The moment you set foot in the hotel you are greeted by there wonderful staff. They were so helpful and by our 5th night it felt like family. Mariana our house keeper was the best. I'm sorry to I forgot the young man's name who wears the glasses at the front desk, he was also amazing. The rooftop lounge was beautiful and the views amazing. The pool was freezing but I heard refreshing. The Mr enjoyed it, I enjoyed the view. Our last night there we tried the pizza ristorante on the premises and it was delicious. Breakfast was also really tasty, Buffett style. I would definitely come back closer to off season to relax and live like a local. The hotel itself is very clean, the room was spacious and had beautiful tiled floors. The tiles were colorful and bright. The bathroom was super clean and spacious. It also, like many bathrooms in Europe, included a bidet. The staff was very hospitable and nice. They really went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. Unlike some of the other places in Italy, the folks at Tirrenia cared about customer service. The hotel has a terrace where you can see beautiful sunsets! The terrace also has a jacuzzi you can enjoy until about 7 pm. I didn't get a chance to enjoy it but wished I could have! If I'm ever again in Sorrento, I would definitely pick Tirrenia for my stay!

It's significantly cheaper, and you won't have to climb much steps. Here are some pros/cons of our stay: Pros: -Great location. Located about 2 blocks from the train station, and less than a 5 minute walk to the Main Street with lots of shopping/restaurants -Breakfast is included. Each night, you select from a menu of options and select a time you want it to be delivered to your room the next morning. It was so convenient. There's a pretty good variety too - different breads, eggs, omelette, cheese, cold cuts, yogurt, juice, milk, and coffee -Automatic blackout blinds -We got there way before check-in time, at around 10 am but they still let us check into the room -Mini fridge -Clean/more modern rooms Cons: -No elevator but that seems typical of most of these small hotels throughout Italy -Our toilet wouldn't flush one afternoon and since there is only someone at reception in the morning, they said they couldn't send someone until the next morning. It ended up being fine bc the water did go down eventually but still annoying -Not much hot water. It's probably enough to take a 10 minute shower before the hot water runs out. So if you're two people, you'll have to shower quick and good luck if you have more people than that -There was one day they only partially cleaned the room (i.e. only made the bed but didn't clean up the bathroom) and didn't replace the towels. Since reception was gone for the day, it took a bit of communicating/getting a key for the supply closet to get towels. Wouldn't have been an issue if they just left a supply of extra towels somewhere, especially if reception isn't going to be there all day Overall, the pros outweigh the cons and I would recommend if you're looking to stay in Sorrento.

The room had a small mini fridge (not much room for extras unless you empty out the sodas etc), a huge counter in the bathroom, large bathtub and wonderful shower head. The reading lights above the bed were great for a late night reading session. WiFi was decent as well (fast enough for streaming Netflix etc). Fantastic pizza around corner!
