The salad deli inside Albertsons is a lifesaver. Headed home from one event to get ready for the next, I needed some food and I was too tired to cook. A large lemon capellini salad, a medium Caesar Chicken, and a medium antipasti salad really took care of me. The server, Amy, took filled my order quickly. This Albertsons is is quiet and laid-back. Well Albertsons get a big raspberry today. My wife was shopping and wanted get some fried chicken from the deli. Normally we order by the piece because the combo doesn't suit our needs. Today, the associate in the Delhi told my wife the store no longer sells chicken by the piece in the deli. Absurd. She ended up buying an 8 piece special, which as I have said, does not suit our needs. The website shows single pieces are available. Needless to say, I'm not happy about it. I shop at the Brundage Lane Albertsons from time to time if I only need a couple of things. I usually prefer the Vons on Stockdale. The staff at the Brundage Lane Albertsons is generally friendly, but I have had my share of apathetic teenagers in the checkout line as well. The store is typically well-maintained and clean, and usually the security guards keep the riff-raff out. You know you're in the hood when there's a one-way turnstyle at the entrance. The parking lot and its methamphibian patronage can be hit or miss. I am often accosted for money walking to and from my car and my wife knows not to come here alone after dark. As others have commented, the fried chicken here is on point but fair warning - it seems to sell out quick. There's usually a line at dinner time. read more

For an Albertsons this location is pretty well stocked. I am giving them four stars just because in the meat department they actually answered their phone. I called the location on coffee rd and no one answered. I went to the location on Mt vernon and they did not have the product I was looking for. This location actually had the jumbo shrimp that I was looking for. This is not my first complaint on the deli dept but it is my first review and let me just say that this location has got to get a new crew in there to train the new employees because I have been going to this alberstsons for 8 plus years and it's always the same crap the deli sept acts like the chicken belongs to them personally and almost make you feel bad when you say no I don't want that old chicken that's been there for who knows how long like if I am willing to wait between 14-17 min for the new chicken to come out what makes them think when I ask for chicken stripes that I want the old o es that changed from tan to golden red. I've been going here for over a year. The store is clean. The staff is nice. However... I live with someone who has celiac disease. Which means gluten is quite literally poison to her. The gluten free section at this store is poorly placed directly next to... the bakery. ‍ Gluten to someone with severe Celiac can quite literally be fatal. I have spoken with management regarding this, and they are always friendly and understanding, on the surface, but the section remains where it is by the bakery. Late Review: I came to this Albertons twice and I forgot to check in once. The first time I came was to buy some fried chicken. My cousin-in-law ordered 30 pieces of fried chicken and 4 liter sodas. I can't remember the total but my cousin said it was a good prices for everything. She said they usually buy fried chicken here instead of KFC because it comes out cheaper. The fried chicken was good. The second time I came was because they have a chase ATM inside the store. Unfortunately, it was out of order when I got there. I needed the cash because I was on my way to the swap meet and there was no ATM inside the swap meet. I asked a cashier (an old white lady) if I was able to take cash out. She rudely said, "Yes you can, but you need to buy something". Than she rolled her eyes and walked away. Obviously I knew that I had to buy something and there was no reason for her to roll her eyes at me. I was so lost to why she was so rude to me. I bought a water bottle and a chocolate bar. I noticed she was as a cashier in one of the lines. I avoided her because I didn't want no drama and I was furious. I wanted to speak to her manager, but my cousin-in-law was waiting for me outside in a hot car. I decided to let it go. Unfortunately, I didn't her name. This made me decide on the two stars. Ashley pic looks like a new batch fried chicken receintly hit the trays. They fill trays just before the dinner customers cause long lines for Fried chicken. Sometimes I experienced 6-7 peoples in line before me. Not sure if issue with wings on right. I was'nt there. Seriously doubt anything in hot trays from overnight. Overnight chicken wrapped in cold fridge containers I've gotten for half price. Often this was Yummmmmm. Cold fried chicken with bread. Comfort food. For comparison. This place was gross I went to get last minute finger food for my daughters birthday party and came across old chicken that seems to have been sitting for awhile very unsanitary. I've been to the store in Paso Robles and tried the chicken there an decided to get it when I came back to Bakersfield I'm not knocking all Albertsons but this location needs to have the DM make a surprise visit. I would love to give this market 5 stars as the checkers and stockers are super friendly and helpful. My evaluation is strictly for their fresh fish counter supply. I am not able to afford such delicacies as king crab legs or lobster or sea scallops very often, but when I do get them I expect fresh because I have paid a good price for them. I purchased only five giant sea scallops the day before yesterday. I brought them home, promptly put them into the refrigerator at the perfect temperature, and devoted over an hour looking for a recipe to make these beautiful, superb looking scallops with. Today I brought them out, rinse them and patted them dry. I prepared the recipe exactly as stated by a chef online, Searing the scallops till crusty brown on both sides and done inside. I brought my beautiful dish to the table and upon taking the first bite of the scallops I had to spit it out immediately. It tasted so fishy that I could not finish them. I was able to eat the rest of my pasta dish with spinach, sun-dried tomatoes and sautéed garlic and onions in a White wine, cream and Parmesan sauce. I guess I could offer my cat the scallops he will probably enjoy them. read more

2nd worse Albertsons I've been into! What the heck has happened! I went in yesterday after work (5:15ish) to pick some dinner for a friend. Friday $5 days are the best..IF they have the product! I would think if it's sale days, they would have more than enough product..nope! I was going to order from the deli but didn't as I had to wait for the girl behind the counter to finish talking with her coworker (who was working). She finally comes to the counter but waits on the person who walked up after me! After an eye roll from her, she finally comes to me and of course what I want they don't have and what they had didn't look appetizing. I asked if they had any other cold sandwiches and she said nope but we'll have some in the morning. Umm, why the heck would I want it in the morning! Overall, it was not a great experience (except for the cashier who helped me at the end!) Keep the store stocked, especially sale items, or don't advertise for this store. Superstars! We are in Bakersfield to visit brand new grandson. We wanted to get flowers for new mommy. My husband has gotten flowers for me at Albertsons, and there was one close by. They have a great selection! We found exactly what I was thinking of, a combination flower & plant in a cute copper like pot. I asked the lady working in that section if she could dress it up a bit. Don't go here. They have flies in their deli counter refrigerator. Went to buy lunch meat last night. Young dude working the deli counter mumbled through an explanation how he started sanitizing the slicers and couldn't help me. It was 838 and their counter closes at 9 so bad start she. He's refusing to help someone. I give him the time, he sighs and says come back at 850. I already had all I needed and was just waiting on meat. He didn't have a couple ones I was looking for so I had him slice a sample of ham. My son loves ham and I was disgusted when I noticed several flies buzzing around the deli container. So lord knows how well their slicer is cleaned if they have flies in their locker. I told them at the counter and they shrugged. I went into the pharmacy between 12-1pm and they have a 30 minute break. I waited an hour and they did know acknowledge me. I went back home then came back. When I came back I stood there for 10 minutes and they did not acknowledge me once again. They sent me to the wrong line and then after I lined up they sent me back to the original line where I stood for 10 minutes. It's been almost 4 hours since I gave them my prescription and they told me the orders not processed after 4 hours. I waited on the phone for almost 20 minutes and I still had no information about my prescription. The people who work there do not care to help customer out. I usually like to go to the Vons on Stockdale because I have a Safeway club card and love their deals but I happened to be in this area today and I had heard Albertson's now owns Safeway and Vons. I figured since I could use my club card here and since it was close by it was better to stop here than drive to the other side of town for Vons. The store is not in the best location, but not the worst either. It's a clean, well stocked well organized store but it is very old and needs some remodeling. The cashier was not able to answer my question about my Safeway club card and referred me to call a toll free number for my questions. While I realize Albertson's and Safeway are two different brands, they are also the same exact company and you would think it wouldn't be difficult for them to answer Safeway club card questions. Still I got extra points added to my card which was a bonus and the prices were actually decent. It would not be my first store choice and I prefer the aforementioned Vons to this location, but this one is fine for a few quick items and convenience. read more
