They sell plants and flowers, but I didn't pay attention to that aspect of their operations. Cold Spring sells some of their own produce, products from other CT Farms and/or Orchards, Cold Spring branded products such as salsa, and other area products such as bread from a local bakery. I bought green cabbage, peaches, celery and salsa. Everything seemed appropriate quality for seasonal CT produce. The produce I didn't buy also looked good and represented what's in season pretty well. I will definitely go back for in season produce since I live in the area. This is an observation as opposed to a criticism. The reason I'm giving Cold Brook 4 Stars rather than 5 Stars relates to the extent of their offerings compared to another Farm Stand I frequently visit that's a bit farther away. That Farm Stand has a wide range of partnerships with high end CT businesses and they have things like high quality bagels, cheeses, pies, cupcakes, ice cream sandwiches, etc. That Farm Stand also has a wider range of canned goods, meats, and dairy products etc. I would travel farther to a Farm Stand like that because there are more products that interest me. Cold Spring will be the place I go for convenience when I want in season produce for a few days.

As they price individually and in sets, you may end up bringing home more plants than planned, but this is a good spot to get it all started. We now have a glorious set of tomatoes in progress, and now a couple extra tomato planters. The double decker wagons all over also help you take home more. The little farm store, extra colorful with its murals, has honey, maple syrup, salsa, and maybe more on down the season. It's neat to see start and end of season at the checkout, and the staff was kind. Thankfully there is extra parking is on both sides of the farm store, in case you're driving East, just look out for wagon traffic on your way through each greenhouse.

Parking was plentiful in the plaza. Once you walk in, you get that Asian market odor lol. There's a very clean, organized, and with lots of variety fish counter. I definitely would buy my seafood there. There were produce with a variety of different fruits and veggies that you can't find in your typical grocery store; I purchased some rambutan on this visit. There were seasonings, a small selection of noodles, and other products. It's not just Asian items but Latin, Caribbean, African, and more. There were dairy products and a bunch of snacks too. Service was good and it wasn't too crowded in there. Overall, a good spot to get some ethnic food items.

I looked online and found a 4 person filet mignon meal with a total of 4 sides, rolls and cheesecake. I selected it. They sent directions for pickup and cooking. They have their own wine and liquor store, plus a grab-and-go, buffet-style area with fresh, hot food. There is also an ice cream station with cotton candy and strawberry soft-serve, which is delicious. I especially love the cone cups because if the ice cream melts, it doesn't drip all over you. One of my favorite parts is the selection of pre-prepped meals you can take home and throw right in the oven, like Chicken Cordon Bleu and stuffed chicken with spinach and artichoke, along with many other options. It makes dinner so much easier. The only downside was that the avocados all seemed very overripe, so those probably aren't the best thing to buy here. Other than that, the store is well stocked and easy to shop in. I also really appreciate that they have real checkout counters instead of only self-checkout. The employees are friendly, helpful, and the service is good. Prices run a little on the higher side, but if you look around, you can definitely find some decent deals. Overall, it's a convenient and enjoyable place to shop, especially for the pre-made meals and family-friendly atmosphere.

Businesses like Sardilli's make Covid life much easier by bringing us top notch groceries in a safe setting and making dining at home all the time even fun. Sardilli's, which supplies restaurants in normal times, has pivoted to provide household consumers with CSA-style boxes of produce, dairy, and meat available for pickup weekly on Wednesday mornings. You can choose from a variety of options: fruit only, fruit and vegetables, berries only (which is great for my berry-eating two-year old), a dairy box, and meat box. Most innovative is the dinner box. Sardilli's partners with local restaurants to produce a family style meal for four for, I think, about $55. The Take 5 (a Hartford business lunch/ catering joint) box was a tremendous deal and was delicious--it included salad, Italian wedding soup, a rich and complicated chicken/ eggplant main course, pasta, and biscotti. The Max Downtown box--which sells out really fast--was also delicious and a great deal. The produce boxes also contain high-quality produce which is much more reliable than the quality you get from grocery store delivery or curbside pickup. The whole pickup process is smooth and efficient. You can find the weekly box contents listed on the Sardilli site or on instagram or Facebook.

There happened to be a bunch of info tents for local business and sports as well as Boy Scouts and other groups having fundraisers. The actual farmers market was very small sadly- two farms, a bakery stand and someone selling gems and playing guitar. This review is based on a visit on a Thursday afternoon; the market is open on both Thursdays (from 3pm to 6pm) and Saturdays (9am to 1pm) from mid-June through October. I was doing errands in the area and saw signs all over, so I decided to check it out. Saturdays must be the more popular and busy day, as there were only two vendors when I stopped on a Thursday. There was a local farm and a local florist. I thought that maybe I had missed it as there were only these two, but I knew it was the market by a replica sign to the street signs near the two tents set up on a small green strip in the middle of the parking lot square. The farm had a wide array of fruits and vegetables, with sweet smells--particularly from the peaches--wafting through the air. They had a great supply and selection. The florist, Jenny's Flowers (seasonal fresh cut flowers from East Windsor), was extremely kind and had unique floral arrangements. I purchased two dahlia flowers for $3 each, both of which came with their own glass mason jars. It seemed to be a reasonable price, especially as I could keep the jars. I have never seen a dahlia in person before, and the ones Jenny's Flowers had were absolutely gorgeous. The colors and varieties were beautiful. She had other types of flowers as well including multi-type flower bouquets and sunflowers. I asked how to care for the dahlias, and she gave me good, helpful instructions. Though I was very pleased with my flowers (and I did not need any produce), I am surprised there were not more vendors and a wider range of products. The website for this farmers market boasts many more vendors and a wider range of goods than I saw. I may make a trip back on another Saturday, as this must be the day that all (or at least more) vendors are there. I really like the setting this market is in, and it has really great possibilities.
