Arnold Farmers Market - Some of the market goodies

Let me start off with things I like about this market. It's not as big as other markets, so you…read moredon't have to carry heavy bags while making sure you see everything! I think the vendors are genuinely friendly and want to make all customers happy! I even like the variety of vendors - today i saw someone selling woodworking items, there were jewelry vendors, delicious looking baked goods, farm fresh eggs, and a few selling produce. There was coffee, breakfast burritos, and was it all ever so tempting! There was a strawberry festival ending just as I came in, I'm sorry I missed the fun! It truly pains me to say what I don't love about this market. Nothing makes me happier than visiting a great farmers market! Here is what I don't like - the parking lot and walking path is horrible. The lot (both sides) was muddy and the path wasn't just muddy, but uneven. Of course it isn't the Markets fault that it rained yesterday, but I was worried that I might slip on the mud if I didn't walk carefully. The path to walk toward the vendors was muddy and full of rocks that created an uneven surface. All this means is that this isn't my favorite market in the area, but of course, when the weather has been dry, I'll definitely visit again on a Saturday!

The foodie in me is so glad this Asian supermarket exists!! I've come across a wide variety of…read moreAsian foods and goods in this store. They sell Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese, and goods from other Asian countries. I've recently found fresh and dry Asian noodles at the store for a cheap price, which cost 2-3x more money in other chain supermarkets like Walmart and Target, HUGE plus for World Market. What really took me off guard and surprised me was that they also make fresh and sell various boba tea and bubble waffles with and without ice cream.

Crying in HMart? Impossible in STL given that there isn't one here (@HMart I am begging you to open…read morehere), but World Market or Cho Quoc Te is a close alternative. Vietnamese/Asian supermarkets are very nostalgic to me from being the number one childhood activity with my mother, and World Market did not disappoint. Every bit of it screamed home to me, from the lingering smell of raw fish and plethora of seasonings to the 7356495 brands for the same jarred goods to the overfilled carts of every mom's meal prep for a family of 4+ for an entire week. The grocery store itself is about smaller to medium-sized and produce seemed okay. What was really fantastic about it was that it had a lot of other businesses incorporated inside of it -- a pharmacy, to-go food on the ready, a dessert bar, etc. I especially loved the premade meals, and they had great variety. Some notable mentions from picking up an assortment of things -- the pandan soymilk was solid; the che khoai mon (taro pudding) was good; the che banh lot (pandan and coconut milk starch pudding) was also good, and I appreciated that it was just banh lot with no extra accouterments; the pate chaud was surprisingly really good (not too peppery or salty, just perfectly buttery and flakey with the right amount of flavor). In addition to not having to hit triple digits for a small grocery run (which seems to be the case everywhere else), it was really nice having so many things available. I'll definitely be back here more often to try more of their premade dishes and for the serotonin.
