This is a review of the Freshpass delivery service, that we've been using weekly for a couple of years. We had suspicions that the drivers are often not the ones announced on the app, and we read in the news that the delivery accounts are rented from the actual delivery account holders. This means some of the drivers coming to our home are not vetted by anyone whatsovever, and may not even have a driver's license. Today we were expecting "Eric" in a Buick Century, but instead we had someone who spoke zero English, and when asked in Spanish, said he's from Venezuela. He arrived in an old, beat-up Japanese sedan. There was no one with him in the car, certainly not "Eric." Usually when a female delivers when a male was announced, she says that he's her spouse.
There are two problems with this situation. One, Albertson's is sending completely unvetted people to our home, and two, these people are exploited by unscrupulous people, possibly organized crime rings.
It's hard to believe Albertson's is unaware. All they need to do is confirm who is picking up the order, and prevent a criminal network from growing.
As for the shopping experience, in the past several weeks we've been experiencing problems with items not delivered, or wrong ones delivered, but we hope that's a temporary glitch, because we'd been happy with the service for so long. read more
