tomatillas, onions, squashes, and so much other things. Amount of samples for the fruit so you can try before you buy. They've got a plethora of Chili's to spice up your food. Plus this farmers market is inside of a park next to the fire station and across the street from the police station. So I've never felt more safe going to a farmers market in my life. Definitely one of the farmers markets. I'll be venturing to more frequently.

It's a little pricey, but the produce is all local, so the slight price difference is for a good cause! The cashier was friendly and made pleasant conversation about the products. I can see the appeal of this spot!
