Such a simple location. It's not the largest and it's absolutely doesn't carry a ton of products as others but it's always bustling. Came here on a Tuesday at 2pm. It was good energy for it being the middle of the day. But with that good energy, a lot of products I was looking for was out and they either hadn't stock them yet or they had to go back in the back to grab them. One of the aisles that was home goods and seasonal products were completely out. They brought out the boxes to restock but they were still wrapped up. Store was super clean other than that. Half the employees were great. The other half just seemed overwhelmed. It was quite odd. Parking lot wasn't great. Didn't check the back. Maybe there's more there? It was a miracle I found a spot. Every spot was filled with Aldi customers or other surrounding businesses.

It's a small one, but it is stocked really well. I like the one in La Mesa a little better. The parking here is completely bananas. I get anxious just thinking about it. It's ok if you are in the area and want to grab a quick bite, few yums, whatever is working for your mood. I love ALDI, it's a cool place to grab some really yummy stuff for a good deal. The staff is a little curt, but I feel like that's consistent at any ALDI I have ever visited.

I had a good visit at this Aldi on Balboa Ave. in Clairemont. The store was well stocked and the employees were friendly. I was pleased that they had almost everything in stock that I wanted to get. I picked up frozen Ahi Tuna steaks, hummus, love their hummus, organic multi-grain tortilla chips, fresh garlic, cheddar cheese slices., and among other things. All prices were very competitive and affordable. I check out at the register with a real human. It all went very well. The parking lot is smaller than others I have visited.

I miss shopping at Aldi's from when I lived in the Midwest. I was pretty stoked driving by this location while in construction for what seemed over a year!! Back in the day, Aldi's used to be cash only. I was surprised they now took debit/credit cards. I am so happy for that upgrade!! Aldi's offers groceries name brands to other unique brands we're not used to. It's a nice perk to hunt for something new and different. Aldi's is a smaller grocery store. They offer fresh produce, meat selections, dairy products, cereals, teas, coffees, breads, pastas, candy, drinks, frozen foods and much more!! Like any other grocery store, they have weekly ads so check that out for your discounts. Yes, their prices have gone up. You might be able to pick up something cheaper especially if it's on sale at a larger grocery store. However, I believe every single grocery prices have gone up!! You'll have to choose the items that fit your budget. Aldi's uses a quarter system for the return of their shopping carts. All carts are daisy chained together. A quarter releases one and returns the quarter when you put the chain back in. Cool concept to encourage shoppers to return the carts!!! Overall, a nice small store with ample inventory. A shared parking lot with other businesses. The parking situation can get tricky during peak hours!! Oh! The cashier scans all your food items. They do not bag it. You'll have to bag it at the counter a few steps away. I just take to the car. I put everything in bags there.

Nice new ALDI. Looks bigger than other San Diego stores. Rows seen wider. Same ALSI good deals.

Kudos to them all for their patience and hard work (mind you this isn't the most pleasant part of Clairemont).

They consistently carry some of the best-quality produce currently available from San Diego and the surrounding areas, thoughtfully curated with real care. Misses are rare, and when something isn't right, they always make it right. What really sets this place apart is the knowledgeable team. They can tell you not just what something is, but where it's from, why it's special, and even how best to prepare it if it's new to you. They know which watermelon varietals are sweetest (and why), which tomatoes are best for different uses, and how to guide you toward the best choice of the day. We also appreciate the simplicity of the space. It's clear the focus is on quality produce rather than unnecessary overhead or décor that doesn't add to flavor or nutrition. We come in knowing our weekly staples, and we always look forward to discovering a surprise treat or seasonal treasure to add to the basket. We recently lived in Spain for a year and deeply miss the fruterías found on every corner, places that genuinely support daily health and well-being. In the U.S., truly good produce can be harder to find, with so much emphasis on mass production and appearance over flavor and nutrition. The Fruit Stand comes as close as we've found to that European produce experience. We're grateful this place exists and grateful for the care they put into what they offer. Thank you for being here--and we'll see you next week.

How will I force myself to eat grocery store berries ever again??? It's a serious question. I saw they had some salsas and honey and other local items which is great. They do accept card payment and have outside bins set up with different selections too. Friendly staff and quick to help you. I'll be back.

Was so excited to receive my first delivery from Harvestly today in San Diego!…read more This was all the fun of the farmers market without the hassle of parking and the crowds! Delivery was seamless with a notification text communicating my estimated delivery time and another notification when the driver had arrived. Everything was packed nicely and made it to me in perfect condition. My items were still cold on arrival. Harvestly even include a reusable bag and ice pack. I got strawberry almond milk, green juice, hot sauce, mushrooms, and lettuce. All produce looked fresh and great. I was nervous to have someone else pick out my own produce but everything looks amazing! Can't wait to try all these items and figure out what to order next time!

And when that day arrives (don't worry, it will), you'll appreciate how lovingly your order has been packaged and safely delivered right to your door. With another lockdown looming, indoor shopping getting trickier, and challenges all around, it's good to know that Harvestly stands ready to help, as well as provide US with the opportunity to give back to our own local growers, community and economy.

There is a new market in Serra Mesa! It's where the old Henry's used to be located. It's right…read morenext to the CVS store. They probably just had their grand-opening this weekend because when I went in, they were still moving stuff around, and there was no sign of a restaurant yet. It's small, it's middle-eastern, and a definite good addition to this neighborhood. When they settle into their niche, I hope they do something about some of the prices. The store pricing was all over the map! Some things are comparably inexpensive, others quite high. Here's what I bought. Dried hibiscus flowers - This was the biggest score. At $0.99/bag, I see Jamaica in my not to distant future! Plus, it's very nice to have a source for this right near my house (Don't bother going there for just this - I bought out the stocks for probably a week!). Sriracha - 17 o.z. for $2.29. I'm buying, because that is cheap if you can't get to the Asian markets in town. Avocados - 4/$1.00, you cannot beat that! Unripe, but I'm patient. Plus, I got a few other spices, and oils that were priced fairly well. Here's what I saw and a general overall review. PRODUDE - Overall, fairly expensive but they did have some items (like the avocados) that were inexpensive. They had some great looking mint, dill and other fresh herbs. Key limes, Japanese eggplant, pickling cucumbers, plus all the regular stuff. The regular stuff (peaches, nectarines, carrots, celery, onions, potatoes, etc.) all seemed a bit pricey. MEAT - This looks like it might be their thing. I talked to the guy at the counter, just to see what kind of animals those were hanging (skinned, of course) in the windows behind him. Whole goat, whole lamb. I checked the tags too. Also for the exotic, they've got the organs! Liver, kidney, tripe, tongue, feet, head, you name it they've got it. Right there in the fresh meat rack. None of the meat is packaged either. They're definitely butchering somewhere there. Aside from the really fresh looking steaks and chicken they also had ribs, crosscut like the Korean markets. Nice. I was walking, so I didn't get much, but I will go back. GROCERY - Kind of limited, but I think they just opened. They had very good selection of middle-eastern spices, oils, and pickled stuff. They also have a lot of stuff you might need in a pinch (sugar, flour, tomato sauce, etc.). They have a few bins of bulk nuts, and lots of packages of mixed nuts, trail mixes and dried fruit. They have bread (expensive) and dairy items too (expensive also). DELI - It looks like they may have one later, or this is where the prepared meals (restaurant) will be, but there wasn't much happening when I went there. VIDEO RENTAL - They have a small section for that too. The people were very nice and there was certainly enough of them around. Way more than customers at this point. I hope they last in the spot. What I can't get at Santo's Mini-Farmers Market (see review below), I will get here. A welcome addition to the neighborhood! I'll bump to four-stars, if and when, they get some price consistency on grocery items and have some time to do, what it seems they want to do, with the place.
