I don't know where they sourced it, but I'd guess it may be a local farm. They also had some good quality bananas and other produce staples. The staff person who checked us out was friendly. It was the sort of store that I maybe wouldn't go to every day for family groceries (I'd guess a bit too expensive for my everyday tastes), but I would definitely stop in to browse and get some fun things every now and again.

I forgot 1 thing, there was NO line- she sent the "bagger" to grab it for me- she rolled her eyes & stood there- leaving all my items bagged. After a few moments, I started to bag. I tried to make nice small talk- she didn't engage. I apologized twice for forgetting, there still was no one in her line- she was so cold, and literally almost made me cry- and I'm not faint of heart. I love Trader Joe's so much. It's my happy place. I have never experienced any employee this way in my 30 years of Shopping here. I spoke to the manager, she agreed that wasn't appropriate behavior. She apologized and was very nice to me. I've never seen such a large selection of items in a grocery store deli before... it was honestly slightly overwhelming to pick just a few items to try. The fact is that the owner is a tyrant and doesn't care about customers. Actually the employees have told me. He hates customers! One thing for sure, he cannot afford 30 minutes of my time. And the fact is that I am an elderly individual with multiple medical conditions, including cancer, And immune system problems. I definitely got sick from having to wait 30 minutes to get my refund from a bottle ticket! Absolutely unacceptable!
