Our family loves ALDI stores! It was a staple grocery destination while we lived in San Diego so we were stoked to see that EC has one. Store is well stocked and organized. Best prices and lots of gluten free options. There's plenty of parking and service is always pretty good. It's always a pleasant surprise to see Jon. He's introduced me to some pretty awesome aldi products and can ALWAYS point us the right direction. Aldi stores are everywhere in Germany, known for discounted grocery shopping and randomly selected household items... their ambience is known for pallets of stocked up boxed items... don't expect being serviced, however overall you save $ and get specialty stuff, like now authentic German gingerbread cookies... read more

I went in to Aldi for one thing and walked out with a cart full! The store was clean and well organized and when I couldn't find something the assistant manager John was super kind and helpful and walked me across the store directly to the item instead of giving vague directions. Service in the valley isn't always great but he was awesome and in my time shopping I saw him helping several people while still getting his work done. We need more leadership like him! read more

It's really hit or miss here. I like their frozen egg and spring rolls, but haven't seen them in weeks. Great selection of cheeses and dips, and one of the few places I can find cheese curds. Veggie selection and quality leave something to be desired. The bread product selection is good. Bagels, nan, and pita are always available. Check out the Aldi FB pages for customer reviews on their products. The big complaint for me is that they are understaffed. Could just be a sign of the times, but having a line going all the way back to the end of the aisle with just one checker doesn't cut it for me. read more

I stopped in to Aldi for the first time because i was looking for some berries. I've heard such good things from people and the commercial. The first weird thing was someone offering me a cart. I've often taken carts back for people leaving so they wouldn't have to walk back, so took that one...then I saw the quarter shoved in the slot. I guess, you pay a quarter for a cart then get it back when you return it. I've seen it at the airport (for much more) but never at a grocery store. It had promise when I walked in. I saw packaged snacks like nuts, trail mix and a healthy mix. The prices were decent. Then, I came to the fruit section which had a real small selection of veg and they were all packaged in plastic. I understand some things need packaging like bean sprouts that need corralling but they had Everything in plastic which is something I've been trying to avoid. I walked though the rest of the store. They had a good assortment of canned & boxed foods. Meat looked ok, the refrigerated and frozen food selections was small. Aldi had some interesting items but nothing that would get me to go back there instead of my regular store. If I needed some snacks for a trip of party, maybe I would go there. It's too bad this Aldi isn't like the other ones with reviews that I see. read more

Easy to find items. Go there at least twice a week. Giving it two stars because the store has 5 checkout registers, but ALWAYS hasonly has one open--making it have a LONG checkout line read more

I only frequent this Aldi and the one in National City. I prefer the one in Chula Vista between the two. Friendly staff and clean, as it should be. I also feel like there are more specials and sales at the one in Chula Vista. read more

I really enjoyed shopping Aldi BUT I have definitely changed my mind. I do my shopping with them through InstaCart. When I placed my order for Thanksgiving, I ordered two Butterball turkeys priced at $9.00. This was yesterday. My shopper was told those were on sale and the sale was over. Then why not correct your prices. I checked today and on InstaCart, the has still not been changed. Very disappointed. read more

I like the store a lot. They have good prices on some things and carry a different selection than other places in town. However yesterday the cashier was in such a rush that I felt she was rude to me. I brought my own bags for the groceries. She grabbed a cart that was there and just started tossing my groceries into that cart and pushed away my cart along with my bags. I grabbed my bags and put them in the upper part of the cart she was putting my stuff into. Then when she finished putting the groceries in the cart she pushed it far away to get it out of her way. And just handed me my receipt and went on to the next customer. I then had to get my cart, and start putting my groceries into my bags. It really wouldn't take more than a few seconds to be polite to people. I understand they want to be efficient but she was rude. I don't necessarily expect them to pack my bags but pushing my cart away twice like that annoyed me. Also my wife went into the women's restroom and she said that someone had been sick and threw up in there, and it hadn't been cleaned. Gross. read more

Been shopping here since they opened up. The quality of fresh produce has diminished quite a bit. The amount staff on deck has dipped which leads to trouble when you have customers dunking regret items everywhere except their appropriate place. The cashier system is pretty efficient and they lay out boxes in a bin near the registers for customers to use instead of purchasing bags--NEVER saw this kind of courtesy at the Aldi's in IL. In all this time I have yet to run into a bad customer service experience. This would be a 5, but...just...please do something about the quality/upkeep of your fresh produce section. read more

Stopped in the El Centro Ca store at 6pm. First visit to a Aldi store. It will be my last. I left my cart sitting there. One checker and 7 people in line. I had 3 items that would have saved me about $2.50. My time is worth more to me after a hard day at work. Told the checker it wasn't her fault it was poor management. Sure it saves a little money but it costs you in your personal time which to me is more valuable then a few bucks. Their prices are lower at the price of the customers time. read more
