I am definitely a fan of shopping at Aldi. This location is usually well stocked and organized. Once you shop at Aldi a few times you can learn what to expect on a regular basis. You can't find everything that is in a traditional grocery store, but we could definitely get a weeks worth of meals. Some of our current favorites are the Belgian chocolate chips for baking, the cheese selection, and the peanut butter filled chocolate cookies. For our baby we love getting the yogurt melts and today we tried the frozen broccoli bites and he loved them! I can't believe I haven't reviewed the place I frequent almost weekly! Aldi on Ridge is a great Aldi location with stocked shelves and organized aisle. I grew up going to Aldi with my mom and learned that it had great prices. It's not the biggest selection, but you can find your staples and it's always fun to take a trip down the Aldi special finds aisle. The workers are great. I'm pretty sure Martina is everyone's favorite. She's so friendly and the most efficient at checkout. When I stopped by today, I was shocked to see there are now self checkouts! Six self checkouts and still three (possible) worker checkouts. I haven't been to an Aldi that has self checkout. I always have mixed emotions about self checkouts because they mean less human interaction but can be more efficient. Bring your quarter and your bags and I'll see you at Aldi! read more

I am a fan of Aldi. I had always bypassed this location figuring it wasnt as nice as others and boy was I wrong. I stopped in here on a whim hoping to find several items that were gone in the locations closer to me. Surprise, they had everything I was looking for and more! This store seems to be newly remodeled and bright. It was fairly busy for midday on a weekday, but the service was prompt. The store is clean and organized. There is a large dedicated parking lot. Make sure to bring a quarter to "rent" your shopping cart, and your own bags or totes as they do not provide them. These are just a couple of the many ways Aldi keeps its prices low. If you arent familiar with Aldi it is a store that carries groceries, under their brand name, many of which are actually national brands with a different label for a lot less. There are many high quality items and I can do most of my weekly grocery shopping here for way less. If you are dissatisfied with an item they have a double money back guarantee. As grocery prices rise, Aldi's business should be increasing at an amazing rate. They have mostly their own brand, with some national brands mixed in, but many of their products are as good. I just got a dozen large eggs for $1.59, compared to $1.99 at "that other major chain." Heavy whipping is over $2 cheaper for the quart carton, and butter is also cheaper. When the price of vanilla became crazy a while back, I found that the price at Aldi hadn't changed much at all. It has gone up some, but it's still far lower than at other stores. I'll definitely be shopping at Aldi much more. Don't forget to bring your own bags, and a quarter for access to a cart (You'll get it back). read more

Aldi's offers excellent prices on major items like meat, coffee, cereal, fruits and vegetables. Service can be slow. Tonight, I asked the manager (blond hair) if I could have change for a quarter. She barked at me - and said on aisle 5. When I finished shopping, the line was too long. I asked the manager again if there could be a cashier added. She barked at me twice telling me there was one on its way. No need to bark at customers. That is unprofessional and unpleasant. I would counsel her that her communication needs to be improved. Second time shopping at Aldi since last week, but in a different location (Augusta, Georgia). This location is the same layout as the one in Georgia. Aldi- short for Albrecht Discount, is a global discount supermarket chain based in Germany. It specialises in staple items, such as food, beverages, toilet paper, sanitary articles, and other inexpensive household items. Many of its products are own brands, with the number of other brands usually limited to a maximum of two for a given item. Basically it's the size of a publix or krogers minus the deli/meat/seafood section. If you want a shopping cart, it's $.25 but when you return it back in the front of the store and lock it, you get your quarter back. Also at checkout plastic bags are $.10 a piece. Feel free to bring your own recycling bags. I was very pleased with this grocery store and the pricing. I like that they also carry healthy foods for those who are trying to watch what they eat. My only con is that they only accept cash, check and debit cards (the card logos on the window is something I've never seen). No credit cards. Clean and organized grocery store. Plenty of parking and location is easy access to get in and out of. read more

You can't go wrong with Aldi. They have great prices and it's overall a great shopping experience. I don't really recommend their meat, especially their chicken. It kind of grosses me out but I am picky about what meat I purchase. When it comes to frozen meat it's totally fine. Don't forget your quarter and your reusable bags! ALDI is the best grocery store! We continue to come back to ALDI rather than other grocery stores because the prices are unbeatable! A typical bill at ALDI is around $80 where as a typical bill at Kroger is around $100. ALDI does have a limited selection, however the reasoning is because they pretty much have one or two brands of a speciality item. That makes it much easier to shop as the store is a portion of the size of a typical grocery store. When we shop at ALDI, we can do our grocery shopping in 15/20 minutes compared to much longer at a regular grocery store. Keep in mind, a majority of their items are an "off brand" but they taste just as good for a portion of the price! read more

I'm going to keep this short. Aldi is awesome. Great prices and quality. We save significantly compared to shopping at Kroger. The Aldi parking lot is insane so look both ways and walk/drive defensively. In comparing this Aldi to the Newport, KY one, I would say that this location is bigger and has more items (hello alcohol section!), but on the downside, it appears to be a little more unorganized and "messy". I won't hold anything against it and would be happy to shop here again. read more

This is a great grocery store. Besides having better prices than all the other grocery stores around here, the Aldi company stocks its shelves with only added msg-free foods. They also have a lot of organic fruits, vegetables, meats, etc that are at prices significantly below Whole Foods and Kroger's comparable products. This is my go to grocery store for feeding my family. The prices allow me to get a greater variety of healthy foods while staying within our food budget. I can't always get everything I'm looking for here, but there are usually only 3 or 4 things on the list that I have to stop at Kroger to get. I think it was around 7 months ago that Aldi introduced their own line of baby products. Their diapers, wipes, food pouches and puffs are consistently the lowest priced in my area and they also are some of the most natural. read more

Aldi is a superior business and grocery store, because it is a FREAKING GROCERY STORE. I like walking through a market without walking a mile to get the things I need. Other grocery stores be like "Oh you're looking for bottled water, walk past the jewelry store and the waterslide and it will be to your right." Aldi is always priced right (eggs as low as 69 cents a dozen and great selection of inexpensive wines and cheese) and the staff is always friendly and well spoken. Really like Aldi's. They have gourmet cheese, wine and beer. The prices are crazy cheap on everything, especially their weekly special meat deal. We have gotten various cuts of steak, filet, ribeye, for half or less than half of the price we would have paid at Kroger, for just as good quality. They have special items on sale each week in a theme, like Italian or healthy food, and may only have those specialized products for that week. They will also carry items that are only seasonal. Surprisingly, they have a lot of gourmet items too, flavored vinegarettes, imported crackers and cookies at times. They will also have seasonal non-food products such as items for the patio or back to school. Stock is limited as the store is much smaller than a typical grocery nowadays. Health and beauty items are very limited. You must pay 25 cents to use a cart, which is returned when you return the cart. You have to buy or bring your own shopping bags & credit cards aren't taken. read more

I've never been to an Aldi before, but after hearing how cheap they are I finally decided to stop by. There are a few quirks about this grocery store that you should know before arriving: - To get a shopping cart you need a quarter. You insert the quarter into the lock and it releases the shopping cart. When you're done shopping, you return your cart and get your quarter back. I find this incredibly inconvenient because I often don't have change, but I happened to have a loan quarter in my cup holder in my car that came in handy. - They do not provide shopping bags. Bring your own with you! - The layout of this store is weird because packaged foods are first instead of produce. It's hard for me to know what I'm going to cook if I don't see the produce first, so I almost had to go backwards in the store. - Don't go into Aldi with a set recipe in mind. You have to be willing to adapt to whatever is on sale that day. For example, I needed green bell pepper for a recipe, and I assumed they would have that but they only had three packs of red/orange/yellow peppers. Prices for some items are on par with Kroger but occasionally you'll find exceptional deals. Here are a few of the deals I got this week: - Dozen large eggs $0.58 (normally around $2 at Kroger) - Bananas $0.30 per lb (normally $0.50-$0.60/lb at Kroger) - Large pumpkins for $2.50 each (currently $3.99 at Kroger) - Fair trade single origin coffee for $4.50 (normally around $6+ at Kroger) I'll come back because the prices are really good, but I wish they made the shopping experience a little more convenient. read more

This Aldi is great and I'm lucky that I work right next door and can just pop in for some groceries on the way home or for a quick lunch or snack. If you haven't checked it out after the renovation, you'll definitely have to. They've upped their selection of organic produce and other goodies. Although my one complaint is that the layout now is not very intuitive with the produce way up front, which sometimes makes it hard to move around. read more

I rather like shopping at Aldi. They're inexpensive, and usually a lot less crowded than the big box stores, especially when you're only stopping in for a few items. That's exactly why I stopped at this location, and it was my first time at this one. It was on the way, so I said why not? Being a couple of days before a big holiday, I expected it to be a little busy, and it was, but I didn't mind. I went in for 3 items, got my little things, and went right up to the register. First in line. That never happens! If you're familiar with Aldi, you know that they all have 4 or 5 checkout stands with only one in use at any given time. Sometimes they'll open two, but that's only when the line backs up to the bread and milk, which is all the way at the back of the store. Anyway, I really wanted to take my 3 items and go home, but there was nobody there at all. No cashiers! I waited for about 5 minutes before someone showed up. I asked a passing employee what was going on, where was the cashier and he said "I dunno..." and walked on. When the cashier did stroll out, she acted like checking out my 3 little itmes was a pain in her butt. Rude. I like Aldi. I really do. But this location I can do without. I probably won't shop here anymore. read more

Not a bad grocery store especially for the prices compared to Kroger. Sometimes there can be a long line but that is usually shortened after a minute or two once the cashier working calls for backup. Clean, mostly friendly staff. No complaints here. read more

Recently a couple of the "healthy living bloggers" that I read regularly started talking about Aldi and how great it was...how they came out with an organic line and had beautiful produce, etc etc. Ever since then I've been wanting to give it a second chance and yesterday while driving by one I decided to stop in. Yikes. I need to remember anyone will say anything if they are paid to. I can't understand why anyone would go here. The prices don't seem significantly lower than buying the store brand at Kroger or another nicer grocery store? I decided since I was there I would at least buy some wine, cheese and crackers for a get together I have this week. The one register that was open and apparently the only person there working said, "we don't sell alcohol on Sundays, do you still want the other stuff?" When I said yes, he left for about 5 m inutes and then came back in with like 10 carts from outside. I had 4 things. He threw (seriously, threw) my crackers into a cart then threw all of the blocks of cheese I had right on top of the crackers...it was almost like he was aiming for them? Anyway, I haven't even tried the food yet, but I know enough to say I won't go back and I'm not really sure why anyone would? read more
