When coffee starts costing what a cocktail costs it makes you think twice. I wouldn't drive all the way from Woodhaven to Arlington to try this place, but we were going to the mid-century shop next-door which was closed again even though they're supposed to be open so we decided to try the coffee and it was very good. There is even a little seating area for children to sit and read or play. The staff was polite and helpful. We ordered with ease. I like that there is plenty of seating areas inside, two different outside patios downstairs, seating on a second level and another huge patio area upstairs. To get upstairs, you can take the stairs or use the elevator. Besides beverages, you can purchase pastries and merchandise such as t-shirts. The greens, corn nuggets, baked beans, macaroni and cheese, and potato salad were all excellent. The restaurant was clean, the atmosphere was relaxing, the customer service at the front counter was spot on, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food we received. The only reason I'm not giving five stars is because of an interaction that left a disappointing impression. The owner appeared to be making his way around the restaurant greeting guests. He stopped by our table, warmly greeted and spoke with my son, then moved on without ever acknowledging me or my wife. It may have been completely unintentional, but it left us feeling overlooked. As someone who serves in ministry and regularly recommends businesses to church members, friends, and professional contacts, I left thinking this could have become one of my go-to recommendations. Unfortunately, that interaction changed what could have been a great relationship with the restaurant. One thing I've learned in life is that you never know who's sitting at your table. A simple greeting can turn a customer into a loyal supporter. The food was excellent, and I sincerely wish this business continued success.
