The greeting I received when I dropped my cat off was just the start. I am in the middle of moving and needed some help for my animals, there was no empathy or understanding. I tried to joke but was met with "just answer the question." I honestly should have just taken him with me. 3 days into his stay it turns out that my cat is very smart and knows how to open the kennels. apparently it's too much for a pet hotel to be understanding and figure out how to keep a cat in a kennel so we are not able to return. That was a crappy thing to hear while I'm in the middle of a stressful move. people don't board their animals because they want to- it fulfills a need and this company cannot seem to fulfill a need. read more

Frank loves the Albany Pet Hotel! He is always so excited to be there and play with his friends at daycare. The staff are very attentive and caring. It can be stressful to leave your dog in the care of others, but when we drop off Frank at the hotel we are completely at ease because we know that he is being well taken care of. It can be tough leaving your dog with strangers, but Albany Pet Hotel makes it easy. First impressions walking into Albany Pet Hotel were very positive. The facility is clean and organized. Staff were there to greet me, welcome my dog Sofie, and answer my questions. Sofie stayed there for four nights and five days. She came home a tired and happy pup. Sofie can be a easily overstimulated by other dogs, but the staff did a great job monitoring her. We were able to book her private chuck-it exercise sessions, peanut butter kongs, and some daily postcard updates. When I picked up Sofie, one of the staff members gave me a thorough debrief about how she did. You can tell the staff care deeply about all the animals well being during their stay. In the two and half years I've been using this place, they've been creeping up the prices - on what was already an expensive and overpriced service, so for example: if you can't get there before 10 am and have to do a late Sunday pick up... extra 1/2 day charge because of their funky hours. They increased the cost of the rooms, with no additional services.... and now they're charging $2 per SERVING of dog food (regardless the size of your dog or how much they eat, makes no sense). Even standing at the counter you can see all these little add ons they'd be happy to nickel and dime you for (pictures, etc). You might think by the price you're paying for a higher quality of care... but no, you're just paying for the building renovations, which is a pretty icing on a not-very-good-cake. Unfortunately, there isn't a lot of places in Corvallis/Albany that have dog boarding that isn't just "oh sure, your dog can run free on our farm!" (my dog can't do that) so I felt inclined to suck up these increased fees despite the frustrations I've had for over a year. Twice in the past year, I've picked up my dog a day early and he's stinky like he's been sitting in his own pee... and on a few occasions when I've picked him up on time, he's smelt like he got a bath even though I didn't' request one/pay for it. I put my dog in the biggest suite possible (which, of course, is more expensive) so he has as much room as possible and I can only assume that he's not getting let out enough and/or they aren't cleaning the room frequently enough - and that they must be giving him a bath on days when he goes home so that I don't notice. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter how or why this has happened repeatedly, I never had this when I lived in San Francisco (and payed the same price) at the end of the day, I'm not happy. I think it's clear he's not getting what he needs. read more

I love this place, and more importantly so does my dog. They are wonderful, he has been coming to daycare here for almost two years and we board him on occasion when we go out of town. Their grooming services are amazing, staff is delightful and they treat the dogs as if they were their own. You can expect them to do a thorough intake when you first show up, they have clear expectations for behavior and medical care for all the dogs, and if any issues arise they are prompt and professional about reaching out to you as an owner. When the pup is boarded, you can schedule a grooming session for day of pick up so you get a clean animal coming home. You can also bring along their bedding, toys and food so they are more comfortable. They have AC areas if it's too hot outside, and are always paying close attention to the health of the dog. My dog got kennel cough. Yes I know it can happen even with vaccines. They knew they had cases and did not say anything when booking or when I brought my dog in. A week later I call to let them know my dog is sick and they say it was on their social media and website.. and they have tried to call and email people .. my dog stayed 7 days after the first case .. so that's a lie..not everyone looks at social media and them stating they are trying to be transparent is ridiculous when they say Nothing in person. read more

Can't say enough good things about the staff! They are obviously all animal lovers. We drop our dog off 3 x a week to play and get in some exercise. He's a LAB and he loves going there. I take my older lab to the Pet Hotel; she needs special care when we are gone. She's always wagging when we get there and wagging when we leave. They have larger "suites" for the bigger dogs. I love that I can take Sam's orthopedic bed and her toys with her. They are great about giving her medicine, feeding her on a schedule, and knowing that she can't have treats. I feel so much better about going our of town when I know that she is getting lots of attention and playtime. It costs less than having a pet-sitter come to the house, leaving Sam locked in for the majority of the day! read more

Clueless on how too groom a dog!! If I could give 0 stars I would!! Totally ignored me when I saId our dog didn't need shaved and went ahead and shaved her! She looks horrendous! Completely unhappy with this place!! Only reason I can think of is that she was to lazy to brush her and easier to just cut her hair. So sad that their are terrible people out there that really don't care about you or your dog/ family. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG TO THIS PLACE !!! Went in to get my dog's nails trimmed. Noticed after leaving that they hadn't been smoothed/ buffered. So his nails were jagged and had pieces of loose nail hanging off. Called them back. I brought my cat here while going away for the holidays, and he had a great time. Normally my cat is shy around new people, but he warmed up to the staff here quickly. Drop-off was quick and painless, and they were happy to take my calls when I called to check on him. My cat made friends with the staff there, and seemed genuinely sad to leave when I came to pick him up. The rates were extremely reasonable, and it was nice to find availability over Christmas. It ended up costing me $60 less than it would have if I left him at Petsmart, and he came home happy and healthy. I will be boarding here again in the future. read more

So I had heard dogs like this place and we have a trip coming up in a few weeks so I called to see what was available and what was required as we were new. The lady told me that I would first have to prove my dog was vaccinated before I could even check or book an appointment. I could fax it - if I had a home phone line. It is located on my Vet's app. So I have to drive 20 minutes to show them my dog is vaccinated to see if they can take him when we are gone. I get there at the same time as another person. They begin helping them right away. A worker went to get their dog while another worker sat behind the desk not acknowledging my existence. Another person came in. Again, nothing. Another comes in and the girl behind the desk announces she can't help anyone because the server is down. One person says he is there to get his dog. I say I am there to see if they can board my dog. Immediately, they begin helping that person who was the last to walk in the door. They then call to the other woman who was standing there. I have now been standing there for a full 20 minutes with no one even attempting to help. I am glad I saw this though because if they can't manage to have even acceptable customer service, I would hate to think how they treat my dog. read more

Dropped in today without an appointment to get my Australian Shepherd's nails trimmed. It was only her second time getting her nails done so she acted like a total crazy. The groomer was so sweet and patient with both me and my pup. Even though we didn't have an appointment I didn't have to wait at all and they were so friendly and nice. It didn't hurt that the nail trim was super reasonably priced. I'll definitely be back and would absolutely consider this place if I needed to board my dogs because they obviously care about dogs. read more

Change in ownership and service. We used to love Albany Pet Hotel in Albany, Oregon and really felt like the staff loved our dogs. Our dogs had been going there for years and, until recently, always seemed excited to be there. Over the past year or so, the staff turnover has been awful and the remaining staff, for the most part, comes across as apathetic. The current owner's young daughter is running the show and, sadly, seems to be running the business into the ground and chasing all of the caring staff away. We no longer trust them to provide care to our furry best friends and that's too bad. read more

Been here a couple of time with my two aussies. Staff super friendly and good with the larger breeds / strong personalities. During the day the dogs get to play out in the yard and are monitored by the staff. My dogs actually try to open the door to get into the kennel on their own, leaving us behind without a second glance, so the Albany BnB seems to have their seal of approval too. Its also a store and has a good collection of grooming tools. Highly recommend, plus its conveniently on the way to the i-5 when traveling to Portland. read more

We took our wiggly rat terrier here for a nail clip. The staff made him, and us, feel at ease immediately. They were friendly, professional and did a wonderful job. My 17 year old Cocker Spaniel who needed haircuts regularly loved the pet hotel! We boarded him when we were on trips as he was a bit destructive and could not be taken along (he was a rescue dog). He was a regular customer for at least 12 years maybe more. Their cuts were great! he always looked good when he came home. Now we have a Cavalier King Charles and he has just had one cut so far (is going next week for his second) but he was happy when I picked him up and they did a great job on his cut as well! I moved away from Corvallis 2 years ago now and I have yet to find a place that even comes close to the Albany Pet Hotel. My dog always trotted gleefully into his kennel and came home happy (even though he's typically skittish and shy). The staff is fantastic and the prices are great. They even have an option for a quieter room with larger kennels for dogs that might be uncomfortable with the normal "barky" atmosphere found in boarding facilities. I am especially writing this review for a particular groomer. I did not get her name but she filed my 16-year-old​ mini poodle mix nails and took the time to get rid of a few parts of matted fur. I did not think my dog needed a bath or hair trim because she was newly adopted from the humane society so she was shaved down when I got her. I had my dog board the Albany Pet Hotel for only one night but when I got her back, my dog was not distressed​ or anxious. I wish they would do reports/give feedback on the activity and notes of their stay but I understand that there are a lot more dogs than people. My dog stayed overnight back in February​ but I am only just now writing this review because my dog recently started to grow back all her fur and it is really difficult to find someone who will take my dog because of her conditions​. Also, I forgot to bring her vaccine paperwork but the receptionist simply called my vet to get the information she needed which was super convenient​. I would bring my dog here again for a groom but I have to commute from Corvallis and my dog does not like car rides. Wish there was this customer service in Corvallis. The groomers at Petsmart in Corvallis have disgustingly horrible customer service. read more
