I arrived at approximately 10:52 PM before the posted 11:00 PM closing time needing only one item: a package of pecans to finish a birthday cake for my mother, who had just survived major surgery and was turning 90. The doors were already locked. The security guard met me at the door & told me I could not enter because they were already closed & because another customer had already been turned away & was still sitting in the parking lot, however, there was no other person in the parking lot at that time. She lied to get me to leave. I asked for the GM's name and she said Dakota. I went back to the door because I saw an employee & she advised me that she was the night manager that the store closes early so the security company does not incur overtime. Security has to get out early, so they purposely close the store early to get everyone out by 11PM so they do not get written up for overtime. Denying customers entry before posted closing hours and providing misleading explanations is unacceptable. The security company should adjust hours and come in later and stay until 11:30PM to cover anything needed. This is a separate issue causing bad service. Kroger should honor its advertised hours and treat all customers with fairness and transparency.

All three consistently have terrible attitudes. They either seem to hate their jobs, dislike dealing with customers, or both. I dread coming here knowing there's a good chance I'll have to interact with one of them, but unfortunately it's often unavoidable. In a time when good jobs can be difficult to find, you would think employees would put more effort into providing basic customer service. For the record, I am Black myself, so let's not turn this into a race issue. I only mentioned race because I don't know all of their names and wanted to identify the specific employees I'm referring to, not anyone else who may work there. These employees are consistently unpleasant and would probably be better suited for positions that involve less direct customer interaction, such as produce, stocking, or the meat department. Their attitudes make what should be a simple shopping trip far more frustrating than it needs to be.

NO meat counter so couldn't ask about whether they had more in back, the employees stocking said they didn't know and I'd have to talk to meat dept., once again no meat counter. 3. Just like the closed Garland location, shopping carts are damaged and wheels lock up / pull you to the side. Other updated Krogers are fairly nice like Rockwall and Sachse and I have no problem with those but this particular location needs improvement and upgrades.
