You get what you paid for but this might be the worst hotel experience I have ever had…read more Can't comment on what is out of the hotel owner's control, like the shady unsafe surroundings (it's next to the train station and these areas are always shady in all over Italy and it is Naples for God's sake), only what it can be controlled. The staff and the room were okay, the bathroom clogs easily but what made the experience really bad was the constant noise inside of the hotel first floor area. People kept coming in and out talking and shouting until late hours and every time they did, doors were banging so strongly that made our room shaked and I say this while there was a real earthquake happening in the city. We did not sleep for the 2 nights we were there. Again, you get what you paid for so don't expect an amazing experience.

The hotel is basic with the standard hard mattress you see at these types of hotels. It was clean. The only thing is that this area near the train station is very sketch. However, once you get out go about two blocks west things start to get better. Once you get to Via Dei Tribunali you start seeing the good pizza places that Naples is known for. Closer toward to the museum, there is the Piazza Bellini which has some nice hidden cafes. (See profile photo)

For me cleanliness, location, security and a good night's rest are the most important for short stays, the amenities I would use here aren't much different than a 3 star hotel and their service was great as far as I could tell. So I can concur with their decent ratings on hotel booking websites. When I arrived I walked into a bright, clean, lobby and room, well-located a five minute walk to the main busy part of town, and a two minute walk to the Sorrento train station with access to Pompeii and Napoli. Reception was friendly and professional, and was able to provide access to my room a couple hours in advance of check-in time when I arrived around 11:30am on a weekday. If room had not been ready they had confirmed luggage could be stored prior check-in or after checkout. The bed was comfortable, the pillows were so-so. Having a regular and usb charger outlet right in bed headboard was a convenient touch. WiFi signal was strong but I wonder if over capacity, because websites weren't loading on my phone. Great water pressure and hot water. Towels were clean. AC worked well for the couple of humid days I was there. I didn't use the TV so can't comment on this. Other amenities: in-room safe, wardrobe, small luggage storage area, small desk with an informal cushioned seat, bidet. Open rooftop terrace with lounge seating. A nice view of the street and neighborhood citrus orchard behind the hotel. I didn't have breakfast here though the breakfast room looked neat and organized. Their elevator is very, very narrow--like maybe two feet wide. Don't expect to fit more than two people without claustrophobia inside, or one person with luggage. Honestly I was appreciative just to have an elevator since some smaller, older hotels in Europe don't. Overall I was impressed by the cleanliness. Not perfect though pretty decent for the location and I'd stay again for the convenience.

The room was simple, but comfortable. Just 3 rooms downstairs, and Augusto and his family live upstairs. Typical to Capri, there are quite a few stairs going down/up to get to Casa Augusto and then up a pretty steep hill to get to the street to walk into town. And it is just 10 minute walk to the Marina Piccolo beach, but down a few hundred stairs, and (of course) up a few hundred stairs to get back up. I was feeling a bit under the weather, so the stairs affected me more than normal. But overall, a very enjoyable stay.

Homemade local food. Great breakfast (includes yogurt, cheese, prosciutto and fresh fruit, plus real cappuccino). All this AND a HOT SPRING POOL! Ignore the ill-informed comments that the pool is "green" and "dirty." It is NOT chlorinated municipal water. Is is NATURAL hot water from 90 meters below the earth. The Island of Ischia is stunning. I ended up staying here for over two contented weeks. They even let me help in the kitchen one night ! Not expensive. About a 15-minute walk down to the seaside (but there is a not-always reliable connecting bus). It is closed for winter season.

Rooms are clean, patio had an amazing view, restaurant and bar was so relaxing, and the staff was so friendly and helpful. Josephine helped with recommendations and reservations. Not only did she plan our day but every reservation had the best spot at the beach and restaurant. The location is perfect also. Located up the mountain from the beach but in a very quaint area. It is about a 10 minute walk down to the beach, the walk is easier than it looks. I can't wait to go back.

It's located along a vine-covered trellis walkway to the main entrance, near where cars can pick up or drop off to the hotel. Even though a uniformed doorman is posted at the entrance to the walkway, if you're not a guest, they allow you to check out the cafe on the terrace, and you can dine at the cafe outside (or restaurant inside) if they have availability. I considered this and took a browse thru the cafe menu. Though looking at the drinks menu, at €9 for juice, €19 for mocktails and €21-30 for generic cocktails, it didn't quite fit the bill for the evening. And if there's one thing I've learned getting older it's that just because it costs more doesn't mean it tastes better. Tho maybe if I had a friend along to celebrate. The ambiance is truly romantic on the elegantly outfitted terrace, white table clothes, white wrought iron chairs matching the wrought iron banisters on the balcony. A dense, twisted canopy of wisteria wound around sturdy trellises resting on classic columns. I can see this being a gorgeous event venue. Of course, you can't miss the views. The staff seemed quite professional, buttoned up (literally) in white shirts and waistcoats. While I was perusing a staff member came up to ask if I needed any help. It's in a historical building that I was told was built around the year 400. That's right, not 1400, but 400! The interior of the rooms are very modern and very beautiful. Very clean and welcoming! I had a full kitchen, but there's no refrigerator. You may need to YouTube how to useThe espresso maker if you are not familiar with how to use them. Also you may need to buy a lighter or some matches in order to work the stove and the oven. Most rooms have a balcony! The bathrooms were very clean and very modern complete with a French bidet and hairdryer. Breakfast is included but be sure to get it before about 10 in the morning. Just cereal and some coffee and tea. Just enough to get you out the door. The only drawback was that the maid the next morning was very very loud cleaning up the other rooms. She must go to the second floor to get her supplies, but as she does so she has a very very heavy foot on the stairs and if you intend on sleeping in, you had better wear earplugs because the sound resonate throughout these old buildings. It's as though she's running up And down the stairs right next to your head. Other than that, I would definitely stay here again and again! Everything is very nearby this place, restaurants, shops, supermarket, everything that you could possibly want! Not to mention a church every 5 feet LOL! Quintessential Italian courtesy.

They have a magical shuttle that runs on a convenient little schedule. Plus all the tour groups will pick you up right out front. AND the bus picks up right out front as well. The room was big, lovely, comfortable and had plenty of air conditioning. If you get a little warm, just call down and they will crank it up. The restaurant on site is yummy, but make sure you let them know you are coming for dinner. It's pretty and there's a few other restaurants within walking distance. My daughter and I went for a walk just around the hotel and found a sign that said Roman Ruins and an arrow. We followed it and found...yep, you guessed it, Roman Ruins. But not just that, we found the most beautiful pool of clear blue ocean water and a stone arch. It was lovely and people were swimming. She's going back with her friends. The hotel also has a pool and a nice garden. The lobby is also a pleasant place to just relax. But again, it's the people that made a difference. They were just all so nice and trying so hard to make our trip perfect.
