One of the best things about Aldi is their low price philosophy....Many of the items I buy at Aldi are private label, but after trying them out, most of them are as good as as the national brand. One exception is the ice cream....I tried their generic ice cream and I was not crazy about it, I usually shop for that somewhere else, but many of the ethnic foods they carry are very good quality and very low price. This store in Plantation is not as modern as other newer Aldi stores in the metro area, but they carry all the same items... I always bring a reusable bag for my groceries, but if I forget, I can always find some empty boxes that I can use as a vessel for my grocery items. The cashiers at this Aldi and all other Aldi stores are always so quick and efficient ringing the items and checking people out....they must be trained to be that fast....LOL...

I love shopping at this location! It's close and usually never busy. I shop here once a week on the weekends to get my usual grocery shopping done. The best part about Aldi's is the variety of products you can find here at reasonable prices. I like to buy my usual meat stock for the week here versus other grocery stores because of the price, and the quality is just as good. The shopping experience is different here from a regular grocery store as you are recommended to bring your own shopping bags (or you can pay 10 cents per paper bag). Additionally, to keep the carts organized and not scatter throughout the parking lot they utilize a system where you use a quarter to get your cart and to get it back just return your cart to the main corral. It's weird at first, but now it has become second nature to me! When checking out, it may seem daunting at first because the lines can get busy with only just a couple of cashier lanes open. However, I find that at the speed these employees are going- you won't be waiting that long at all. The employees here are helpful and friendly, so it makes for a pleasant experience here. I love this location, and I will continue shopping here as my regular go-to grocery store!

This is my go-to Aldi. Every time I'm here everyone that's working seems to be overly enthusiastic and excited. I have had to ask them a couple times where items were and the people stocking shelves were very quick to point me in the right direction. Everything here is usually some of the lowest prices that I see compared to other supermarkets in the area. I have even found knockoff Foods such as a generic brand Ritz crackers which honestly tastes better than the Ritz that I know. This place also sells a version of goldfish but they are in the shape of turtles and they taste absolutely amazing. The location is very easy to find and there is a very nice amount of parking so even on a busy day you shouldn't have any trouble finding a spot. One of my favorite things about Aldi is the fact you bag your own groceries so you can't get upset if someone puts an item on something you didn't want it to be. Will definitely be back time and time again!

Aldi's is the estranged brother of Trader Joe's. The abbreviated history is that Aldi's and Trader Joe's were owned by German brother's who fell out over whether or not to sell cigarettes. One headed the chain that became Aldi's and the other chain became Trader Joe's. While Trader Joe's has great prices, Aldi will beat them and just about everyone else's prices every time. You can still signs of that German heritage all over Aldi's like in their German line of products called Deutsche Kuche, which offers offers beer, chocolate, roasted coffee, and uncured Bavarian bratwurst. If you want to save money on groceries Aldi's is a great way to do it. In order to bring you those low prices Aldi's has instituted some cost cutting measures. If you want a cart you will need to bring a quarter and to get your money back you need to return your cart from the parking lot back to the store saving employees from having to collect the carts. You will also have to bring your own bags or pay for theirs. Lines will most likely be long because they keep their staff to a bare bones minimum. Best of all is the check out. To get people through the line more quickly they will literally throw your groceries into the cart they keep chained at the check out. You will frantically try to grab your items out but will never be fast enough. I used to just carry groceries around the store in bags I brought but getting my own cart has made the checkout process a lot smoother so now I always keep a quarter hanging in an Aldi's keychain made for that purpose attached to my purse. I shop at Aldi's at least once a week. Unfortunately the locations by me have become run down. I stopped going to one because every cart was broken. I have started trying different locations when I am out and lately it is this brand new store in Plantation on Broward Boulevard near the mall. They have all the latest and greatest products along with my standards which I can't live without like kale, salad mixes, prosciutto, French roast K-cups, pineapple juice, microwave brown rice, citrus green tea, and frozen fruit blend. This week I discovered Canadian Snow Crab Legs brought in for Valentines Day along with chocolate lava cakes, 7 Layer bars, Double Chocolate Belgian Waffles which are perfection with a scoop of their vanilla chocolate almond ice cream, Sarah's Sugar Cookie Dessert in a Jar, Deep Dish Chicago Pizza, chicken and cheese enchiladas, gourmet pork tamales, Dutch Crunch Sour Cream and Dill Kettle chips, cheese fondue, and Philips Crispy Dim Sum. When you find their seasonal or specialty products you have to jump on them before they are gone for good. Since this location is newer I find that they have a better selection of the seasonal products than other stores. The produce is also fresher and the store is very clean. I have a Mississippi roast in the crock pot for the week right now using an Aldi huck roast. You can really increase your Aldi's IQ by joining Florida Aldi Nerds! on Facebook which gives great information on how to stretch your food budget, new products, and recipes. It is where I found my roast recipe.

Grand opening day looked to be running smoothly. Shelves were well stocked and the aisles are wide enough for 2 carts to pass. Fresh produce prices are excellent and they have weekly specials too on many grocery items. Aldi has a cult following on social media and people are fun crazy. They "caw caw" in the stores to announce themselves to fellow Aldi fans. The AOS "Aisle of Shame" is where you find everything you never thought you would need, no less buy! The cart system is one where you put your quarter in to borrow and return the cart to get your quarter back. There is a "sneak peek" flyer at the exit door to let you know of upcoming sales for the next week. Sales start on Wednesdays. No self check out but the employees are super fast and don't forget to bring your own reusable bags or you can buy them for under $1.00 Run, don't walk to Plantation's newest grocery store.

I've only been to an Aldi once, years ago when they first initiated. I recently received a Grand Opening invitation to a new location in Broward. The coupon was for $5 off of $30 spent on groceries. The print on the coupon is very small & difficult to read. The store is in a nice location. When I arrived, a woman who had finished shopping, offered to let me use the shopping cart. Besides being nice, I soon remembered that you have to pay a quarter to use shopping carts there! Not a fan of that. The store is clean and organized. Prices very reasonable. Alot of unknown name brands. My groceries came to $45. I gave my coupon to the cashier. She stated that the coupon ended yesterday. I asked if an exception could be made since it was a new store and I had just gotten back in town from from vacation. She said no in a very impolite way. Based on that, I said I'm not impressed and that I probably won't be back!

This family owned farmers market is in it's own small building. It was very interesting to me because this is the first place I found that sells raw milk. It is not something I personally drink but advocates claim that the pasteurization of milk destroys the nutrients, enzymes, and good bacteria. Benefits of raw milk may include more nutrients, improved digestion, and enhanced immune function. Others believe that the benefits are outweighed by health risks associated with consuming raw dairy products. The raw products sold here state they are not for human consumption. In addition to raw milk they also sell raw milk kefir, raw yogurt, raw cheese, raw butter, and raw milk ice cream. Other products they sell include organic produce grown in Southwest Ranches, local honey, hormone free and grass fed meat and seafood, farm fresh eggs, bath and beauty products, bread, and fresh made key lime pies. Staff was on hand to helpfully answer customers questions. I do believe that food is medicine and that it can heal you. This market subscribes to that philosophy. It is a niche for people who don't mind paying more to know where there food comes from, want clean ingredients, or are into a particular lifestyle choice. If you are looking for a large selection or inexpensive prices, this is probably not for you but I enjoyed my visit.

They also have a section where the super ripe fruit is at a discounted price. I like that they do this to promote buying them instead of wasting it.
