I will never go back to Crocket Aldi. I went yesterday and bought some chicken breast. On the packaging it said that it has 15% chicken broth added to it. So the next day I got the chicken out of the container and noticed that the container was pretty heavy. So I weighted the container and the container weighted a little more then 1.5 pounds. So then I weighted the chicken and the chicken weighted a little over 4 lbs but the packaging said 5.64 lbs. So I'm paying for 4 lbs of chicken for the price of 5.64 price. I will never go back again and will make sure people are aware of it and you should check what you get and what your paying for. read more

One reason why prices seem lower here is because containers are smaller than standard--14 or 15 ounces instead of a pound for things that are usually a pound, 10 ounces of chocolate chips instead of the standard 12 ounce bag, etc.. The checkers will not drop your groceries into your reusable bag that you set in the grocery cart, they sling them into the cart even through your put your bag conveniently right there. So you have to spend the extra time to bag them out of the cart while the cart's being filled with the next customer's purchase. Watch the expiration dates on things. Don't expect them to open a second register if there are 5 or 6 customers in line. On the other hand, they carry grass fed beef at a good price, and have most of the basic goods you need except fresh parsley. UPDATE: After complaining to corporate office, I have noticed a sustained improvement in the courtesy of the cashiers when it comes to the bagging situation. They are willing to drop my items into the bag if I hustle it quickly into their cart. Also, they now have fresh parsley though at an exorbitant price. They stopped carrying whole wheat flour "because people weren't buying it," nevertheless, they have space for one half AISLE (3 or 4 shelves! 15 feet long!) full of "protein" bars. I'm increasing the stars to 3 because of the upgrade in cashier behavior. read more

Was not impressed with their products. Bought 100 or more in groceries had to toss most of it bc everything had a weird texture or after taste . we are not going back. The store is small. If you like buying processes food I guess is fine . but I like fresh veggies, fruits and quality meat. They don't have that here. read more

I like Aldi's but their customer service is bad. I have shopped there and just put my things in my bags and checked out without a problem but today was just not the day to go to Aldi's for me. The Cashier , Irene, was very rude in not letting me get the cart where she placed my groceries and take it to the counter so that I could empty it and bag it myself. She made me feel like I was going to take the cart and claim the quarter. She had me bag my items right next to her, as she was checking other people out and putting their items in the same cart where my groceries where in. Even the customer that was behind me felt uncomfortable with that. Bad experience ! read more

If you are dying to know what its like to shop in a Nordic socialist state, Congratulations! You've found your new market. This is "Euro-Styling" at its most stark. Don't expect warmth from the surroundings or the staff... you won't find it. The store is definitely clean, but very cold and industrial. Prices are decent, but not much better than you'll get at Stater Bros. and definitely no better than a Winco, both of which have much more variety. Selection is incredibly limited, and the display of items in shipping crates adds to the industrial feel. I found the organization of items to be a bit odd, and if I were looking for a particular item, I would have to do a little hunting to find it. Some may find the stark emptiness appealing. I found it fairly disconcerting, and longed for the happy hustle and bustle of my neighborhood market. On Thursday, 3/24/2016, grocery shoppers in Corona and surrounding cities got lucky! The German supermarket chain Aldi opened 8 stores in SoCal. 6 in surrounding towns to Corona and 2 in the Palm Springs area. By end of June there will be 20 area stores, including in OC, and many more are planned. New to CA, but already a presence on US East Coast and across the globe. Most their products are organic. And they have set out to become the healthiest grocery chain on the globe. Already banning food from suppliers using certain pesticides, even though some still permitted in some countries incl. the US. And they are succeeding, even getting awards as being "the top supermarket chain" on a global basis from their own peers. And they pay their employees very well, larger entry salaries then the standard supermarkets. So - with Aldi here now, our regular familiar supermarkets will also have to drop prices! I drove down to the Lake Elsinore store on Friday afternoon, March 25 and was impressed. The size of Trader Joe stores (owned by the same family). The business is clean, the employees are super-nice and helpful and nobody can beat their prices! Some things like spices, at 99 cents each, are the same price like at 99 cent stores. Some things, like Tuna (59 cents a can) even cheaper then at 99 cent stores, butter $ 2.49 and Easter Ham at 79 cents a pound, spiral cut ham at $ 1.99/pound. Brie Cheese $ 2.99 etc. (Versus: $ 2.99/lb ham regular and $ 5.99/lb spiral-cut ham at area supermarket etc. etc.). Granted. They have a much smaller selection of items. They have 3 kinds of Tuna vs maybe 20 kinds in regular supermarkets. Same with coffee. 5 kinds of coffee vs. 30 plus in regular supermarkets. But who needs that large selection, when on many items one can save up to 50%?? Many items are house brands, but they offer a double guarantee. Don't like item you bought? You are offered same item, different brand, free of charge PLUS your money back. I was a little disappointed during my visit, not many German products. Was told that end of the week they would receive many. They have specials on groceries every week, but also on other items and then they have their "red hot items". When they are gone, they are gone! Knda like what we know from the day after Thanksgiving sales here to draw people in. "Not so red hot" in recent weeks, all about spring cleaning, tools, garage clean-up etc. My advice - keep checking back! Example: abt. 5 weeks ago - laptop for less then $ 200.00. Sometimes TVs, clothing, computers etc. Ultimately they will operate US West Coast stores the same way they operate stores in Germany and across the Globe. Urging customers to bring their own bags (they will charge 10/15 cents a bag if you need theirs). Charging customers a temporary 25 cents for use of a shopping cart, while shopping. Meaning: a quarter needed to be inserted to release a shopping cart from the stack, but reimbursed when the cart is pushed back into stack. Cutting down on shopping cart theft and maintaining stores at the "Trader Joe" size level with less power costs helps them to keep the prices as cheap as they are. The way they talked this place up, you'd think it was some superb grocery store. I was disappointed just when we got there to see how small it was. The whole quarter thing to use a cart is interesting but you get your quarter back so whatever. Anyway, once inside, they made it seem like there would be so much organic produce to pick from...not the case, only one end cap. The prices on the rest of their produce was good. They had a decent selection of other organic items but not anything we were too interested in buying. Honestly, the place felt like a nicer version of a 99 cents only store. checked out the offerings at this new Aldi. I liked the prices but was disappointed in 2 areas: the produce was wilted. They looked about the same quality as Wal-Mart. I 'll be going elsewhere for my vegetables. when I asked for the Pullsbury refrigerated dough I was told they they don't carry them. I always try to have a couple in my refrigerator as a staple and had to go to another to buy them. if I can't get most of my groceries there I probably won't be making the visit there in the future. read more

It just hauls @$$ on all other grocery stores out there, they couldn't have arrived sooner. Love their European finds. Smart to charge a quarter for use of their carts so you have to return it on your own to get your quarter back plus there's minimal risk of these carts damaging cars in the parking lot. Paying associates to collect carts all over the lot is a waste of resources. Maybe other grocers will follow suit. Also gotta love their double refund guarantee! We stopped in to Aldi after my mother-in-law heard how great this place was from a coworker of hers. First, we were really thrown off by needing a quarter in order to use a shopping cart. None of us had a quarter. Who carries cash anymore?! The cashier gave us a quarter thinking we were another lady who complained about the same thing. I went to Aldi this past week after work on Tuesday. Mind you it was pretty late. I had never been to an Aldi before and figured it was just like any other grocery store. I didn't know you had to guess how many bags I would need to buy before hand and said to the cashier I should bag my items so I know how many I should get. She said she doesn't help bag items very rudely and then rudely pointed out that there is a bagging counter. I didn't know I had to bag my own things at a bagging counter. I kind of stood there a little baffled because it is kind of weird. The sign they have posted labeling the bagging counter is very small and my eyes are not the greatest. The cashier also embarrassed me by saying in a very rude and demeaning tone, "hurry up and swipe your card. I need to get to my other customers." This review is based on my first visit to Aldi. I was pleasantly surprised by the range of groceries, as well as some items, such as garden tools that I wasn't expecting. Their prices are exceptionally competitive! Examples: Fuji apples 0.69/lb. Extra Virgin Olive Oil $3.49/half liter. 10lb Russet Potatoes $1.99. I purchased 30 items on this occasion, all of which would have cost more elsewhere and not been as good quality wise. I do not mind bagging my groceries to get this kind of saving! I've been here a few times already and I am a fan. You might be thrown off not seeing a lot of name brands but from what my kids say, they taste pretty similar. The prices are great. I have done a week's worth of shopping for $125 or under including lots of meat where I know it would have been a lot more elsewhere. They might not carry every single item you are looking for, but for me... it works. Just remember to bring a quarter for the carts and your own bags. People I have seen give bad reviews based on that, that is pathetic. Their prices and customer service should be reviewed, not because you forgot a quarter or had to spend $1 on some paper bags. Sometimes if they see you struggling they will offer you a cart. I see it as they are trying to save money to pay their employees more and help the environment by encouraging you to bring your own bags. I'll definately be going more often. read more

I will give it 4 stars. I get the concept of the carts but I hate having to find a quarter to shop and paying for bags but I get it. Otherwise I like to produce prices and surprise of things in the middle of the store but I hate that I can't get all of my groceries here. I have tried numerous times to get all of my ingredients there for a meal but I have not been successful yet.
