Located on the corner of Stirling and University, this Aldi shares the corner with an auto parts store rather than in the traditional strip mall I've usually seen Aldi's in. This location can be hit or miss on inventory. Sometimes the shelves are packed and other times there can be large empty pockets in many of the departments (meats, dairy, grocery, etc.). Staff is there but usually not out and about looking to be available. They do have a great selection of specialty cheeses and a lot of dairy options that are reasonably priced. Mainstream items that you can find in other stores are not where the bargains are. Aldi has a cult following similar to Trader Joes, but I don't quite understand it. It has some positive qualities but definitely takes some getting used to. I usually do small shops and bring in my own bags so I don't have to deal with the quarter shopping carts. read more

While Trader Joe's has great prices, Aldi will beat them and just about everyone else's prices every time. If you want to save money on groceries Aldi's is a great way to do it. In order to bring you those low prices Aldi's has instituted some cost cutting measures. If you want a cart you will need to bring a quarter and to get your money back you need to return your cart from the parking lot back to the store saving employees from having to collect the carts. You will also have to bring your own bags or pay for theirs. Lines will most likely be long because they keep their staff to a bare bones minimum. Best of all is the check out. To get people through the line more quickly they will literally throw your groceries into the cart they keep chained at the check out. You will frantically try to grab your items out but will never be fast enough. Fortunately a lot of stores have now added self checkout which makes the process a lot faster. This store does have self check out. This Aldi's is located on University Drive in Cooper City near the new Monterra development. I popped in to pick up a few things and I love checking out different Aldi's because they all have unique inventory. I am addicted to aldiallthetime on Instagram and am always on the hunt for the new finds. Things I have to get every week include their bottled green tea, K-cup French roast coffee, Fit 50 less sugar orange juice, bagged kale, snapdragon apples, and fun snacks. The Easter candy is in and they have an entire aisle full. Also new in the Aisle of Shame is a lot of organizational items, gardening decorations, and planters. The ladder planter is a really hot item right now. This Aldi's had frozen baked goods like an apple pie and croissants that I haven't seen elsewhere. Speaking of frozen items, the Oreo ice cream bars look really good. I also discovered the caramel K-cups. Shop on Wednesday for best selection. read more

I have always loved shopping at Aldi's. So when I saw they had a delivery service I was actually excited. Boy oh boy was I wrong. The app starts like all the other apps but there are a few problems; 1. They charge you a bag fee of .12 per paper bag. My order was delivered in a box. If you add that fee of .12 cents per bag to every order and deliver it in a box. That is fraud. And if you don't deliver that bag times 1 million customers. ALDIs made $120,000 free and clear fraudulent. 2. The price you see on website is not the price you pay. I bought chicken on website that said 7.97 and they picked up a package that was 5.97 and did not give me the difference. As with Walmart delivery you add the tip or change the tip. ALDIs you are locked in to keeping the tip. They charge a service and delivery fee. I will not be using their delivery service ever again. read more

I've been to a few locations in Broward, and in my opinion this is one of the cleanest and most organized. You can find some brand names here, as well as their house brand food items. I've got to try several of their own products over the years and thought them to be very good compared to some of the more recognizable brands. Whenever I am preparing a charcuterie board for parties this is my go-to place. You cannot beat their prices for many of the items needed to make a proper board. The staff is professional and tries to get you in/out quickly at check out. I would avoid high traffic times if possible. My favorite time to come is early in the morning or after the "after school" rush on a weekday. read more

Aldi is a great place to grocery shop if your on a budget. they have all the items you need for you daily meals and snacks. they tent to have many sales on select items and usually bet the competitors prices. The location is so popular that some time they run out of items and the shelves look empty. now they have updated the cahiers to include self check out so your no standing in a single line waiting to cash out. Make sure you bring you own reusable bag to put you groceries in as they do not use plastic bags. Also remember to bring a quarter to use the shopping carts. the only issue i see is that they do not have a lot staff to help you with check out or questions. but that helps keep the cost down of items on the shelfs. read more

I come to visit this Aldi at the very least twice to 3 times a week. I actually find it difficult to shop for my basics any where else. Some produce is as much as 50% less expensive at Aldi than anywhere else. If you need milk, eggs or basic veggies this is definitely where you should start your food shopping. Aldi does not have everything by far, but they certainly can help you save a lot of money. They do have meats and cold cuts and cheeses too. Also a good variety of frozen goods. One negative is that they do not have all the same foods every week. If they have a special and it is something you like be sure to stock up. It may not be there the next time. I definitely recommend giving Aldi a try if you haven't yet. read more

This particular Aldi is unkempt--causing the products to appear unsanitary--and lacking in quality, let alone QUANTITY! I understand that they sell discounted goods, but come on now...why are 70% of your refrigerator shelves barren on a Tuesday at a little past noon? Customer service isn't the greatest either. Ask for something, and employees point towards random aisles or shelves, leaving you to play a game of "Find It" among the chaotic shelves riddled with products seemingly tossed around carelessly. This sheer sight makes you want to leave. Oh, and only 1-2 cash registers are ever open at a time, so hopefully, you are not famished or in a hurry because you will be waiting in that line forever, regardless if you have 1 item or 50! read more

Aldi is a quirky food chain that I like dropping in on once in a while. This location was much like the rest. I enjoy the German chocolates and pastries. I also am addicted to the Pane Turrano from Chicago. It is a huge round crusty italian loaf. It is best to keep it frozen and toast slices as needed. I am not a fan of their produce. It is usually lower quality. Their version of Blue Moon is actually really good. I don't mind bringing bags, using a quarter in the cart and bagging my own groceries. I do mind the really long lines and they usually only have 2 lines open. read more

We started shopping at this ALDI a couple months ago. Honestly, we checked out an ALDI in Tamarac and maybe spent 2 minutes in there because it looked like the products were complete garbage. The reviews looked really insightful here so we took the bait. I'm not sure if the time in between our visits involved upgrades or maybe we were at a ghetto one but we were amazed our first time here. The store is rather small but also clean and well kept. I never observed staff walking around to either stock or assist customers. You have to make sure you bring a quarter so you can get a shopping cart. You receive your quarter back when you return the cart. A giant FYI- make sure you bring your own bags/boxes/baskets to bring your groceries home. They do not supply bags for free. If you need bags, they are ten cents each. Luckily, I try to keep reusable bags in both our cars to avoid using plastic. I'm sure this information was on a review previous to me but I over saw it. Another piece of information that may be helpful for first timers, the cashiers are fast! They directly load your groceries into the cart after scanning. They are super fast at scanning groceries! There is an area after the cashiers where you can bag your groceries in a bag or whatever. I must say most of the customers are like zombies and that part sucks. This place is better than other cheap places around and the quality is pretty good. We stocked up for hurricane season and planned our healthier meals here. read more

Interesting market. I was expecting a bit more after raving reviews from co-workers. Perhaps my expectations were too high. This market features some European grocery items. Some are "inspired" by European items, but created in the US by ALDI. Many items looked familiar, but are off-brands, although they did have Funky Buddha beer at a nice price. I had hoped for a meat counter, but all meats were packaged, many vacuum sealed. The breads are, similarly, commercial brands, packaged. And, the produce was substantially not local or even from the US. The garlic is from China; I stay away from that due to common problems. I was able to find some plastic-wrapped Florida tomatoes. Variety was limited. On the positive side, the market is neat and clean. Their carts require a quarter to unlock, which keeps them organized and out of the parking lot.... don't forget a quarter! (We got ours from a Good Samaritan- and left it on the wall by the cart pickup to help someone else). Prices are pretty good, but I don't know what the comparison is with these brands. They do seem to have a fair selection of organic products, which is nice. On checkout they offer paper bags at 10c and plastic at 7c... it would be wise to bring your own bags. After checkout, you take the cart to a long shelf and bag up your purchases.... a pretty efficient system. We commonly shop at the massive Food Town Asian and world market a couple of miles east, so I imagine we'll happen by here again. read more

Aldi, in the time I've been away from this store has improved tenfold. My first (and assumed to be last) trip here was a horrid experience. My last review talked about how unkept the store was, and how poor the customer service felt. But since then, everything has been greatly organized and the customer service isn't nearly as bad as it was before. There's actual order to the store, aisles aren't blocked off and everything just feels less suffocating. On 6/13 I went shopping to this store in cooper city, I had a lot of items in my cart and walked up to the cashier named Mimi to ring up my items. She then proceeded to tell me that register was cash only and instructed me to a self service register. I then saw her ring up another customer that paid with a card, when asked her why she told me it was a cash only register, she said to me that management has instructed her to direct customer to self pay registers as much as possible since they need to meet a quota of 80% at those registers. I told her that she could have just rang my order instead of lying to me. She then told me to relax and that it was no big deal and proceeded to ring my items at the self pay with a attitude and being very disrespectful. On the mean time the other register has somebody waiting to help her since she was too busy arguing with me telling me that she is doing what she was told by management. At that point she got he manager. He then doubled down on what she was saying and took zero accountability for ruining my customer experience. I didn't get an apology for what happened from anybody in the store. I informed the manager that I had a terrible migraine and had recent back surgery and that why I didn't want to ring my stuff. He then said that for handicap customers they ring items. So at that point I was furious, he is calling me a handicapped person when I am not. He kept saying the word handicap throughout our conversation. This whole fiasco ate up most of my lunch hour and I left very upset. This manager and cashier need some serious coaching on how to handle customers. I will never step foot on any of these grocery stores again, I am very disappointed in the staff. read more

Took a little stop after work to buy a couple of items. This store is usually busy around 6 PM. I have been to this Aldis more than once. Its before getting home and the prices are reasonable for items you may be looking for. Today it was less busy due to the rain. I found parking up close to the store thankfully. The store changed the aisles around since November 2018. The store is not that big. I would say it is the size of a Walgreen's store. Items are shelved nicely. Customer service is at request, not as friendly walking in or offering to help with your needs. The staff seems to be very into getting shelves stocked up. The fruits and vegetables I feel are a great price. I purchased some wine and snacks. The wine also has points on if it really voted good next to the prices. They have beer of different flavors for those beer lovers. You would need to bring your own recyclable grocery bag or purchase some bags they have available at the register. The lines was long when I walked up to it, but they quickly opened up one more line to customers. Be prepared with your grocery recycle bags and waiting in lines. Its worth it. read more

I was in need of a loaf of bread. While driving along Stirling Rd., I did a quick search on Yelp for the nearest Aldi store and found one just a few blocks ahead. This Aldi location was on the corner of Stirling Rd. & University Dr. There was plenty of parking around the premises and the store has a large variety of items such as grocery, bread, fruits & vegetables, packaged meats, frozen items, and many more. The prices are low and affordable. There was one cashier at checkout and once he realize the line was getting long, he called another associate to open up a register. The cashier that rang up my item was friendly. Same scenario at Aldi - you need a quarter to unlock a shopping cart then lock back the cart to get the quarter back, and you need to bring your own tote bags and pack your own groceries. I prefer the Aldi location on State Rd 7 (441), it's better organized. If I'm ever here again it's only because I'm in the area. read more

I finally decided to check this supermarket out. Per family members I was told it was extremely cheap and yes they were right. They don't have all of the selections of a larger super market but they have your main pantry and cold items. The items here are their store brand I purchased some spaghetti and pasta sauce and some snacks as well as pork chops. I Haven't tried them yet but that will determine if I come back or not. It's a pretty small supermarket so you find yourself going in and right out without buying the extra unnecessary things. Just make sure you take your reusable bags and a quarter for the cart which will be returned to you when you put the cart back in its place. read more

Love ALDI!!! They have the basics for great deals! Definitely a great store for those who have tight budgets. I came to the store and right away loved the idea of depositing a dollar to get a cart which you will get back when you return the cart. Such a simple idea keeps the place free of carts and saves up employees to work in the store. Walking into the store I noticed that they have a pretty simple layout that's easy to follow. There are some cons to the store. Their produce may not last as long as other products (such as produce from Walmart or publix). Additionally, they tend to run out of meat, some veggies and fruits quickly. I try to go in the morning to make sure it's and lol there. Finally, just a tip, make sure you check the eggs before or us chasing them. Some have been known to be broken prior to purchase. All in all this store is a nice place for your initial trip for groceries. If you don't like things there or it doesn't have what your looking for you can always buy those select things from other stores. To me shopping at this grocery store has definitely helped me stay within my budget and even place some money into saving. :) read more

My first and last visit! First, welcome to Aldi! Got a quarter? Get a shopping cart and begin your tour. No one around to help. Fruit cups from China? Bring your own bags or pay for them. Pack your own groceries after they quickly toss them into your cart. After all that, load them into your car and back to the carts to get your quarter. You have to really work hard to save a few cents. To top it all off, after I arrived home, I found that they had charged me twice for packaged meat. (My fault, I guess?). Try to call the store? ALDI needs to get there customer service together and retrain their staff or hire new staff that are pleasant and can deliver quality customer service. They are turning into Walmart but much worse!! I'm literally in my car writing this review so that upper management can be notified immediately!! They have over five cashier lanes and only one cashier open. The other male cashier was sitting at the register and when i walked up i noticed the closed sign and started walking towards the other lane and when he yelled out CLOSED !!! Yes it's obvious you are no need to state the obvious however if he were to say it in a different manner or tone would of been nice, perhaps " ma'am this lane is closed you can be serviced in the next lane" would of been nicer. The store is turned upside down, shelves are empty , shopping carts filled with returns , dead flowers and my unhappy cashier Lang T was so busy bashing the store staff with customers about the rotten meat being sold & returned and co workers swapping days off without notice that she had to work the day her husband had mouth surgery she was definitely in a bad mood , speaking very loud and aggressive and not even a gracious hello was said to me when it was my turn to be serviced. My items were scanned in such an aggressive manner that it really was mind blowing and only the time i was acknowledged and spoken to was when she told me the total in which i stuck my debit card in to pay and as soon as the receipt printed she put the receipt in a small box i had put my veggies in and never looked at me to say have a nice day or thank you for shopping at ALDI. What complete disregard for customer service and lack of respect was displayed is completely unacceptable. So I stumbled upon 3.5 stars for this location when I was looking up their hours and thought, "WTF, they have a lower review than the Pines location," which I can say the management there is definitely not as good as it is at this one. Granted this one is new. Aldi is a German chain that exclusively produces and sells their own private label. They do get weekly items from brand name distributors, which is obviously discounted to them. I hear many of the brand name items are produced in the very same factory and the taste will prove that. You're just paying more to offset the branded company's advertising cost and shelf space at the supermarkets. Aldi is not a one stop shop. They purposely don't carry 10 brands and varieties of peanut butter for a reason. They don't give plastic bags and lend you a shopping cart for 25 cents because un-be-know-eth to most grocery shoppers, Publix and Walmart actually factor that into the price of their items. Also, when you return the cart you get the 25 cents back because it saves them having to have an extra employee fetch your carts. You do want your quarter back, right? That's also why their layout is like Costco where they don't shelf items. Also, why they don't accept credit cards. That is how Aldi saves and can transfer that savings to you. Aldi can be a hit or miss when it comes to produce and seasonal items. They run out of produce or items even, produce does not look fresh and/or turns bad rather quickly. They don't refrigerate their produce (NOT meat, of course they refrigerate that) because they get daily shipments. Guess it saves them an extra fridge, too. So one week I'll find treasures like organic items or super cheap fruit, and the next week maybe not so much. It just makes for an interesting shopping trip for me. Never know what I will get except their staples which I stock a few because I know they can sometimes run out as mentioned. Oh, and I really don't want to get into how the line can be so slow if someone in it doesn't realize they don't accept credit cards or just requires more attention. That's my minus star. Today I bought 2lbs of red grapes for $2.29, organic chicken stock, ketchup and spaghetti sauce are $1.79 (everyday items). There's a lot more that I don't feel like typing out today. Let's just say for the items they do carry and especially the organic and season items it is by far cheaper than Walmart much less Publix and/or Whole Foods. I typically go to another location but I wanted to check this one out. It's a bit smaller than the one in Deerfield Beach and not as well stocked in my opinion. The woman stocking shelves was throwing boxes every which way blocking the aisle for customers. She seemed less than thrilled to be there on a Sunday evening. All that aside, the produce prices are fantastic! We also got an extra large cheese pizza in the refrigerated section for $4.99. I have to say it was excellent! We picked up a few other staple items and $45 later we had a ton of things. $45 doesn't seem to go as far at Publix. The cashier was super friendly, which balanced out the other employee. For those not familiar with Aldi, you pay 25 cents to unlock a shopping cart. You get your quarter back once you return it. The stores operate with about 3 staff members so you've got 1 cashier, 1 person stocking, and 1 person doing anything and everything. You bag your own groceries so bring reusable bags or you can buy paper bags at 6 cents each. The business model is good if you want no frills! read more
