Also, their thick chicken noodle soup is fab. Like your grandma's, just an instant feeling of goodness when you eat it if you're feeling blue/sick. They are allowed to sell products past their sell buy dates. So, yes, many products are expired. However, when they are processed food products, they are usually good WAY past that date. This is a great place to get candy & chips for a good price. Their Saturday produce market is good. Sometimes the produce is better than others. It just depends what they get in on that day. I've gotten lots of very good produce from here much cheaper than I would pay for it in the regular stores. If it doesn't look good, I don't buy it--same as in the regular stores. Also, the people that work here are extremely nice. WAY better check out experience than regular grocery stores! Also, I've never been overcharged for any item. If anything, the price they tell me at the register is lower than what the sign on the shelf said. The only thing I don't buy here is meat. That's been hit or miss for me in the past. So, if you're looking for a bargain, and you don't mind hunting for it a bit, check them out. If you're going to freak out at something past the sell by date, this probably isn't the place for you.

You need to sift through your interests here unless your ok with this. What made me write today is that this place over charges its customers daily. Likely in every transaction. They do not scan anything besides alcohol so they go by the sticker price. If there is no price sticker on the product, they will guess what the item costs and I have NEVER seen them guess on the low side. However there are several signs in the store where the price is 2 for X price or 4 for X price. Sometimes the sticker price is different from the for sale sign in front of the product. Since I am being overcharged I started taking pictures and paying attention to what it is ringing up (some registers dont let you see what price it is ringing up). When I see something that is ringing up at the register incorrect I will share the picture with them and they are usually rude after this. Its not my fault and you should be happy to honor what the store shows. Between all the expired items, the rude staff (the main manager is the worst), and the over priced items at register compared to the shelf price is why I will not be shopping here anymore.

This particular Tom Thumb is conveniently located between Arlington and Euless near Viridian. It's easy to get into and easy to get out of, which is huge for grocery stores in this area. We stopped in to get the fixings for a nice steak dinner for out of town company. We grabbed some bone-in ribeye, sweet potatoes, asparagus and a couple bottles of wine. Everything was of excellent quality and their wine selection is wonderful. Price-wise, it's a bit more expensive than most run of the mill grocery stores, but in my opinion, that's just fine since you're getting a tangibly better product. Service-wise, they are always appropriately staffed and you never have to stand in long lines. Their employees are always friendly and helpful. The store itself is clean and laid out nicely. They also have an excellent selection of plants and flowers. I'd definitely recommend this Tom Thumb location.

Bassham foods looks like it's easy to get to but, the two places I tried to pull into were exit only. I finally found my way and it was a bit awkward because, there were lots of 18 wheelers around. I walked in and the staff kept to themselves. I did not see any good deals because, I don't buy in bulk. There was nothing that really jumped out at me. There were a few shoppers in the focused on the pricing. The store is old age and some of their products look that way too. If you like to buy in bulk, this may be something you want to check out. I have been an exclusive Publix shopper for the last 40 years and today I had the worst experience…read moreever, from any store, Publix, Arlington, Jacksonville, FL. On my way to work I stopped in quickly to stock our community fridge with Seagram Ginger Ale, division of Coca Cola. Publix weekly ad listed Coca Cola products 2 for 2, 6 pack bottles, mini cans and 8 packs of 16oz. I have been purchasing this special almost weekly and it always shows up on my 'just for you' list when offered, as it did this morning when I checked the new weekly ad. I went into the store, rather hurried, went to the customer service register and as approaching mentioning how happy I was with Publix always having Seagrams Ginger ale in some kind of special. As the associate rings my purchase,she said 'you must be mistaken, Ginger ale is never on 2 for 2' I said, well it is marked and advertised as 2 for 2 ALL Coca Cola products. She said, 'Never on Ginger ale' and walked with me to the aisle, where the sale was clearly marked ALL Coca Cola products. I had just purchased this exact sale, 2 weeks ago. I left extremely angry, returned to the parking lot and googled Seagrams. They were purchased by Coca Cola in 2002. I went back into the store to witness the associate relaying our interaction to her manager, as she saw my reentering, approaching the manager, she picked up the Ginger Ale and walked it back to the soda aisle. The manager did confirm that I was correct and that Seagrams was indeed a division of Coca Cola and part of the advertised sale. The associate in question, still within ear shot of this interaction, continued to replace the items to the shelf, ignoring me and her manager. I know this is just about soda on sale, but the attitude and refusal to even refer to a manager or fellow associate, all within a few feet of this interaction, it the issue. The manager was extremely apologetic and offered to review the situation with the associate as a training opportunity, however, for me, the damage was done.
