In terms of the cheaper end of the supermarket line, I think Aldi is the best. Lidl was ok when I lived almost next door to one,but I never find myself wanting to go now that i'm a few miles away from it. I used to like our branch of Netto (Now gone the way of Nu-Metal and dial up internet) because it was round the corner, and thus pretty handy.
If we are not doing the preverbial 'big' shop then we will always pop along to this branch of Aldi to get the few bits and pieces that we need, milk, sugar, eggs, human organs, that type of thing.
My main reason for going though is the Clarke's Bourbon that they sell. Out of all of the non main brands of this beverage that you can buy,Clarke's is by far the best, and at £11.49 it's quite a few quid cheaper than the top brands. Handy if you are an alcoholic on a budget!
I probably could do the majority of our shopping at Aldi, but I have a feeling that Mrs Z has been surgically implanted into that place where every little helps.
Disclaimer-I have been reliably informed that we get our human organs from Dr Bloodbath, and not Aldi as I first thought. I think they sell Lambs liver though. read more
