Every single time I go into Albertsons I'm wanting their fresh cut fruit. It all seems like a good idea until I'm starting to eat it. They ruin perfectly good fruit that could have been really good but they either chop their fruit where they cut vegetables or they use the same knife.Every single time their watermelon, mangoes everything tastes like onions. It's disgusting. If I wanted to stuff my face with onions I would have just taken a bite out of one. read more

It's not the screw up, it's the recovery! I'm a fan of the fred chicken in the deli... Guilty pleasure! Today's chicken was over-cooked and heat-lamped to leather. A subsequent call revealed a sympathetic and apologetic manager, an immediate offer of refund or replacement (just bring the receipt, don't being the chicken!) and a polite request that, if transferred to the deli, would I please tell them which chicken to pull off the shelf? No sweat! Plus, when I talked to the deli, they made sure to tell me that I just needed to tell them what happened the next time I came in (please bring receipt) and they'd be happy to replace the chicken. It's a bummer (power bar and cereal for dinner tonight) but the recovery speaks volumes. Thank you Morro Bay Albertsons! read more

Albertson's in Morro Bay has a large deli area w/ prepared chicken, sushi and salads. Perfect for grabbing something quickly, or it would be if you weren't required to go pay & check out in the regular grocery line behind the $200 order, tourists or lunch time students who've walked over from the high school. There are rarely enough checkers however hiring one more to check out in the deli would accomplish what you're in business for.....convenience of CUSTOMERS!!! Remember us? read more

I am very disappointed in the quality of help and lack of customer service this place has started to cater to hiring. I most likely will not go back. I'll drive to Los osos to visit the Ralphs or the Cookie Crock a block down. When a paying customer is ready to check out, you approach the self check out and begin. I did just this. I figured someone just walked out leaving the screen active, so I started my check out. Out of no where the clerk magically appears and screams at me that someone is using the self check out. I apologize and explain I thought it was open. The clerk proceeded to make me feel dumb. I seriously had 4 items. Eventually the woman using the self check out appears. She's actually shopping while checking out. I didn't know one person could monopolize a self check out preventing paying customers to use it. Very annoyed. Went to customer service and of course no one is there to help, and I certainly don't want any further interactions with the woman working the self checkout area. I'll spend my money elsewhere and be treated better. read more

Today, November 8, 2011, I visited the Morro Bay Albertson's Supermarket to get some coffee... I did so, plus a number of other items. --- But upon reaching the check-out I wrote a check for the amount of purchase, $26.86, and it was rejected. I was asked for a picture ID, a valid Driver's License, or a California State ID, but I did not possess any of those items, and my check was refused. === I have lived and had several businesses in Morro Bay for 30 years. I have been an Albertson's customer for the entire 15 years that they have had a store in Morro Bay... My family and my extended family reside in Morro Bay and the local area. Over the years -- They've spent on Albertson's products for each other About $2 each day -- (a conservative estimate) Times 30 days each month = $ 60.00 Times 12 months each year = $ 720.00 Times 15 years of Albertson's = $ 10,800 Times 18 family and my extended family members = $ 194,499 === An adjusted total gave a much larger answer -- $ 492,750 worth of purchased products from Albertson's === This is in no way an excuse for not bring proper ID to the store... === I just wanted to point out the lack of Customer Service... The Manager "Shaun" was unavailable, having not come to work yet... It was a bit early, being only around 9 am in the morning... I was informed that the "Manager" did not have authority to "OK" my check. === My son who was with me, paid cash, and we left with our purchases. === I do not anticipate returning to the Albertson's Supermarket in Morro Bay, which should bring a sigh of relief to the store and it's employees. === I wonder if I got gas at the local gas station, would they fill my tires, check my oil, and wash my windows? Being 73 sucks. read more

I only buy the sales here; too expensive for every day items. But the perhaps it's because you pay for service??? I was really impressed by a young man I think his name was Carl? in the meat dept. Directed me to a better deal than I was originally looking for. read more

I shopped at Albertsons last week on Wednesday between 1 to 3 pm. There was only 2 check stands open and at least 5 customers in each line. One customer looked anxious and after a few minutes just walked away. As I was about to leave my 2 items on a shelf and leave, a checker was walking through behind the check stands, when I asked her if the 3's a crowd policy was still in effect as I saw commercials for albertsons that opens another check stand when there is more than 3 people. The checker stopped right in her tracks and said in a disrespectful manner "Are you next?" ( since one customer had already walked away. I was the 4th customer and another one behind me). Then ignored me and asked the third customer if she could take her ( which I was fine with but her body language was "I'm not helping you". The customer said she was fine waiting and to take me instead ( the checker rolled her eyes) and reluctantly took me. As she was walking to her check stand and I was following her, she ( again in a disrespectful manner) told me she was about to open the check stand when I interrupted her walk to the check stand. I told her there was no need to talk back to me and do her job which upset her more that she started talking back to me again. Again I told her to do her job and stop talking back. I only had 2 candy bars. How simple would it have been to get me the heck out of there. Well that didn't happen! She refused to help me and told me to leave the store. She put my candy bars aside and helped the gentleman in back of me and proceeded to scan his items. I was surprise that she could do that to a customer just questioning their commercial on customer service. I had her call the store manager and let her know I was calling corporate. She didn't blink an eye and called the assistant manager. It took the assistant manager about 5 to 10 minutes to come to the front of the office( it seemed like an eternity as the checker glared at me every chance she could get). When the assistant manager approached me and I explained the situation, she opened a check stand to scan my 2 candy bars and said it would be handled and gave me a coupon for a dollar off. Do you really think I will ever step foot in another albertsons? There is so much competition and I don't mind going somewhere else even if I have to pay more. I go for good customer service. By the way, the assistant manager handed me my receipt and circled the main office number that was stamped to the receipt since I asked for the corporate phone number. By the way, as the assistant was scanning my items, the checker was still glaring at me! I called the phone number and I believe it was another checker that picked up the phone and I believe she said she was in Arizona. The number that I called was not the corporate number and the woman who picked up the phone told me their response time to possibly call me back was 2 days and she had to get off the phone to go open up a check stand. 2 days have passed. No wonder Albertsons has lost so much business! They don't know how to take care of a customer. I also did the survey online and no response from Albertsons. You get a "F" rating for failure to give customer service. You Failed big time. You should be ashamed and realize that is why some Albertsons are going out of business. The 3's a crowd did not work and defeated the purpose. Instead of getting me out quickly, I had to endure a longer time. What double standards they have. A checker refusing me service for questioning the customer service commercial is obviously has a sense of righteousness to think that was her store or she owned it without fear of being reprimanded From her body language and talking back to me showed me she has probably been getting away with a big attitude with management not addressing her lack of customer service for a very long time. I wouldn't want to be her co-worker. She seemed difficult to deal with. Maybe I should feel bad for her fellow co workers. Maybe they are intimidated by her. How sad. read more

What's with that little guy in the liquor/wine section? Every time I go in there he looks at me like I peed in his porridge. Sometimes I'll catch him following me through the store like I'm going to steal something - no, actually I'm going to PURCHASE goods - something I've been doing in your store every day since it opened about 15 years ago - usually to the tune of $20-$50 a day! I guess this guy (John I think is his name - sideburns, slight of build, always chewing gum) must have skipped the customer courtesy training, or maybe you no longer have to show courtesy to customers once you've made it to the big time (Head Bottle Counter). Oh well, in the words of Napoleon Bonaparte: "A true man hates no one." read more

I am from the UK but visited California in the summer. I went to Wells Fargo in Albertsons, Morro Bay to change some pounds into English. Whilst I was in the store, I lost my wallet (containing over 600 dollars of English pounds, plus credit cards and other important things). Tina and Joe in the admin department tracked me down via my bank, made arrangements to send the wallet back to me and wouldn't take a single penny/cent for their trouble or for the postage. The wallet was refused at some point in transit and was returned to them. We agreed a new address for postage and it was sent again, with the same level of good will. I will never forget their kindness and will always think of Albertsons Morro Bay with the greatest affection. Definitely customer service as good as it gets. THANK YOU!!!! read more

The store is remodeled, which is nice. I don't like that they mostly carry their own in house brand, called Everyday Essentials or something. They are carrying fewer and fewer national brands. Also they have long abandoned their three is a crowd policy, whereby they would open a register if more than three people are in line. There always seem to be long lines, and not enough registers open. read more

The self checkout is a clusterf$$$ at best on any given day. If your red light goes on because of the Some staff is friendly some aren't so much. Obvious lack of staff during busy times, long lines. Not a strong manager presence obviously. read more

Why so many negative reviews? This is my go to place if I need really fresh and rare produce. They have many kinds of lettuces and herbs that you won't find else where. Their sushi bar is pretty good if you want something fast and tasty. I like going to the Starbucks because they are very fast and nice service. The best part about Albertsons is their self checkout stands. No other grocery store in the area allows you to check out yourself. It saves be a ton of time. Lastly, if you love potato wedges, you must try these. They are the best, nice and fluffy on the inside and crispy salty on the outside. They work great with the chicken fingers and some ranch sauce. Yum Yum. read more

I used to come here weekly, but lately have been going to Spenser's instead. They used to have packaged sandwiches and salads which were great for a quick lunch pickup, but they've been missing for the past few months. Also, their liquor mark ups are ridiculous. You'd think a supermarket would be cheaper than a liquor store, but that's not the case. The pricing labels irk me, with a large sticker price for buying more than one of an item, and the 'actual' price for a single item much smaller. I can never find quart sized fat free milk, only gallon. The 'specials' stacked on cardboard containers block the already narrow aisles and make it impossible for two shoppers to pass one another. Spenser's is an older store with a smaller selection, but the aisles are wider, it's never crowded, and their deli section is very good. read more

being a retired city and state cop, i tend to observe things most people don't notice. while sitting outside of this albertsons, i saw the manager, john exit the store on the quick step followed by a checker. they were in hot pursuit of a woman pushing a cart of items which she had apparently stuck to her fingers. john was supreme in the way he multi-tasked in the pursuit with the clerk, and the cell phone to the police. as an ex-street cop the smoothness of how john handled the situation reminded me of how we used to put 100's of cops together to move the president in southern california. the albertsons company is lucky to have a manager like john. a. herrera ret.chp motor officer. read more

I have been shopping at Albertsons for years but I have to say that they have gone down hill with customer service. The checkers are nice but the deli is a complete JOKE, I use to be able to put up with it but not anymore! Every time I go in there I wait for such a ling time, not only to get my food but they usually dont even greet me till after about 5 minutes. When they do FINALLY help you they are rude and quick to push me out the door, I cant tell you how many times I have ordered lunch meat or cheese and it wasn't cut as i asked it to be and it is ALWAYS slopped together in a bag that is broken and mismarked. There has been a few times where I had to return my food the same day because it was rotten!!!! There is also a girl named Leslie who stalkes the shelves who is completely rude and frankly a Bitch most of the time. I have asked her on several ocasions to order things for me and she says she will and NEVER does, I have even given her my phone number for when things are ordered so she can call me. She never has!!! The sad part is that I believe she is the manager????????? read more
