Great mint! Huge bushel for cheap, and it made for some really great drinks - super fresh. Love this place.

Italian Sub: $20 for a foot long, the meat was so plentiful it's almost overflowing, enough for two meals. The prisciutto was tender and juicy; the salami was firm and savory with a strong smokiness. Both are thinly sliced, so despite the thick stack, it was relatively easy for a bite. The provolone cheese was also generously portioned, with a robust yet not spicy flavor and a subtle nutty aroma, perfectly complementing the two meats. The olive oil and balsamic vinegar were particularly outstanding: mellow, tangy, and with a fruity aroma of grapes, key to the complex flavor profile. The lettuce, tomatoes, and onions were all fresh, especially the onions were refreshing and a little zingy, perfect for removing the greasiness. Unfortunately, I was worried about not being able to roll it back up properly and making it inconvenient to carry (which it actually happened), so I took it away and ate it at the office. After about 40 minutes, the bread had become somewhat dry and hard.

The sandwiches themselves are massive and freshly made. The bread is the right amount of soft to crust. All in all I wouldn't change a thing it's definitely a must go.

Unfortunately, the customer service during our second visit was a complete disappointment. We arrived around 5:00 p.m., and the restaurant was only about half full. From the start, the service from an older waitress was rude enough that we almost walked out. I had forgotten my reading glasses at home and was having trouble reading the small print on the menu, so I looked at the menu displayed on the wall instead. The waitress suddenly took the menu from our table and repeatedly pointed to the paper menu, insisting that I use it instead. I explained that I couldn't see the small print, and only then did she drop the issue. When our food arrived, it felt like it was simply dropped on the table with no warmth or courtesy. We also witnessed another waitress respond to a customer who was unsure where they were seated by saying loudly, "Do we need to put up directions?!" in a sarcastic and embarrassing tone. It's unfortunate because the food is genuinely very good. However, no meal is worth being treated this way. There are many great Italian restaurants in Boston, and next time we visit, we'll be choosing one of them.

But we got lucky and we were promptly seated at the counter. I had the classic breakfast plate with bacon, sausage, home fries, and fried eggs. Everything was very delicious. The bacon just had the right level of crisp to it. It looks like there are quite a few long time customers to this place, which demonstrates that the quality of the food here is probably very consistent. The service here was awesome. The manager lady (her name is Regina) was very attentive, warm, and friendly. The ambiance overall like I said is very cozy. I always enjoy a good home made breakfast in a small diner. One thing to note that is that this place is cash only.

There's a mom and pop Italian feel to the whole place that was very charming. I was seated on their lower level where there was oldies music playing and a fun energy. The lobster ravioli was amazing and I actually used some of my garlic bread to soak up some extra sauce. Would go again on my next trip to Boston!

I have lived in Boston for 4 years and have religiously stated that Bella Verona was my favorite Italian restaurant but Tony & Elaine's knocked it out of the water. If I could eat here everyday I would, genuinely. I felt like I was at home if only home was in Italy, and Nonna was the one bringing out the food. - Bradley It was the perfect meal. Gnocchi is my favorite type of pasta, so when I saw it on the menu I knew I had to try her. Perfectly soft & paired with the vodka sauce--immaculate. The arancini was also worth calling my mom after. Our server knew what to recommend and I could have trusted him with my life. I'm ready to name my first born either Tony or Elaine. - Ryley
