Additionally, Evolution offers daily walk in services after 12 which is highly convenient if there is a short notice problem to work on. The audiologists were recently able to remove a rubber gasket from my canal that had gotten stuck - doing this at a clinic would have taken much longer at much higher cost. I know, doesn't sound hard, but you have to know her to understand. Her lack of hearing adversely affected our family in so many ways. You couldn't even carry on a conversation with her. Her response would always be "Huh?" or "Yea", because she never heard what you said. Of course, I wanted to help her get hearing aids, but I didn't know who to TRUST. I wanted someone to show some genuine care for her, as well as someone with the expertise to provide her what she needed in a hearing aide. So the time came, as it must for all mortals, that as I marched into the "Golden Years" it became…read morenecessary to have a hearing assessment. I was fortunate to be referred to this place by my primary care physician, who never steers me wrong. I hadn't been tested for hearing for forty years of so, and, to be sure, things have changed a great deal since the audiologists applied a tuning fork to your skull. I was having some hearing loss in both ears, but mostly on the left. Dr. Danny Gnewikow, who is apparently the owner, gave me an extensive examination and carefully explained each test and what it was expected to disclose. When the nature of the impairment was determined, the doctor explained various alternatives, including ding nothing and half a dozen various hearing aid alternatives. Honestly, I had expected a sales pitch akin to those used by vacation time-share guys, but this was entirely without pressure. He suggested I try a hearing aide for a month at no cost and then decide. He outlined the payment plan which they handle in-house, at no interest. Not bad. I haven't decided yet but the doctor told me to call for an appointment if I wanted to try a hearing aid- anytime. Dr. Gnewikow was very professional. Nearly all the audiologists there hold doctoral degrees in audiology a process that requires four years post-college. Dr. Gnewikow is a grad of the number one rated Vanderbilt University audiology program. I think I got the best available care here in Lynchburg. Everyone at the office treated me with care concern professionalism and compassion, which is all one can ask, I suppose. The day I came in - Dr. Badua had let her receptionist go early to run some family errands - so she checked me in and then took me in the back to conduct various tests. Afterward she presented me with her findings and had a general hearing/health discussion. She was patient and listened to my whole story - and then answered my questions and provided some detailed explanations about hearing mechanics. I am test driving a pair of Phillips hearing aids right now which they lent me when my rextons bit the dust on the weekend before my 55th high school reunion . The warranty is great & even better if you pay with the Costco credit card , They are not in network for Aetna insurance which is the only drawback that I see .
