Aldi is one of my favorite grocery stores . Being German and French, I love that I can find European goodies and fresh fruit for a lesser price than Whole Foods or Publix. This is the most chaotic ALDI I've ever been to. The self checkout lanes are not intuitive and there was a line even though there were open self checkout registers tucked away in the back corner. The one cashier lane that was open, the lady was dealing with two people complaining for being rang up for each other's stuff, another employee complaining that someone "stole" their cart, and someone who needed help with self checkout. No employee seemed to understand the issues at hand and blew everything out of proportion. The store itself was organized but somewhat unclean. I ended up getting their cold foam and some instant coffee, which I like for making espresso martinis. The cold foam was unexpectedly on sale, which was nice, but I would not return to this particular location. read more

Don't sleep on Aldi! If you are new to Aldi, know that you will not find all your name brand favorites, however their brand is just as high quality with a lower price tag! Their produce, meats, and dairy, are always fresh and I love their seasonal items as well! A note about this location: the store design is very nice, however it is always PACKED and the parking lot can be hectic. I am a big fan of Aldi and understand the cart and bag thing. I know that items are often limited and brands are 75% store brands. Aldi is great! This location though.... not so much. I have to say if the 6 or so Aldi stores this is my least favorite and a last resort to go to. Staff seems always unpleasant compared to any other Aldi around. Store is often much messier than others. That said.... why would I go here? Well because they always seem to have things that are sold out in the other stores and many times it is on clearance. Yes Aldi clearance! I can only guess it's because others may feel the same way and just don't go to this location. And yes Parking is tough here too but that's no fault of the store. read more

This location is in the middle of a remodel so I'll look forward to heading back when there done and it's all complete. In the interim it's a bit difficult to shop here. The entryway sidewalk on the left side is blocked with a fence, meaning you'll have to walk in the roadway (at a busy stop sign) to get into it, unless you park in the busy lot in front of it. To be honest I couldn't figure out the cart situation, and they were all locked together, and I was carrying the baby so that was frustrating. They don't offer hand baskets either. At least not that I could find. Inside, like I said, is being remodeled so it's mostly packed into one small section. The basics are all there though. They had diapers, wipes and food pouches, which is what I needed. All for just ten bucks, so can't beat that! Overall: B- Looking forward to the remodel and am updated review at that point. It's a small store with a limited selection, but good selection none the less. The location is great! Self check out is available, as well as personable check out. The employees weee very nice and knew where everything was located and helpful on the self check out machines. This was a great first experience with an Aldi. Will definately continue to shop here! Aldi advertises low prices and good quality groceries, and they definitely deliver. Yes you do have do pay 25 cents for a shopping cart (you get it back when you return the cart) and bring your own bags, but that's how they keep the low prices. If you're looking for variety, then this place is probably not for you as they have only a couple types of each food item. For example, take your pick from two types of almond milk - original and vanilla. The grocery chain has its own brand of products. Some of the products that I quite enjoy are the vanilla almond milk, mixed nuts, bagged spinach, and cheese. They also have hazelnut dark chocolate (with whole hazelnuts) which is delicious and a brand of $3 wine that is actually pretty decent. There are some products that they do not sell or are seasonal, so you'll have to make a trip to your big box store for those items. The Aldi type of shopping experience actually works better for me as fewer products make the decision making easier. I also don't have to worry about scrambling for coupons as the prices are all very reasonable. read more

My, how Aldi has grown: from one or two stores where cash was king (and queen, and prince - i.e., the only form of payment) to a burgeoning niche-ish grocery store where they now take credit and debit card payment, where more and more people are doing their grocery shopping, or at least supplementing it. So, get past the fact you have to "loan" a shopping cart, the unfamiliar no-names (mixed in with many brand name items), and the occasional long wait at check-out, and see whether they fit into your needs. Even though they have good stock on hand for their specials, some of them could go fast. Not that I'm going to do it regularly, but I've even bought meat here! The clerks are friendly and VERY efficient - so, when you line up at the checkout, peeps, be on your tip-toes! read more

My fiancé and I are big Aldi fans, and have happily converted many friends. Although the Altamonte Springs Aldi has a better layout and selection, the Casselberry Aldi is more convenient--so we tend to wind up there. (IMO, New Smyrna's is hands-down the best in Central Florida.) Until recently, we haven't had issues with quality, but in these COVID-19 months we've had a string of them from the Casselberry location. Including: hazelnut spread missing its protective seal; moldy Swiss cheese (unopened, and months before the sell-by date); romaine lettuce that rotted a week before the sell-by date; and, most recently, sealed, unopened hummus that went rancid several weeks before the sell-by date. Fortunately, Aldi has a fantastic quality guarantee and return policy--which is "twice as nice" for applicable Aldi products. It states: "If for any reason you are not 100% satisfied with the quality of any product, we will gladly replace the product AND refund your money." (www.aldi.us/en/about-aldi/return-policy/) So today, with receipt in hand, I tried to get the replacement and refund for the rancid hummus (which sported the Aldi "twice as nice" branding on the side of container). The check-out staff member asked if I had used it, and I pointed out the bulging-but-intact plastic seal and said I hadn't, but it had clearly gone bad. The staff member said I could replace the hummus, but it didn't qualify for refund part of the "Twice as Nice" guarantee--because the guarantee is only for products that had been opened and tasted. The staff member cheerfully explained this was meant to encourage customers to try new products. (And replace and refund with no $ loss if undesired.) I said I appreciated this generous business practice, but the "Twice as Nice" policy on the website clearly states replacement and refund "for any reason." The staff member told me it didn't, I said I was pretty sure it did, they told me it didn't, and so on--until I offered to open the hummus and pretend I had tasted it in order to get the refund. The staff member then humored me and gave me the full "twice as nice" replacement and refund. So it ended well for me, but I remain annoyed that the staff member wasn't fully educated about Aldi's gold-star quality guarantee. (I have a long career in public relations and perhaps I get more frustrated than other shoppers by things like this.) This interaction isn't going to stop my fiancé and I from shopping at Aldi, or even dissuade us from this Aldi location, but I disliked being put in the position of having to argue about a return policy that Aldi widely touts--and about which I knew more than an employee. However, I do appreciate that the staff member was polite and cheerful throughout. TL;DR: Aldi needs to better educate staff about its fabulous return policy. read more

This morning I went to aldi around 9:30. I saw chickpea salads were on sale for $.99 from their original price of $2.99. I decided to purchase 4 because of this sale. I checked out. Later, while I was wondering why my Aldi run was more expensive than I thought it would be, I realized that I was charged full price for those 4 salads. I decided to run back, grab something else, and have the price difference fixed. The cashier I encountered was apologetic and said she would refund me the difference for those salads. When she called a manager over, I could tell immediately that the manager was extremely rude to her employees. She walked up with a scowl on her face demanding to know what the problem was. When the cashier told her the issue, And the manager straight refused to give a refund and insisted I was lying. She said that there was no way I saw that sign because she took it down at "9:05 this morning." I responded with "I'm not making it up, how would I know that they were discounted if I didn't see the sign? That was the only reason I even bought them." After an UNNECESSARY amount of back and forth where she continued to imply I was a liar, she begrudgingly typed in a code, muttering "I'll only do this for one item" and stormed off. I asked the cashier if that meant I was only getting one salad for .99 or what, because I had bought 4. The cashier apologized and said all 4 were discounted now. She said "I'm not sure if she (the manager) is coming back...." And we stood waiting for a few seconds before she just decided to refinish checking me out. Never have I experienced such an incredibly rude manager who would accuse me lying? Which I still don't understand because how would I have even known about the discount if I was lying?!? That female brunette manager (didnt catch a name) has no social skills and should not be in her position. She was extremely confrontational, rude, and illogical. Super frustrating that the chip reader for Chase debit cards is a hit or miss (declines for no reason whatsoever). Staff is usually not friendly. Home of low prices on their own store brands. Very few national brands. This is their business model. Aldi will only carry the top selling items that a home would consume. Like everything else, know your prices. Since Aldi is a based out of Belgium, they will have a lot of products made in Germany. I tried the store brand of wine, not bad for $2.98 a bottle. This is now the closest ALDI to me. They have just started renovations so it's not super convenient at the moment but I look forward to when the store is completely updated. The parking lot is a nightmare. The spaces are very small and the aisles are narrow and it can be a bit frightening at times so beware. As with most ALDI's they have great produce and dairy prices, and you won't find a whole lot of brand name items. But they do rotate out a lot of cool household items for the bathroom, bedroom, kitchen, and outdoors. They usually have some great weekly specials and it's rare that I don't stop in at least once a week. I think the staff here is nicer than at some locations I've been to, but they aren't always super friendly. Their store brand of paper plates can stand up to a brand name competitor and are much cheaper. Don't forget to bring a quarter for your cart (it gets returned to you when you return the cart) and don't forget to bring your reusable shopping bags. read more

You know we keep trying Aldis different locations and we seem to have fails. We went here specifically for fruit and vegetables. A few of the oranges turned green in like 2 days. I picked up pork and beans and all there was in the can were beans. Gala Apples were hit or miss. Peanut butter low fat and not that bad but would not get again the fat savings vs taste was not enough. I really dont know what keeps this place popular, no name brand items that seem to be subpar with prices that were not far off from name brands. Eggs are .99 cents thats pretty good guess cant screw those up. It was kind of like family dollar but cheaper prices for food without a brand. There must be items there worth wild. My wive says we would never buy chicken or beef there. Those prices are pretty low for meat. Careful with vegetables and fruits I have heard others complain they go bad fast. read more

Oh man I thought the Sanford store was bad. It's 5 stars compared to this one. Where to begin? First of all, even by Aldi standards this store is ugly and messy. The lighting alone makes me queasy. You just feel like you've got the flu as soon as you enter. Second of all, it's laid out terribly. When you first walk in, you absolutely have to walk all the way down one aisle before you can get to anything else. This seems like a fire code violation. At the very least, it's annoying as hell. Thirdly, NOTHING IS LABELED! At every other Aldi store, there are little signs over the aisles and the reefers that say what's where. Not at this store. If you're not a regular and haven't memorized the layout, you're going on a scavenger hunt. Lastly, the produce at this particular store is always janky as hell. Bananas are either brown or green - never yellow. Plus the selection is limited even by Aldi standards. ANother annoying thing is that the front end doesn't have a doorbell for when they have to signal to each other - they have a buzzer. It sounds like the end of the period at a hockey game. Very annoying, and it'll scare you the first time you hear it. I will say the employees are pretty nice and they use the larger size shopping carts here, but that's the only thing this store has going for it. I can't believe a store in such an upscale neighborhood (relatively speaking) is so poor in quality. Upper management should give this location a total facelift. read more

I never had any complaints about the Aldi's back home, but this particular Aldi has upset me and my roommate on more than one occasion. The first time our fruits and veggies expired within a couple of days. The lettuce had to be thrown out after maybe 4 days? The second time. As me and my roommate walked in there at 8:48 (yes, I remembered the time as I knew we were on a time crunch lol), an employee walked by us and said "better hurry up, we close in two minutes!" Uh. Excuse you? She was lying about the time and that's crappy customer service! Not only did that throw us off, but we couldn't grab the juice we needed because all of the fruit/veggie tables were pushed up against the aisle, which meant that we couldn't grab any of those either. All of that was pushed to the side because they were using the big sweeper machine to clean already, WHICH we had to step out of the way of several times. Never once got an excuse me. The employees were obviously hell bent on getting out of there immediately. I understand that we came in late, but to treat us and other customers like we're a bother is ridiculous. read more

This is a copy cat combination of Wal-Mart and Winn-Dixie put in to a 7-11, the stores are so small that there meats come in frozen and they don't have a deli department or a bakery and the only kind of bread they sell is your normal bread like Wonder bread and you have to pay for your bags and for your shopping cart plus no one to bag your grocery's or take you to your car pretty much you have to do it all here except for ring up your own grocery's. This company seems like a cheap organization that only wants to save money by not hiring anyone and not having anyone working that explains why there is no Deli or bakery or meat department and only two registers open up, what stroke me the most is how they allow there employees to sit down while working that is just plain funny they might as well give them a couch to. There prices are not cheap like other people think just because they have that logo of cheap "grocery's" that does not mean they are actually cheap if you look closely there milk is priced the same at Publix actualy it is cheaper at Publix and so is there eggs plus you cant find things that you find in other places such as Publix and what makes this place look even more bad is that there merchandise (dry grocery's) are in pallets...NO SHELFS plus you cant find most name brands like at Publix and there own name brand is never been heard of here so why trust it if it is not well known , it cant get any more worse then having big ugly blue pallets sitting there and i saw no produce in this store . over all i would not trust to buy anything here because if the meat is frozen it probably has been out for a while before it was shipped and nothing here is fresh. read more

This Aldi location has not yet been remodeled like a few others I've been to. It really can use a remodeling. But, you can still get the great Aldi items at the great Aldi prices. They have such a variety of unique items and now I've noticed that they are also selling some name-brand items. Each of the Aldi stores are a little different from the other one according to the community they are built in. It's not as large as a regular supermarket.. they carry a fair selection of good foods, their fruits are normally not bad. However my biggest complaint by far.. is the wait at the check out. I've complained about Walmarts but at least the Super and Market Walmarts in my area also offer the self check out which I often use.. Aldi has four or five lanes and I have always seen just ONE cashier. If you know your longest lines will be when people are heading home (5pm till 630) it's logical to have two or three ready to go. It's highly frustrating and off putting to me. read more

I had never been to an Aldi before so I wasn't prepared with a quarter but make sure you bring one in order to shop with a cart. What allows Aldi to offer low prices on products is there cost cutting everywhere else. By forcing folks to return their carts in order to get their quarter back they no longer need to pay someone to fetch carts from the parking lot. This store can get pretty crowded so it's best to visit early in the morning. Meat and produce have all been great quality at a great price! You may still need to visit a traditional grocery store for your specialty items but Aldi does a great job providing the basics. read more

This place is genius! Most people don't get the concept and practically every time I go there is someone who is confused by their business model. Yup, no bags are provided to the customer. Yes, you do have to deposit a quarter to get a cart and sorry, no deli and minimal staff on the premise. OH MMM GEE! The horror! By forgoing the bags and such, the company is providing the lowest possible cost to the consumer. Sure, you probably haven't heard of the brands they offer but most mimic the well known brands pretty well. As an added bonus, they offer have a "fit n healthy" line that caters to the more health conscious (aka me!). I wouldn't recommend purchasing ALL of your groceries from Aldi, but most of the essentials are available and approved by moi :) This particular location is pretty new and clean and although they only have one cashier, I usually get through the line faster than at Publix or other stores. So, don't forget to bring your own bags (you shouldn't use plastic bags anyways!) and be prepared to save A LOT of money if you do it right :) Oh, and they also don't allow for credit card purchases (debit is ok) - again, another way they're able to save us money! read more

Aldi is so cheap it's unreal. I am very happy with their prices. Love the set up of the store but absolutely hate them not giving bags! I always forget and end up carrying 1,472 things inside from my car. Only one Aldi that I know of has bags they sell inside but still..who wants to pay .10 per bag? I feel like it's worth having no bags considering you are getting amazing milk (hormone free) for like $2.79 for a GALLON, fresh veggies and some things you don't see anywhere else. Love this store! I do most of my shopping at Aldi and love the low prices and the occasional surprise grocery item. This store is conveniently located close to my work and in a busy shopping center. Speaking of busy, this Aldi does have its fair share of long lines. BUT, that being said, if you are an Aldi veteran, it's to be expected. Make sure you bring your own bags and a quarter for the shopping cart. No time for a cart run for the employees, you're doing that yourself! Keep up the low prices and great brands. I find some of the workers there nice and some of them cold and non responsive. I like some of the prices, and some of the prices are not very reasonable. They have a good variety of food and fruits and vegetables. They are concerned with their employees health, And supply them with clubs and a large plastic she'll around their faces, and that's wonderful . However there are no sanitary wipes for the Customers that come in to shop. and when you ask the employee to sanitize their hands after handling a handful of money, they look at you like you're crazy. Because they have gloves on. They don't realize that their hands may be sanitized under the gloves but after handling a handful of money they're touching our products with unsanitary hands.And because money is the filthiest thing you can touch. So they're safe behind the large plastic shield that was put in front of them but as far as the customer goes there is nothing there to keep us safe not even a sanitizing wipe. They should be sanitizing their gloves every time they touch money, And cleaning the belt just like they do in when Dixie. I am very disappointed in their lack of concern for the customer's health. I am glad there is a law in force that only a certain amount of people can go in the store because or it would be a mad house otherwise. read more

I cook a lot of my food from scratch, and the bulk of my groceries come from Aldi. You can't beat the prices for pantry staples, and fresh produce is usually priced better than anywhere else. I loved our store and we HAD the best manager around...he has recently left our store. No longer do we have friendly helpful employees. 2 days ago a new hire girl..VERY rude..an I let her go ahead of me in line..she had something to purchase..her comment to the cashier " where do all these weird people come from"..I just couldn't believe her. Today when I was there a girl was wiping the carts off (good idea). I asked her a question she ignored me..I asked her again..she put her hands in the air andvssud "me don't speak English) REALLY What in the world is she working there if she doesn't speak English. I shop there at least 4 times a week..loved the help and manager. Not now...help is rude..don't answer any questions..what a shame...they better get a manager voile by get had because it's a Totally different store. People make fun of Aldi's but I am saving money and have carefully compared the products I buy there, with those at Publix. I don't buy premade freezer foods, so can't compare that. I paid 1.99 for milk the other day and it was 3.69 at Publix. Tomatoes on the vine- 1.99... I believe they were 3.49 at Publix, exact same 'brand'. Just look very carefully at the fruits & veggies, you will be fine. The cheeses are good and cheaper. Love the hummus. Regular yogurt is good. Have even changed to their coffee ( we mix a decaf & regular for our own 1/2 caff. Oh the powder coffee creamers are good too. There is a greek Grandessa dressing I love and use as a marinade too. the sugar is cheaper, and taste like sugar, imagine that. bread is good too. The only meat I have bought is the Appleton spiral cut ham was very good ( didn't use the glaze, make my own) ( I usually stock up on Winn & Dixie meats, that is all that place is good for, ha) Okay, you get the idea....I see all kinds of people in there, and actually it's more pleasant that Wal Mart. I have always had the employees be courteous to me, even when they are packed busy. Bring a quarter for a cart, and bags...you can usually find a box if you forget. read more
