The first thing you notice is the vibe--it feels more like an open-air market than a standard grocery store. It's huge, incredibly well-lit, and just feels "clean." Honestly, it's a breath of fresh air compared to some of the other spots around here that are starting to look a bit worn down. You can tell they actually maintain and scrub the place daily. The selection is honestly overwhelming in the best way possible. Their prepared food section is elite--I'm talking a full sushi bar, custom pizzas, a hot bar, and a deli that actually makes a decent sandwich. Plus, there's a whole second floor with tables and chairs if you want to hang out and eat there. A few things that make this my new go-to: * The Price: I was shocked at how competitive they are. They're giving Costco a run for their money on a lot of items, and they're definitely cheaper than the other local chains. * The Location: It's right across from Costco, Target, and Home Depot. I can get my entire weekend "to-do" list done without driving to different places. * The Parking: Huge private lot with two floors, so I've never had a stressful time finding a spot. * The Staff: Everyone is genuinely friendly. It makes sense, though--Wegmans is famous for actually paying their people well and taking care of them, and you can really feel that reflected in the service. Just had to listen to three employees discuss how being gay is a sin and people need to read the Bible and understand being gay goes against God. They were saying this right in front of me in the seltzer aisle. I wasn't eavesdropping on a secret conversation. As a gay person all I can say is WTF? This isn't the first time something like this has happened either. A few weeks ago as I was paying for groceries the cashier in the aisle next to mine was interrogating the bagger in my aisle about his brother's sexuality. Not a conversation you have with customers around. I literally just moved back up north after living in the south for a decade. Never had this happen in a Publix. I'll gladly drive the extra ten minutes to Ridgefield going forward. The employees at Stop & Shop seem to be more professional.

And a really nice brand, too. For example I picked up a bottle of Momofuku soy sauce - normally I'd have to have that shipped. We got a bunch of things here for lunches and dinners, including bowtie pasta salad with chicken; burrata cheese; beautiful heirloom tomatoes; snap peas; Italian wedding soup; chicken salad. Everything was super fresh, organic and delicious. And the service was not only friendly and attentive, it was super relaxed... while I like Ridgefield there is this overlying social tension everywhere that results in a sort of frosty service in some of the businesses. And hey I get it if I had to provide service to uptight, image conscious, egotistical patrons every day I'd probably end up the same way! I tell everyone about your location and I still will. However, let me bring to your attention that the customer service was awful. I was not greeted by the young lady at the cashier station. I walked around with my little hand cart and she followed my every move. She saw me looking around for products, and not once did she ask could she help me(which I needed, but finally found it myself). Instead of thinking I'm a thief, she could of interacted with me to see why visited your location. I arrived at the cash out and she never looked at me, asked did I find everything, or even just make some type of chatter. The only thing she said was "would you like a bag for 10c". I said yes and she bagged my items. I tried to see if should would engaged. I ask what time the store closed (i know you close at 9) just to see if she would dialog. She said just the number "9" with no eye contact. She put my receipt in the bag, and pushed my bag towards me. I returned the hand cart. I said thank you, and she said nothing again. I felt like confronting her but I didn't. Please retrain your cashier on customer service. Your store is not cheap, so I expect to be treated with value. I've never been treated like that in this store. If I'm treated like this again, I'm done, and tell everyone not to shop.
