I've been shopping here 1-2x/mnth for about 3 yrs now. I haven't had any issues with the customer service. The store itself is no frills. I usually stick to buying pretty specific items that I know I can only get at aldi (their brand dog food) and their assorted cheeses and crackers. Once-in-a-while, i'll find a random gadget i didn't know I needed. Like someone else pointed out, this store isn't as nice or as stocked as other Aldi stores. Sometimes, it looks pretry scarce inside. Overall, I'm OK with this store. I just wish they were better stocked. read more

2 days ago, I went to Aldi in Lake Elsinore. The fruit and vegetables that were sold in bags, were rotten. I tried to contact the store but No local phone number. This is the last time I shop at Aldi. read more

I love Aldi for specific things but idk if I want to continue to shop at this location. And the only reason is The customer service. The cashier lines go down the middle of the store and wrap around the back of the store they only have one person at the register and everyone else is stocking and ignoring the long line and then have the audacity to say it's due to understaffing. Your check out lines should take priority over stocking. Lots of people abandoned their carts or goods due to that alone. Half the customers come in without a cart they bring a reusable bag, they utilize the cardboard boxes in the store, and if they haven't prepped the cashier line with enough carts, they will start rushing you putting your items away because they only have one free cart that your food is now occupying. And on top of that just throw it all over the cart. Breads... smashed. Your veggies and fruit just thrown around causing bruising and if you're not done by the time, they need the cart they're gonna be yelling at you to take your things out of the cart and go. It's extremely rude and really threw me off guard. It's extremely uncomfortable to be yelled at for trying to bag your now torn apart cart. I asked if this is how the process is all the time and she said well if you don't have a cart... if you don't pay the $.25 you will be rushed. So just know if they need the cart your using. overall everyone's really extremely rude here. And act as if you are an inconvenience to them at the checkout or If you try to ask for help. read more

I used to shop at the LE location often until Menifee opened and it was closer. Went into LE today around 2pm and won't be going back. I love the prices and the selection is great. The customer service is horrible! It was pretty quiet so there weren't long lines or crowds. I tried to stop an employee to ask a question and she glared at me and kept walking. I had to ask my husband, am I crazy or did she just ignore me??? The employee at checkout was just as bad. She had no personality, didn't even say hi, placed heavy items on top of fragile and handed me my receipt. What kind of people are you hiring there? Where are your standards? read more

We came in to browse, first time visiting this location and it shocks me how much bigger locations are here in Lake Elsinore compared to the surrounding cities. This store was the Costco sized version and it was neat, clean and very organized, not to mention their AOS aisle was off the hook. They had SO MANY THINGS that they didn't have at any of the nearby locations to us. I could have walked out with a full cart, but we had other stops to make! read more

I'm pretty upset with corporates irresponsible and cheap idea to get rid of the majority of shopping carts. You lost a minimum of $200 from me alone today because I COULDN'T GO SHOPPING because the 15 carts you left for use at this store were ALL IN USE. If you had only removed HALF the number of shopping carts you would probably still lose money- this is a VERY busy store and I have two small children so I'm not going to carry everything and not hold my child's hand. I picked up a box and put what I could and then got in line. I spent maybe 30 bucks instead of my usual $200 + If this continues and I can't get a shopping cart I will go elsewhere to shop. BRING BACK THE SHOPPING CARTS OR BE PREPARED TO CLOSE FROM LACK OF CUSTOMERS WHO WONT RETURN. IM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO WAS LEAVING AND NOT ABLE TO SHOP! read more

Horrible customer service!!! I have been shopping at this ALDI location (18294 Collier Ave, Lake Elsinore, CA) for several years without any issues. This was the first time I brought my service dog, a small Chihuahua, into the store. I placed a blanket on the upper part of the cart and put my reusable bags (7 of them) on top as a barrier between my dog and the cart. I then proceeded with my shopping and picked up five items, having already done most of my shopping for the week earlier at the same store. While I was in line to check out, the manager approached me and instructed me to remove my dog from the cart. I explained that I didn't know ALDI didn't allow service dogs in carts. She insisted that I had to take my dog out and put her on the floor. I mentioned that I didn't have a leash, and my dog might run around, but she didn't seem to care and threatened to ask me to leave the store if I didn't comply. Since I was already at the checkout, I placed my dog on the wall-mounted shelf near the entrance, typically used for customers' bags, and asked her to stay there until I finished. However, the manager came back and said that wasn't allowed either, insisting that the dog had to be on the floor. I offered to wipe down the shelf afterward and assured her that I wouldn't bring my dog in again, as I was already on my way out. Despite this, she continued to argue, claiming that if my dog was a service dog, she should be following me and suggested that my dog wasn't a real service dog. I offered to show her the paperwork in my car, but she didn't seem interested. To make matters worse, some of the customers behind me were shocked by the situation and suggested I write to ALDI customer care about the way I was treated. Overall, this experience was very disappointing, especially at my favorite store. Your managers need better training on how to handle situations involving service dogs. If ALDI does not allow service dogs in certain areas, please make that clear with proper signage. The manager's name was Janelle (I believe), and the cashier was named Tamika/Tanika. Both were extremely rude, and this experience has left me feeling very disappointed. read more

This grocery store is great! they sell just about everything. I purchase bread here... they have many kinds to choose from. They also have a huge selection of pastries and snacks. They have a nice selection of organic fruits, vegetables and meats. You definitely can't beat the price. This store was already in a great location, many stores in this shopping center. They just opened a marshalls, 5 below, Starbucks and many more stores across the street... making this location even better than what it already was! read more

I love the prices at aldis. It's a nice store to have in the area. They don't have any other grocery stores in the immediate area. My only problem is the customer service. When the checkout line is 9 people deep and they bring another cashier to help. You feel relieved. But the original cashier told everyone to go to the new register and he shut down his register. You would expect them to keep both registers open until they service all the customers. But no he shut down his register and said " IM CLOSED NOW" Everyone was shocked that they made all the customers move to the new register. I will no longer shop at this store. I will drive to the otherside of the freeway and shop at Walmart and grocery outlet. I been shopping there for awhile and I didn't realize that I been overcharged a few times on different items so check your receipts. I actually took a picture of some protein bars and the price said $3.99 but when I paid they charged me $5.49 and when I showed the cashier the picture and what the price was suppose to be she can't give me the price for that because it rings up at $5.49 so I ask for a manager and Irene came to the register so I showed her the picture I took and what the price is suppose to be and she went to go check and said that it was a mistake. I ask her to give me the price at $3.99 and she wouldn't honor that even though it said $3.99 and I have a picture of it . When I went home I went through some of my receipts from Aldi and they charged me the $3.99 for the same protein bars and now they wanted to charge me more when the price said $3.99. They also overcharge me on another item. So save your Aldi receipts and make sure they are not overcharging you. Bad management and customer service. I won't be shopping there anymore. read more

"ALDI has touched down in California!" Owned by the same company running Trader Joe's, ALDI had its roots in Germany and has already been established in other areas of the US, but the California grand opening at 8 stores happened today. Like their sister chain, this store provides their own branded items, thus inexpensive grocery options while retaining quality. The shopping experience is based off of the European model: coin deposit carts, reusable shopping bags, and self-bagging. After looking through, I found some lovely authentic German items (chocolate, Sauerkraut, beer), but hoped for more. Today they sampled a few items and offered complimentary reusable grocery bags. Though crowded (mostly by carts), the staff were really helpful and checkout was efficient. As someone who grew up with ALDI, my first visit was nostalgic and I welcome the business with open arms. As a former Londoner, I'm very familiar with the ALDI brand and was excited to hear that they were launching in California. I happened to be in Menifee, and drove a short while to the Lake Elsinore store, which just opened two days ago. I probably won't be making the drive again. Compared to what I was expecting, the location was very small. They did have good prices on produce, but everything else seemed average for non-brand name products. For example, the yogurts and cheese were "Fit & Active" brand, as well as another one, but were just slightly less than your Yoplait, Dannon or Kraft. If you're looking for groceries on a budget, you would be better off shopping at Walmart. read more

Why does it over all only have 3.5 stars? Wtf is wrong with people? (Sorry). I grew up with Aldi in Germany and am thrilled that they are finally in CA as well. Aldi has FANTASTIC PRICES and great QUALITY ! You may not know that Aldi, under their name, uses very high end brand names but we pay a fraction of the 'other stores' prices, who can only offer it under that specific brand name. Ok, relax, everyone. I know that nothing is perfect and their may be some things there that I do not buy myself but the point is that they have great quality produce, breads, cheeses, lunch Meats and soooo much more. Right now it's 'German week' and I filled up my freezer with most of the goodies that I can freeze and Jared goods can always go in my shelves and sit there for a while Produce prices are always very good. Brioche breads are very good. Deli cooling area has lots of great goodies to offer. Pay attention and educate yourself on the whole brand name thing.. if it makes you feel better. I wished they'd have more 'German weeks' during the year read more

First time I'm going into ALDI food market today, OCTOBER 21st 2024 @ 3:30pm..... Very bad experience already as I walk-in. I wish I got that guys name by the cashier. So, I don't have a grocery cart & there's one is not chain or luck nearby the cashier, so I try to grab it & the cashier rudely telling me that's "HIS" cart. At that moment I was so embarrassed with the other customers. But there's that lady is done checking out & have a cart, and he ask the cashier, "What I'm going to do with this cart?" that guy from the casher says, you can give it to "HER" which is "ME". And I ask, what's the difference between the cart I'm tying to grab & that lady's cart? But that cashier didn't respond. So I said Thank You to that lady for the cart. But since that guy from the cashier embarrassed me with a lot of people/customer, I walk out back outside/exiting myself. I WILL NEVER GO TO ANY ALDI STORE AT ALL..... To that guy/cashier sitting into that chair who ever you are, that's not how you approach a customer/person! Have some manners to your customers. I will give no star but I've got no choice so I have to give 1. read more

So cool to have Aldi here now. I am German and grew up shopping here so getting to shop there again years later brought back so many memories. While most of the products are different, some of the chocolate is the same as is the general set up of the store. Great selection, fair prices and excellent service. Can't wait for the rest of their SoCal locations to open since this is an area I don't frequent much, but it was such a nice change to get to purchase different products you don't find at any other grocery stores, welcome to CA! read more

Holy Cow! This store is awesome!! First let me prep you. Bring a quarter for a cart. Don't worry, you'll get it back. Bring some reusable shopping bags too, because just like Costco, they don't hand them out. Also just like Costco, they don't carry every brand and every variety you can think of, they only carry the items that truly move off the shelf. No sales. No coupons. No gimmicks, just awesome prices. Check out my receipt. Today while I was there, I got 1 gallon of milk for 1.75, avocados for 0.45 each, 12 eggs for 0.89, hummus for 1.99, Neufchâtel for 0.99, bananas for 0.39 per pound and wavy potato chips for 1.49. I should also mention the quality. I came here last week also and tried all the items I price quoted above and several others. Everything is seriously good. If you order delivery service, look elsewhere. It's all a big scam. Even if they give you free delivery. The policy should be, if the order is wrong, there should be no fees. What good is it to make Lasagna if they don't deliver the cheese? How do you make egg salad without eggs? Imagine your tacos without meat? Can you call it a turkey dinner if you have no Turkey? Of course, you can make a second order and pay an additional $25 in fees (delivery fee, service fee, gas surplus fee and don't forget a tip for the driver who doesn't deliver all your items). Now add to this you need one item like a turkey for thanksgiving. You add several items so not to waste their time. You receive everything except the turkey. read more

Always great customer service, seriously. I haven't checked out any other location but this one has left quite the impression on me. Everyone goes the extra mile and out of their way just to help, it's really nice and welcoming. The only reason why it lost a star is for the small selection on food items. They don't have the biggest inventory of food. It's also a pain to have so many people ask me for quarters. I didn't mind giving to the three people that really needed it but some of the others, not so much. read more

I shopped here 7/30. I'm not a fan at all. This place has the same vibe as the .99 store next door. This German company claims to be discount. That as it may be, the majority of their goods are off brands. Prices at Walmart and Winco are less expensive with a greater variety of goods. The meat department is awful. There were two packages of expired meat that is saw. I don't know that I would really call it a meat department. An extremely limited selection of meat. Produce department is limited as well. Produce is in two parts of the store. Not well laid out. If you want to use a cart you can for .25. You get the coin back upon the return of the basket. Ok so they save money by not hiring an employee to gather carts. Well, it's inconvenient considering I don't carry change. I'll stay at Winco and leave my cart in a convenient cart stall in the parking lot as opposed walking back to the store front. This way I feel better that an American worker has a job. So then I check out with a less than polite employee No hello, thank you or goodbye. Maybe sitting on his butt on a stool checking groceries is stressful and exhausting for him. We won't be returning. The store is just a more expensive version of a .99 store, paying for a cart is ridiculous and not customary in the US. I'll stay with Walmart and Winco American owned businesses. Theses stores will appreciate my hard earned money with a smile and a thank you. read more

When I was diagnosed with a wheat allergy, most of the food I eat was off limits. A coworker let me try her sesame and black pepper tortilla strips from Aldi, and they were delicious, and work well with dips. I am an avid Aldi shopper! I'm there at least once a week - maybe twice. I always buy my milk, eggs, and dairy here. As well as any of the meat, poultry, and fish. The only thing that is a little dissapointing is, they won't carry everything at all times, especially in fruits and veggies. However, what they do have are great deals. Sometimes, it's just nice to walk around to see what new things you can find around the store. I remember they had this great wafer cookies that they had around Valentine's. I think I bought about 6 of them every couple of weeks. We were all addicted to those cookies. I hope they bring them back!! The cashiers are super fast since they don't bag the groceries, so if you only buy a few things and you don't want to take the cart, I feel like you have to be super quick I bagging your stuff because they are into the next person. Anyhow, try it out. It has great big aisles you can walk in, good product, and good prices. read more

My family and I have been looking forward to Aldi coming out here for years! No, they do not carry very many "name brands," but a lot of their private label stuff is ACTUALLY the name brand, you're just not paying for the label. Especially when it comes to their dairy products (not all their stuff is like this). I went to Albertson's this week and their eggs are well over $3 and Aldi's are $1.79!!!! Whhhhhaaaaa Even if it only saves us $10 a week, that's still $520 a year! I am a total Aldi believer. I've found their produce to be better quality than what I see elsewhere, but that may be because I find the Walmart down the highway to be completely disgusting. GO ALDI. See you this week. read more

I really liked this grocery store for what it is, and that is a low cost grocery store. The grocery store carries all your essentials; fruit, meats, fish, drinks, eggs, cleaning supplies, frozen foods, etc. The difference between this store and your typical Albertsons is that they don't have the same name brands, and huge variety of products (for example 5 different kinds of eggs, cookies, etc). However they do carry some major brand names like fosters chicken, and some other big name brands. Aldi mostly carries other name brands like Fit and Active, and other brand names you've never heard of, but Aldi assures its customers of its quality with a double guarantee where they replace your product with a new one AND give you your money back. Browsing around the store I noticed pretty much everything here was cheaper than major grocery store chains. They had a dozen eggs for $1.79, organic chicken breast for $4.something per pound, Cereal for $1.29 and I even bought some fresh Tilapia for $4!! Remember to bring a 25 cents to get your grocery cart and it will be refunded when you return it. Also bring your own reusable grocery bags or purchase them at the cash register. Definitely recommend coming here if you don't want to overspend on your groceries. They carry all the essential foods you need, but just be aware they probably won't be the same brands you are used to. read more

Paid $7.55 for organic cherry tomatoes, organic oatmeal, eggs, and a 12pack of Maruchan. Not bad. Cart rental is 25 cents but since I hardly ever get that much, didn't need it. It's located in the same plaza as Farmer Boy's. Decided to stop in before a burger to see what the hype is all about. Much cheaper place for organic produce. Plus their cheese section has a lot of options. I saw sliced butterkase and a prucciuto cheese log. A cheesecake in the freezer section for 8.99. Organic milk was way cheaper than other places. I would probably equate Aldi to WinCo or a smaller version of Walmart's food section. My gf was impressed that they allow their cashiers to sit while working. Thankful to have Aldi here on the west coast. Frequented Aldi on the east coast, and was excited for the opening last week. Not your average grocery store. Positives: Prices are definitely lower! Dollar can most likely be stretched at Aldi's. For 10 items, I paid $12. At Stater Bro's, I would have paid $20, easily, and more at Albertson's & Von's. Service is efficient and very friendly & helpful. Negatives: Smaller store, fewer items, not your usual name brands, produce needs to be used sooner than later. Selection is very limited. German based, few brands from the USA. Overall, my experience here was very pleasant. Waited to give my review a week later, so I could tryout the off-brand groceries, and to my surprise, they were all quite good. They were either just as good as the usual name-brand, or better in some cases. Would I return to Aldi's? I most certainly will. I will also remember to bring 25 cents for shopping cart (refunded when cart is returned) and to bring reusable bags, to bag my own groceries. I'm sure that is where the savings kicks in... Sorry Stater Bro's, Von's, Walmart, etc... Your competition has you at the end of the line. read more
