While we were out running errands during the day, she still had keys to the apartment as she was trying to show the apartment to other potential tenants and actually came in without notifying us prior to entering. She notified me after she and the potential tenant had entered and walked through the apartment a few hours later. Later that afternoon, my husband came back to the apartment to notice that all closets and cupboards were opened, the patio door was not locked, and his duffle bag was picked through, and his electric razor and cologne were no where to be found, etc. So I called her right away to ask her where the missing items are, and why was my husband's duffle bag picked through, she refused to answer me and explain how and why this incident happened during her watch. She denied that she had anything to do with this, and that she and the potential tenant did not steal anything, no one else has access to the property except us and her. My husband was there for almost a whole week and nothing went missing or was stolen until the same day she entered into the property without letting us know in advance. I told her or her potential tenant to kindly return our belongings and that I will not file a theft report with the police, but she did not respond, which makes me not trust her anymore like I did when she helped us in the beginning. I specifically asked her to tell me who stole our belongings since she says it wasn't her, then I told her it must be the potential tenant, since they were the only 2 people in the apartment and she's the only other person besides us who has the keys. We are very disappointed!!!

Some were amazing, some were terrible. Among the faculty who I think were gems, and are still listed in the school's website directory: Pinedo (Film & Media), Gaboury (Women & Gender Studies), Oza (W&GS), Thomas (English), Nims (English). I also had the experience of being president of the Queer Student Union's Gay Men's Alliance. I found the bureaucracy of the school administration and budget process to be frustrating and sometimes inscrutable. We advocated for and got very little traction on issues like gender neutral bathrooms and sensitivity training for campus security because the administration would on the one hand act very liberal and understanding, but on the other would remain stubbornly right lipped about taking any definitive actions. I'm sure the building has been updated (I hope so anyway), but in my time the club rooms in the Thomas Hunter Building were drafty and infested with mice and other pests. The whole 'city as campus' thing is cool, provided you can afford it.

You will quickly notice favoritism, particularly with the registrar. Be sure to pay your tuition in person, the registrar has been known to cancel classes by alleging that your tuition check arrived late. Many Professors at Brooklyn College have agendas to run. In addition to teaching, the typical Professor has a charity to support, a cause to support, or something to whine about. There are more Marxist's on the payroll at BC than anybody can count. BC is also a very competitive place. If you are in a Laboratory do not leave your experiment unattended. Students have been known to sabotage other students work. Do not share your written work with anyone. Plagiarism is a bad habit with the old guard at BC. Once upon a time BC was very well maintained, these days it is falling apart. There are serious issues in Boylan and James hall's. The Library clock has been broken for years. Where the maintenance money is going is a mystery to me. BC had some great Professors once upon a time. They have all retired, and alas some have passed. Hans Trefousse(History), Peter Brancazio(Physics), David Minars(Accounting), Jim Johnson(Speech), and John Blamire(Biology) are all gone. What you are stuck with these days are a bunch of antiquated buffoons that are totally out of touch with reality. Best of luck if you go, you may want to look for a job instead. There are a lot of businesses hiring now that the pandemic is under control. Why wait?

I had professors who saw potential in me and proud I went to city tech. The college has some opportunities to take advantage of internships or apprenticeships to get experience, also curriculum must be updated according to society's needs. City Tech has the best professors and provides with great opportunities.
