Thank You Thursday Review…read more Evergreen Park Farmers Market is one of my favorite places.  Open Thursdays from 7 am to 1 pm -  May thru October, I sure miss them from November thru April! My favorite vendor is Dotson Farm, where I purchase herbs and flowers for my garden in May/June. A variety of vegetables are enjoyed throughout the season. In 1982, a naked boy walks around asking animal how many licks does it take to get to the center roll of a tootsie pop. Most people and animals have a tendency to bite down, and in this case, the wisest creature in this ad is the owl. He couldn't make it past 2 before biting. I saw there was Study done with different people and still the numbers are up and down on the number of licks. Guess the world will never know. I myself remember eating these Tootie Blow Pops for a while, but I got confused one day which candy I was sucking on. I wanted the lollipop with the gum in the center and picked the Tootsie Roll Lollipop instead. From that point one, it was Charm Blow Pops for me.  I never liked the taste of a Tootsie Roll candy myself.  Maybe because I did not care for the chocolate taste. I recall these candies were generally the last candies to be eaten or thrown into the trash after my Halloween candy was consumed.  Its is a little humorous that at one point in time, these two companies were at war, and now they are together under one roof. It's kinda like  how Coke could have owned Pepsi at one point during the Cola Wars, but they failed and Tootsie Roll didn't.  The world my still not have an answer to the undying question Tootsie Roll asked, but the licks just keep on coming.

I believe this may be the largest grocery store I've been to in the area. It seems larger than Jewel, but I may be wrong. Mariano's has great meat! I love the steak, burgers, and even their sausages. I tried their fresh squeezed orange juice, and honestly- Berkots' is better. Regarding prices, this store seems to have some more upscale items and thus more costly. But some regular items are priced well. My boyfriend commented on how he couldn't find any cheap cereal- he eats the knock offs brands and noted how there were some cereals at Mariano's that were $7 (more than he'd ever pay for cereal).
