Brought my recently purchased Lexus gx460 with 220K miles in to A+ on May 15 because of a "clunk"…read morethat could be heard inside and outside the car as well as actually feeling it. Was told that I would have to pay $800+ just to leave it with them but as long as they fixed the clunk for that amount I would be happy. When they called me the next day they gave me a pitch about the cost of Lexus parts and that there were codes indicating that the transmission and rear differential needed "servicing". They then told me the cost would be $8700 and I was shocked and asked if I could come pick up the car and they said they would have to put it all back together. I then asked if this would fix the "clunk" and he said he would guarantee it. On May 23 I paid the invoice and as soon as we drove it off, the "clunk" was still there....I returned the car on May 26 and now it is June 1st and the car is still at the shop still broken. So what they worked on did not fix the problem, should I have to pay for it? Do repair shop have carte blanche to say anything with a code needs overhauling?

Pasadena location. Wow. David and his team of technicians…read morehas truly given me a new meaning to great customer service. These guys are true veterans in their feild with knowledge of mechanics. My 2008 chrysler pacifica broke down. I called A plus transmissions and informed David the symptoms of my vehicle. With no hesitation, David actually listened to me and gave me a breakdown of what his thoughts where about my vehicle. I felt confident enough to allow him to send a wrecker to my home and pick up the vehicle. Once my vehicle was in his shop, David and his team inspected my vehicle. What happened next was what I thought a thing of the past. The open line of comunication between David and I. David took his time and clearly gave me a break down of what exactly failed on my transmission. This guy was informative and spoke to me like a person. I have to say that to say this. Most shops talk to you as if your another fellow technician with the terminology and lingo that only other techs would understand. Usually when you question a tech that has very little knowledge, they become irratated and attempt to make you feel as if your questions are silly. I informed David that I wanted to come by his shop to take a look at the vehicle. When I arrived, David showed me every single internal part that failed. I have to say, this isn't a shoot in the dark parts changer hope it works kind of guy. David was able to determine every specific component part that needed to be replaced. This is a very important factor on what's really needed, because it allows you to pay for what is needed. Nothing more nothing less. Their was no suprises in what the charge was going to be. I had a true visual of what occured internally with the transmission. Integrity and ethics of this team is truly A PLUS! Cesar Nunez Jr.

On the trip down I noticed that there was some slipping in the transmission. Very minor but still something that was concerning. We didn't want to leave the car and not know what was going on so I took it to George based on the reviews I read online. He took the car for a ride, said it was slipping between 1st and 2nd. So, you brace for the price... He said the Honda transmission is rock solid and this could easilty last for years before it gives out so just drive it and not worry about it.
