I have been shopping at this albertson's location in Baton Rouge for over 25 years. Now, I only go to this store if I need to pick up a prescription. The pharmacy is consistently helpful and knowledgeable, and I will continue to use it even if I cannot find satisfaction shopping in the store itself. The store has declined in helpfulness for quite a while now. Today, the problems I had at the store were so easily averted by a good manager- 1. As I entered the store an a 1. an employee was smoking next to the only entrance, and I had to walk through his smoke to get in the store. 2. the restroom was filthy and only offerred a small roll of toilet paper which was rolling around on the floor. read more

This location on Airline Highway at its intersection with Old Hammond Highway has been open for many years. It recently underwent a remodel and now houses a STarbucks----yippee for those who like this. Another interesting tidbit is that this place has a florist inside-----so again, it's offering something not other Albertsons locations and other grocery stores may have---good to know if this is your thing. As to its usual and customary offerings, they are here---deli of cold cuts and fried chicken offerings ; a fresh seafood counter and fresh salad bar. For me, this Albertsons is set up a little differently than the one I am accustomed however, it is clean and spacious and easy to navigate so the customer entering for the first or a multiple time should not be disappointed. read more

I decided to stop at this location as I was heading back home to Lafayette. First let me start with the customer service. From interacting with the stocker , speaking to a manager and my last interaction with the young lady working the register. I'd say some of the best customer service I've received at a grocery store or any retail business in a very long time. I am only giving one star because I cannot give ZERO stars. Whoever is in charge of the "pickup" service, needs to be fired. They NEVER call about substitutions. Even when substitutions are added to the order, there is ALWAYS a problem. They NEVER communicate when there is a problem and there is ALWAYS a problem with my order. I made the mistake of ordering there today after not ordering from that store for weeks. The other Albertsons stores in the area provide MUCH better service and communication. There are people who are incapacitated or cannot physically go to the store when needed. They DEPEND on the employees to get it right or communicate when there is an issue. Ok. I'll start by saying usually I get decent customer service here. People are pleasant and generally offer assistance when I look lost or dazed out confused. My gripe is moreover with the store. I honestly have avoided this place for quite some time now. Whenever I enter this particular location I gag at the smell. Like literally gag. Who in the world wants to purchase their food items from a location that SMELLS!?! Not I ! Furthermore, on SEVERAL occasions, almost so regularly I expect it, their debit card machines were down. So if you don't have cash, you're simply out of lock. Can you imagine doing all of your shopping and then getting to the register and being told you can only have cash? Yep. Sucks. It's difficult to rate the whole store because I've had good and bad experiences in different departments. However, I have dropped in the past few Sundays, and I'm thinking they can't get staff to work those days. The lines get really long. I have gotten to know several people that work there, but i can tell some of the newer people just don't want to be there. Albertsons has gotten better since they have re modeled it. They seemed to have added more workers too which helps so much with the check out. The store now is so clean and nice. They have a good produce section, with a good selection of organic product. They also have the monopoly game, and you can win different things through the instawin. read more

As far as grocery stores in Baton Rouge go, this one impressed me. Every other grocery in BR typically has bare shelves by 7pm, and this one always makes sure to keep them stocked. It may be a mit out of the way, but if you are going to have to drive to 3 different stores to get everything, why not just drive the extra distance to get it all at one place. Its also open pretty late and usually very quiet (i.e. not over run by degenerates and/or hordes of LSU undergrads). Also they have a great liquor selection. read more

Carol M. the cashier is incredibly rude. She ignored my request for paper instead of plastic and when I said 'excuse me' because I thought she may not have heard me as she continued to use plastic, she very rudely said 'yeah, I heard you!' She should not do any work that requires her to interact with humans. She's miserable and rude. The store is also disgustingly dirty and doesn't look like it's been updated or cleaned since it was originally built. read more

Beware of the salad bar! Definitely not the cleanest or freshest items. Today, I found raspberries with MOLD on them. The cashiers are not the friendliest and look like they dread working there. I nicely asked for a receipt after several minutes my card was ran and my items given to me... I was rudely told "well I gotta wait for the printer." You'll probably get a better experience at a Walmart than this place. Definitely won't be back. read more

Honestly I've never had a problem with Albertsons being that I have worked at one before in the same position but every single time I come here, literally EVERY single time there is never anyone at customer service. I've waited for almost 30 minutes for someone to come off break! Mind you I got here at 7:30 they close at 8:00pm. No manager has come to at least help me with any service and there are workers on the floor who has no authorization to do money orders. Mind you when the lady comes back she doesn't say anything but "how much you need it for" and I overhear another employee saying I thought you were on break. What gets me is that she doesn't acknowledge anything about not being at her station not a hello, sorry or the wait, no even a "you're welcome" after I said thanks for the money order. Ive been in customer service over 10 years literally and this was the worst! Finally for help at 7:59pm. A money order takes all of 2 minutes to do. Mind you I worked the exact same thing at a different location so I know exactly how it goes. read more

I was celebrating my son's 8th birthday today. I ordered a cake online and they had it ready for me when I came in. Unfortunately it was dry and not a typical fresh Albertsons cake. I usually deal with the Albertsons in Denham and their bakery is awesome! I had to hunt down someone to help me in the florist department because I needed birthday balloons. The poor lady did her best but she didn't even work in that department. This was the most pitiful balloon bouquet I'd ever seen. I guess next year I'll stick to Ambrosia or Gambinos. read more

I have shopped at this Albertson's for over 3 years. In that time, I have seen quality and cleanliness plunge. Sunday, I stopped there to pick up a few things, and needed to use the mens room. I will not be returning. The mens room was disgusting. Not only was it unclean, the door was broken. It was hanging off of the hinge and had to be lifted to close. But wait - the knob was broken off, and there was no way to lock it. I sent an email to Albertson's corporate yesterday morning, and returned to the store in the evening. The door had not been replaced - they hadn't even put up an "Out of order" sign. Clearly, hygiene is not a priority for Albertsons. read more

Long story short: The coupon from the sales paper said,"Buy 1 Get 2 Free". And the unnoticeablefine print says "Has to be seasoned steak". The red meat also had rules that weren't started anywhere. You'll be told while in line to check out, and ruin your whole day + dinner plans. But why the fine print? The other problem was that the paper said there was a sale on the 97% 3% ground meat at $3.99/lb, for 2lb or more...there's a sign right by the meat. The register won't recognize it. why? There isn't any 2lb "all wrapped up together" option on the shelf. The cashier says,"you can't have two separate pounds of meat, it has to be all in one." That's not shared on the sign. So, you are basically being told things in line, at the check out, that should have been more clearly stated. We walked out, disappointed and angry. For people looking for good deals, be careful. Always check the fine print, and save time by skipping out completely on these... "Deals". read more

I've been shopping at Albertsons for years. I love it! They always have sale items available unless I wait til the last day it's on sale. But then, I just get a raincheck. The meat is fresh and they care a good selection of seafood. Everyone is friendly and most times they have enough staff so there's hardly any wait time to get in and out. Might, I add the set up is ideal to grab and go. The bread is close to the milk and juices. I dont have to walk from one side of the store to get a few items. Oh, and they carry a wide selection of spirits. read more

Shopped this store in April and found it lacking. There was dirty floors and no one seemed able to tell me where things are. So pretty much left without what I needed. On my way back to my hotel room I discovered a Target Superstore nice clean and the staff was helpful left with my frozen dinner. Since I reported this grocery store location to the State Food Inspectors, they've finally gotten rid of the ants *knock on wood* (haven't seen any the last 2 trips i've made to this store) and the produce is looking better. Bout time the manager got off his tush and started "managing" this store!! Still 2 stars because a lot of times they don't carry the most simple things like McCormick's Pure Vanilla or they're always out of something I need that they carry. I would give it no stars if i could. My husband went there a couple days ago to do some light grocery shopping. Person at the meat counter said he couldnt sell him a certain steak out the case because he didnt know the price of it. My husband made another selection and tried to blow off the interaction. When he got to the front, he put his groceries on the belt and waited his turn. The cashier was very rude, stopped ringing up items for the person in front of him and began yelling slamming the divider stick on the counter saying "when you put groceries up here you use this". My husband apologized and said where his groceries started. She continued to yell and belittle my husband for not using a divider. He asked for the manager and let her know whats going on. She apologized and spoke briefly yo the young lady and left. As my husband was leaving, the cashier continued to have cross words with my husband. He called the manager back over and told her what was going on and left. We will not be back to this Albertsons again. read more
