Who doesn't love to save money? I'm a huge fan of this Aldi, it's usually not too busy. I hardly ever have to wait at the self checkout line. The customer service was good; I doubled scanned some grapes and the cashier assisted promptly. The items are well stocked. I always see the employees stocking the shelves. Only one time I went in after dinner and the prepared foods were empty (pizza, lasagna, etc.) Overall, the store is clean and well organized; it's easy to find the items I needed. Don't forget a quarter for the cart and your reusable bags. There is an area where you can bag your food. Also, the parking lot has plenty of spots.

We are very happy that Aldi has finally made it into the Farmington Valley! We've been to their other locations and really loved their rock bottom pricing, which we took full advantage of yesterday. We picked up a gigantic frozen pizza for $4. I picked up a few jars of salsa and cans of soup for under $2 a pop. We got a bottle of honey, a pie crust (85 cents), some beef jerky and a Halloween Yard decoration. I know the pricing was far cheaper than what we normally see at other supermarkets. Having been customers at their other locations, we were well acquainted with the unique quarter deposit feature on their shopping carts, and I helped out a newbie showing him how things worked.

    Elf cereal.

There were plenty of free on-street parking when we went. Since moving to the town of Canton, I have been meaning to make a trip. This past Sunday on Labor Day weekend, I finally made it. There was live music. The market was full of people shopping and vendors. There were produce, British baked goods, mushroom coffee and jerky, maple syrup, books, art, soap, shirts, jewelry, etc. There were plenty of vendors selling all their goodies. We visited each stand and enjoyed shopping and window shopping. We purchased cookies from Calos cookies, scones from the British stand, and maple lollipops from another stand. The Cow's Coop brought a baby cow (calf); it was so cute. After, we went to get coffee at LaSalle's and walked around the town. The weather was perfect, the vendors were friendly, I look forward to going back and supporting more small businesses.

There is just something about Collinsville that resonates with me -it has a laid back Bohemian Hippie Vibe that is hard to put into words. Maybe its the dozens of happy pooches that wander around. Maybe its the ultra friendly vendors. Maybe its the drop dead gorgeous scenery as you look over the Crown and Hammer. Maybe it's all the bicyclists and joggers that are everywhere. Maybe its all that granola and nuts and seeds and tie dye. It's like hard to explain, man..... We bought some corn, and a pizza and biscottis from Collinsville bakery. There are quite a bit of vendors here, most definitely more than when we started patronizing the Market a few years ago. Beautiful fresh produce is available from dozens of stands, plus meats, baked goods, herbs, eggs, you name it. It's a wonderful way to spend a few hours on a Sunday Summer afternoon.

How about turkey, Geese, Ducks, Chicken, Capon, roasts and boneless choices, and even Turducken. In case poultry isn't your thing, you can load up your shopping bag with a ton of other choices, hams, tenderloin, rib-eyes, shrimp, bacon, etc. And what's a nice slab of ham or turkey without the trimmings? No worries, mate, Miller Foods sell a ton of side dishes - both white and red mashed potatoes, Frozen Veggies, cous cous, rice, gravy, even ravioli and meatballs. They have you covered for dessert too. If you're a pie guy or girl, you can revel in their choices of Apple, Pumpkin, Boston Cream, Pecan, Chocolate Cream, Sweet Potato, Mince, Blueberry, Lemon Meringue, Strawberry Rhubarb, Cranberry Apple, and the seductively named Fruits of the Forest and French Silk. They set up a big tent around Thanksgiving and sell any Thanksgiving related goodie you can think of. There were quite a few samples available for your tasting pleasure, and we bought a big can of turkey gravy and a package of cheese because the samples were so good. We also bought a 14 pound fresh turkey for about $3 a pound. We really enjoyed our shopping experience. The store and tent are a lot of fun to wander around in, and the employees we interacted with were all super nice and helpful.

I would have preferred that both turkeys be donated if this is what I would find on my doorstep. Disappointing because other years when we have purchased our turkey through Miller Farms we have gotten a much better value than this year. Chalk this one up as a learning experience. Will not repeat with this program. Fortunately they delivered early enough I have time to make other plans.

It's clean, spacious, has a robotic inventory machine, seems to be organized well, and staff seemed to enjoy their jobs. There is a small flower and plant section, bakery, deli, along with the usual pantry items. Perhaps it's because we went first thing on a weekend but I liked it! And I would rather purchase meat and seafood here than at a Stop and Shop. Sign up for the loyalty card and get those digital coupons. There are also the usual self checkout lanes, with the regular staffed lines. It's also located in a convenient complex with quite a few retail shops and a Panera. Most likely as the throngs of shoppers descend, the experience will degrade accordingly.

They also own Price Rite, which was a very affordable grocery store I used to go to in Rhode Island. This place reminded me of Publix in Florida. There were plenty of cash registers open and I love the self checkouts. The store was large and clean. The bakery section had baked fresh items. I loved the prepared foods section; the smell made me salivate. Pro tip: don't go there hungry. They had rotisserie chicken, prepared sides, sushi, and fresh produce. If you want to preorder a cake, download their app and schedule a pickup. I think the prices were comparable to other standard grocery stores nearby. Overall, a good market to get all your grocery shopping needs.
