DON'T GO TO THIS SCHOOL. THE INSTRUCTORS ARE WORTHLESS . THIS PLACE HAS CAUSE NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS…read moreFOR ME. The equipment, the facility everything about this place is run into the ground. They say they can get you ready for your career in Automotive. It's 100% a lie. After finishing this course you might be able to change oil. And that wasn't from the instructor teaching you. It was from one of the other students showing you. Not an instructor. There's no real curriculum with the school. They don't show you how to use the equipment properly until you break it and then blame you for breaking it. Trust me when I say you DON'T want to go here. Porter & molester is garbage! I can't stress this enough. Do not send your kids here or if your thinking about going DON'T.

After reading a decisively negative review of another PCI location, I felt compelled to balance out…read morethe universe a bit. Porter and Chester Institute was a school that came along right when I needed it. After attending a university for three years and having the worst time of my life, I stumbled across PCI in my hometown of Stratford, CT. Having loved computers my whole life, their computers and networking course seemed right up my alley. The instructors were extremely knowledgeable and friendly (big shout outs to Robert Sommer and Arthur Calabrese). The school itself had a welcoming environment--every day I was there I felt at home. Lectures were informative and evenly paced. Students who needed a bit more help received it, while those that were more advanced were allowed to move on to more complex subjects. Everyone was given a fair chance at PCI. In all honesty, the only people who didn't succeed were those who failed to put in the effort. I don't mean to speak for anyone else, and I know the course proved a bit too much for some, but all in all, if you put in the time and effort you were rewarded in the end. Easy? No. But nothing worth doing ever is. I'll always look back at PCI with fondness. The school says once a student, always a student, and it's very true. Even now I'll swing by to say hi and I'm met with nothing but warm welcomes. PCI is a for-profit business, make no mistake...but, in my experience at the Stratford, CT campus, they were one that actually gave a damn about their students. Whereas my former university would call me out of class just to yell at me for a bill that was not yet late, PCI always made sure my education came first. I highly recommend this school to anyone looking for a career in computers and networking (or other fields such as automotive and HVAC). If you're willing to put in the effort and listen to the instructors, you won't regret it. I'm currently working as a network technician with a promising career ahead of me. Thanks PCI!

Stars are Zero!…read more The financial aid woman is rude. She tells me, the mother with a masters degree I do not know how to do my daughters financial aid. Kept my mouth shut for my kid. THEN right before start time, she calls because there is a problem with financial aid application that she did. Yup. So, I told her as she was once again rude that she is difficult. She told me that I don't feel that way. I then spoke with director who was slobbing on food in my ear on the phone. I asked for anyone else to speak to because she gave my daughter an issue prior to my call. Although I explained it was not about the person not being able to tell me my 18 year old's personal information, it was about her being abrasive. Her only reply was that they could not discuss the personal information. Ends up, this so called director (or budget director) is owner's daughter. My daughter made the wise choice to avoid the school since she would have to deal with this horrid woman and not be heard by anyone with issues. Not even Daddy's daughter would listen. Also have massage students work with people that come in and are charged. The students do not receive any of the funds from their work, the school keeps all the funds. School charges students $20,000 to complete course. Over charging for tools, such as massage tables and books. Same quality items available half price outside of school. Unprofessional in many ways. My child deserves a better education and treatment while attending. Also not doing so well with enrollment. Wonder why!

I was a bit skeptical at first since I was expecting Andrew to teach the course, but Juan did an excellent job at giving tips to conceptualize topics. Further, Juan is a good speaker with years of knowledge working in the industry, so he will answer any questions you may have with ease. They will provide you with slides that are great for reviewing before the exam. The best thing about this course is that they will focus on topics that have higher priority and will advise on which sections to spend more of your time on. From my experience, I would recommend reading the book prior to taking the exam and taking this bootcamp course as a refresher. You should not rely solely on the bootcamp to pass the course as the CISSP has a lot of info that may require more time to study. Note, I spent 3 months of regularly studying and crammed 60+ hours the week before the exam.
