Neighborhood Co-Op is one of those places you can become a member at and get discounts and other things. Maybe the prices are kind of high, but there's a lot of harder to find items. There's a lot in here for plant based eating, as well as for those wanting to eat healthier, and local. Came to get a few things while on a visit and got more than expected. It's bigger than it looks. There's a lot of aisles, and has a good amount of baked goods, along with some pretty fresh produce. A lot of natural and organic items. They have a lot of the Applegate Farms products if you want organic meats and sausage. Of course there's plenty of plant based. They have non dairy items like nut milks and yogurts. In the bakery there was vegan zucchini bread. The prices in here are kind of high, but if you become a member you get coupons and specials. Has to be a stop if you're shopping for organics around here. It's located in the Murdale Shopping Center on West Main Street. There's a ton of things for vegans and vegetarians.

I'm impressed with this store. It's well stocked with…read more fresh organic produce. There's bulk items one can bag such as nuts, granola, and coffee beans to name a few. All coffee beans are organic. The regular (with caffeine) beans offered are Espresso, Ethiopian, Guatemalan, Columbian, and Peruvian and sell for $15.99/lb. The Decaf beans offered are French Roast and Breakfast Blend for $18.49/lb. If you enjoy baking they have a nice lineup of Bob's Red Mill products including several gluten free, non GMO, flours. King Arthur products are also available, although not as numerous. When I make my homemade chili or spaghetti sauce I use organic Muir Glen whole peeled tomatoes, sauce, and paste. I was happy to see all were available here. The only other product I'll comment on is their ice cream - Alden's. The best ice cream (IMHO) is Alden's Vanilla Bean. It's organic, has all natural ingredients (no high fructose corn syrup), and tastes delicious! It's made in Oregon and I've found that a lot of major chain stores do not carry it. If you get a chance to try it, it's a must! They have a "Hot Bar" where hot food can be purchased separately or as a whole meal. Daily specials are listed on the board behind the counter. While shopping one of the employees asked me if I was finding everything ok. I thanked him and thought it was nice of him to ask. Other employees were busy putting new products and produce on the shelves but took time to say hi and they seemed to be enjoying their work. The setting is in an older building that's part of the old Murdoch Shopping plaza. It's a comfortable feeling while shopping - no hustling and bustling here. Coops are a really great idea and this one comes through with shining colors! It's hard to eat healthy these days but shopping here makes it a lot easier. If you haven't already, please check them out...and eat healthy!

I stopped by here on the way back from Tennessee. I pass it constantly when I go to and from STL…read more As many billboards as they have up, it's not hard to miss them. Diebold is a family owned and operated orchard located in Benton, MO. It is south of Cape Gerardeau by 15 or 20 miles. They have tons of produce. Right now they're in peak season for peaches and sweet corn. In fact, I bought 12 ears of corn for $3. They certainly have a surplus of corn hence why you can buy so much for the cheap. The peaches looked ok. I didn't end up buying any since I had gotten some when I went to the farmer's market when I was home in TN over the weekend, but a lot of them that I saw looked like they had some rotten spots on them. I kind of wish they would have sorted through them instead of mixing the bad ones with the good ones. I did purchase some peach preserves and peach mango salsa. They have hoards of different jams, preserves, salsas, sorghum, honey, candies, breads from the bakery, and anything else you can think of that would come from a country store. All reasonably priced items for the most part. I think they overcharged on the honey. Why would you pay $7 for a 6 oz thing of honey? Maybe I am just stingy. They have green houses that outline the country store. I didn't go in there or anything, but they grow different plants ranging from cilantro to sage. I like it. If you're ever in the area it is worth taking a stop to check out.
