I've been a client of the owner Alex for over 13 years. Since he's gotten much busier over the…read moreyears I've been to 3 of his other barbers at his trusted word. For the past 3 years I've been going to his barber Will and in the past month I don't if something has happened in Will's personal life but he has been rude, unprofessional, and hostile to say the least. We had an issue with the appointment service that Royalty Chop Shop uses. I called the shop 3 times, six hours before my appointment, all calls sent to voicemail. I called and texted Will, no answer. I even called and texted the owner Alex, with no answer. Even when I rescheduled online, I called again to try and confirm my appointment was to be rescheduled for the next day. Still no answer. When I called the next day, they confirmed the shop was closed and rescheduled, then hung up. They then called me back to tell me to reschedule again, wanting to charge me for a second time. After telling them the many times I called, Will jumped on the phone and told me that he is a busy man and it's not his job to pick up clients phone calls or text. When I told him that I called the shop he said it wasn't his job and since I was his only client that had a problem with their software that I can find another barber. I haven't received my refund and I called Alex and left messages countless times. I'll find another barber, but if this is the type of business you're going to run with short tempered young kids that don't have good communication skills and bring personal problems to work and take them out on paying customers then you will fail. Hundreds of barbers in White Plains alone, find a new shop!

His studio is in a shared working space with other hair and makeup studios - very cool concept. But his studio feels very private, I loved this aspect - its not like most salons where other people are waiting and watching you get your haircut. Nice setup! I went for the 45 min haircut experience, most of the other places I've been have been 20-30 min. He really took his time to understand the type of cut I wanted and the length, we started a bit longer so I could see if thats what I wanted first. He used various techniques which was fun to watch, you can tell this guy enjoys his craft. He is super friendly, easy to talk to but not overbearing. My cut came out great and I'd never had a straight razor to clean up the lines before. I will definitely go back, I think for the price - he went above and beyond my expectations.
