Please note: This is the Puerta Maya location. Alberto's beach bar is a cool place to hang out for a quick bite to eat. We were on a cruise and decided that we wanted to taste some local food before going back on the ship. Alberto's staff was very friendly & welcoming. My family & I were shown to our tables (yes, more than 1 table since it was 6 of us). We ordered: chicken tacos, guacamole & habañero sauce & drinks The nachos were delivered before the chicken so we were half done before the chicken arrived, yes...we are GREEDY! The nachos came with tortilla chips, black bean sauce and cheese garnished with chicken. Once the chicken arrived it was seasoned well and was very tasty. The guacamole was fresh and came with tortilla chips. I would go back just for the guacamole. The habañero sauce we mixed in with the guacamole & it gave it a nice heat...not too overwhelming. So if you are in the area, hit them up cuz you won't be disappointed...next time I'm in Cozumel, I'll definitely be hitting them up read more

Stopped off for a cerveza in an around the island tour of Cozumel Island with my in-laws. Had a beer and we left. However we took a 2 hr. snorkeling tour with Alberta's two days later. After the tour ( which was great) we had lunch. I had fajitas pollo (chicken) and my wife had tacos pollo. It came w/pico de gallo, and frijoles negros refritos (refried black beans), and el arroz( rice). Both dishes were delicious and plentiful. We especially like the frijoles negros, but the chicken was cooked perfectly w/o being dry. When it came time to pay they would not take my card as we'd not purchased $30 of food and drink. The food is pricy we paid $160 pesos for each meal, $10 US. I did not have enough money to pay for our cab ride if I'd paid in pesos. We haggled and explained our situation as best as we could. Finally he let me use my card and I tipped him 50 pesos for the privilege!! My in-laws are going back tonight for dinner and live music. They've been there before and say the music is great at night. read more

This restaurant is located right next to my resort and the food was horrendous at the resort , thank GOD FOR YELP AND ALBERTOS! we went for lunch and dinner and both times were delicious. As the manager told me when I sat down at my regular favorite meal of vacation: there is only one rule at Alberto's: there are no rules. Not cheap. Lots of fun. Great food. Probably the best key lime pie I've ever had (sorry Florida). This is our "eat out splurge" meal on every visit to Cozumel. My wife was sober enough to remember everything about it this year and (relative) sobriety did not curb her enthusiasm at all. Alberto's is hard proof that food tastes better when your toes are in the sand and you can see the ocean from your plastic beach chair. Also? They have a stripper pole for when you are drunk enough to think THAT'S a fun idea. So... yeah. That may be useful information for some and a warning to others. read more

We had the most amazing afternoon here. We came to Cozumel later in the afternoon so our taxi driver suggested Alberto's as most of the beach clubs would close soon. We stayed all afternoon and enjoyed lunch and dinner. The ceviche was the best I have ever had, guac was brilliant as was the whole fish. It was a little pricey but the service was good. A cab driver Raul told my best friend and I about this place so we decided to check it out in search of authentic Mexican food. The tables were seated right on the beach with the sand under our feet and the water just steps away. Beautiful view of the ocean and was able to see the sun setting. The food on a scale of 1-10 was about an 8. Fresh tasting and great portions. Wasn't able to finish it because of the small bugs flying on and around my plate. Other than that the food was delicious, the service was awesome and the view just breathtaking! Ever in the area check them out. This place has so much potential. Its a beachfront property,but they're trying to be a Dicks last resort or a margaritaville. The night we went, the nephew of the owner had his band play. It was a rock band. Playing only hard rock. The instruments were spot on, but the singer was making up words to the songs. Really weird. And super loud. We had to yell across a 2' table to have a conversation. We didnt take a trip to Cozumel to feel like we were at home. Some latin music or spanish guitar wouldve been perfect in that setting. The food was ok. Prices are a little high for what you get. Service was not good. It wasnt that busy. Our waiter was lacking. Probably wouldnt go back. Maybe for lunch. Recommended to us by the locals this is a hidden gem. Rented a beach chair and umbrella on the cheap-cheap and ate and drank ALL DAY. Bring cash (pesos preferably unless you enjoy doing math after 3 mojitos) and chill. Great service. You need a car to get to this beach, but the rental process is super easy. GORGEOUS views. Sparkling waters and a very clean beach. This definitely a locals spot. read more

I went to Alberto's after hearing some people at my hotel say it was good. Since it was next door to the hotel, I went for lunch. Immediately you notice the view, which is absolutely beautiful. You eat lunch directly on the beach. The servers were really nice and took our orders fast. The food was good but it wasn't anything special. It was a pretty small serving size for a quesadilla, it barely came with any beans and rice. The rice wasn't even Spanish rice, it was bland rice pilaf. I maybe had 3 spoon fulls of beans (which had 2 chips stuck in it). It didn't come with guacamole, I ended up asking for a side of crema just to add something to it. I don't think I'd come here again, I'd probably recommend people to try something in town rather than this restaurant. read more

This place is amazing, me and my husband try to come here every single time we come to Cozumel we rent a Jeep just to come to this place, we love it so much. The lobsters are to die for. They are so great they bring you out a tray and you get to pick the size of the one you would like, we love them so much we'll eat one go bar hopping and come back and get another lobster! It's a must to go check this place out, get a lobster and a banana daiquiri you will not regret it what so ever! read more

Jorge was an excellent host. He was able to have our freshly caught fish grilled the same day we caught it and it was enough to satisfy our large group. The food there was delicious and their seafood was as fresh as ours. Great atmosphere, drinks, music and dancing and of course the views. Very short walking distance from Iberostar Resort. This place is so fun and the food is incredibly fresh! My family and i stayed in a condo up the road and ended up coming here for two nights of our vacation. The vibe of the place was fun with lots of music and dancing. The fish is INCREDIBLY fresh; they go to catch it in the morning and it's so tasty. I had fish tacos and fish fajitas. Their margaritas and piña coladas are also amazing. You can sit right on the beach and it's so beautiful! The employees are very kind. read more

This is some of the best seafood I have ever eaten. Take the leap and share the seafood combo for two! It's well worth the $80. Two lobster tails, grilled shrimp, grilled fish, rice, veggies, baked potato and amazing bread! We also had a coupon for free nachos from our hotel, Sunscape, and they were good. The atmosphere is really fun! They could t get a hold of a cab so a working drive is in the company van! Strawberry daiquiris were amazing and actually had real strawberries blended in. Ohhhhh myyyyyy goooooooodnesssssss was this place amazing!! We are totally laid back people and this beach front (literally we were 5 feet from the water!) location was the BEST!! Our server Jorge was fabulous to chat with and our meal was out of this world delicious!! My husbands king crab was unreal and my lobster was heaven in my mouth! We went back to our resort and told everyone about our experience and that they needed to go!! What an awesome little gem! We will be back EVERY time we come to Cozumel! Just WOW!!! Being from Southern California I am very familiar with Mexican food and really love Mexican food. This place was very good. I couldn't go full 5 star because I notice here in Cozumel they do very little seasoning of any kind. But the freshness and the salsas kick it up. I will be back! This snorkeling trip way by far the best. We went to three amazing sites with Angel, Pedro and Lalo. They kept us all together and gave clear instructions for first timers. At the end they took us to a beach and served us beers, fresh ceviche and pineapple with tajin. Stingrays we're everywhere and so friendly. Not the dangerous ones. This place was pretty good and I'm from Southern California so I'm considered an expert when it comes to Mexican food. I had the shrimp fajitas and they were the best I've had here so far. They give you a good size portion for $16 US, it also comes with a scoop of rice and black beans. Here's a SoCal tip, squeeze the lime over the shrimp and add salsa, mix the beans with the rice and add some of the habanero pepper sauce that they provide, over everything to kick it up a notch. This is a "chain restaurant" and that word can throw some people off but trust me, give them a try, you won't be disappointed. read more

It took me to long to get to this review but it deserves 5 stars. When I was staying at the Iberostar Hotel for a fishing trip I discovered this place and fell in love with it. The bartenders and cooks are all awesome people and even the massage lady is great. This place is cozy and your picture perfect beach bar. I came over here at least once each day of my trip. Drank ALOT, got a massage, tried conch ceviche for the first time. But the best part was after a deep sea fishing trip where I got a Big Mahi Mahi the boat dropped me off right in front with my catch and I asked them if they could cook it up. They ask how I wanted it and I told the chef to cook it the way he would for a family event. They fried it. To this day I still tell everyone that this was the best meal of my life. Not sure if it was just because I had caught the fish an hour before hand but I have to give them credit as well. They gave me a ton of sides and great sauces and charged me less than $5 for everything. I let them keep the rest of the Mahi as thanks. This place is awesome and I can't wait to go back.
