I chose this dentist because of all the amazing reviews, and so I thought I'd detail my experience…read morebecause it wasn't as perfect as the reviews make it seem. They seem very knowledgable and seem to know what they're doing when it comes to dentistry, but my concerns are more in the administration side of things. I changed jobs earlier this year and got new insurance with a common major insurance provider, and I needed to get a procedure done. I asked them what the procedure would cost and they gave me a quote, which was already expensive, and I paid that at the time of service. However, when I came in for a routine cleaning 6 months later, they said the insurance "didn't pay as much as they thought" and stuck me with MORE THAN DOUBLE their original quote. I looked into the insurance claim and called the insurance company myself, and the insurance company paid exactly what was according to their billing schedule. There were no surprises. I think the office knew (or should have known, because they're the professionals and this is what they do) that this would happen, and they dishonestly gave me a lower quote, did the service, and then stuck me with the even more expensive bill (but to their credit, they did give me a lower price than what they billed to insurance, but it was still VERY expensive that I was not prepared for). Additionally, I distinctly recall the procedure treated four teeth, but then on the bill and insurance claim, they say they treated six. Unfortunately, I don't really know how to argue this, especially because it happened so long ago. I suspect they didn't contact me about this issue earlier for this exact reason. Again, dishonest. Another concern with this dentist is that it's unprofessional that they use Zelle to get around credit/debit card transaction fees. Every merchant has to deal with card transaction fees, they shouldn't be up-charging that cost and they shouldn't be using Zelle, which is supposed to just be a peer-to-peer payment network. Lastly, as much as I love dogs, I don't think it's hygienic that they keep a dog in their office. In all, I started off loving this dentist, and very disappointed that they turned out to be this unprofessional and dishonest. I'm sad I'll have to go elsewhere from now on.

Everyone was SO kind and always went above and beyond (except one...but I think she was new and…read moredidn't quite understand the vibe of the place yet). I have an INTENSE fear of the dentist, let alone a periodontist. Just the thought of going was enough to make me shake and feel sick. But once there, and in the chair, everyone was great. I asked them to explain everything in great detail, and they did. That was really nice. From there, things were surprisingly smooth. When I had questions after...even weeks or months later, they were highly responsive and patient. Unfortunately, I am not able to continue with the implant process with them. They only use titanium implants and I have a sensitivity to titanium (I strongly encourage biocompatibility testing prior to any device doing into your body). So, this is where I leave them. Crazy enough, they made my experience not so bad!

Brenda at the front desk and his hygienists always knows me by name! Dr. Fowler is so so nice and such a skilled dentist too. My favorite thing is that he explains everything. During a filling, for example, he will always check in with you to make sure you're doing okay. At each step in the procedure he will explain what is happening. Takes away any anxiety or nerves. My boyfriend was thinking about doing dental school and actually got to shadow Dr. Fowler for awhile as well! It just seems obvious that Dr. Fowler loves being a dentist, so its no surprise that he does such great work. I will be truly sad when I go off to grad school next year and have to find a new dentist, I'm sure it will take awhile to find a suitable replacement.

I went to Arcadia Dental Arts for the first time and was really impressed with how thorough my…read morefirst appointment was. It was literally the most thorough dental exam I've ever had, with digital X-rays (including the panos that my last dentist didn't do), CT scans if needed, lots of photos, a tooth-by-tooth evaluation, oral cancer screening, even looking at mobility, jaw movement, etc. (Finally my knowledge of the sternocleidomastoid muscle comes in handy.) Dr. Pappas even pointed out something I'd brought up to a different dentist years ago and had completely forgotten about. He's also very transparent about whether a treatment can wait or needs to be done right away. The hygienist I had was also very thorough, so I definitely felt like I was in good hands all around. I switched here after a decade at a different dental clinic that had been cutting a lot of corners. As someone without specialized knowledge, navigating dental care can be frustrating and time-consuming. I find it so frustrating--as someone with no real knowledge of dentistry--when I feel like I to have to spend time attempting to research what dentists or other doctors should be doing so I can make sure they actually do it, or to figure out what to do about pain or issues they dismiss or tell me to ignore. We all have enough things to worry about without trying to become amateur dental or medical researchers. So it's a breath of fresh air to go somewhere like Arcadia Dental Arts where I can just kick back and relax knowing they're covering all the bases. Also the office is really nice, and it's right near Lola Coffee. And they have a super cute new patient gift bag, which was a nice touch! Glad to have found a new dental home.

I have been very happy with my experience here -- even though it has been quite a journey! Last…read moreyear my primary dentist told me something was wrong with my front bottom tooth and I needed to see a perio dentist. He referred me to Dr. Adashek at AZ Perio (in the Central PHX location). Upon arrival for my first visit everyone was very friendly at the front desk and every time after they always remembered me. After getting me into the room and conducting a brief exam, they brough in Dr. Adeshek who proceeded to tell me that my tooth needed to be removed and I needed an implant, but first I needed growth hormone to try to grow back some of the bone in order to put the implant in. I was so shocked and was not prepared for this news but he was so kind and understanding as I processed this information. The tooth removal and growth hormone procedure was scheduled right away and they made me a temporary insert (almost like invisalign with a tooth). Right after the removal I received a follow-up call directly from Dr. Adashek which was so appreciative. Over the next 6 months I was going into the office every 6-8 weeks until the area was ready for the implant and then after while the implant healed. It was a major dental journey to be sure!! They don't actually do the crown once the implant is inserted so I had to go back to my regular dentist for this -- now i will go into the office every year to check the implant. Overall I have been very pleased with the care I received during this lengthy dental journey!! Hopefully I won't need to go back but if I do I would definitely go here again.

AZ Period was recommended to me by my dentist for evaluation of a tooth that was deteriorating…read more Upon exam it was discovered additionally that I had an infection behind a lower molar. It was highly recommended that I have that tooth pulled which I followed through with the following day. The removal was expert. I am so regretful that I did not seek a second opinion before proceeding with removal. It turns out that AZ Perio did NOT explain the less invasive and less expensive option of just removing the infection and monitoring the tooth afterwards. I regret being railroaded into an extraction. I regret that I was vulnerable to pushy sales techniques. I will not be following through with an implant and will never return to AZ Perio again. The excellent support staff at AZ Period are much appreciated.

I previously had all of my upper teeth redone by Dr. Willman and invested a significant amount of…read moremoney in the process. She did outstanding work, and I truly appreciated her care. Dr Willman is no longer with the practice. Huge, enormous, gigantic loss for Pima Dental. About four months ago, I returned because I needed to molars extracted. Let me note that after the extractions I had fully intended beginning work on all my lower teeth, fully expecting to make another substantial investment. This practice is not inexpensive... in my view it is extremely overpriced (especially after I share what happened below). I was prepared to pay another substantial amount to complete my treatment. I did miss one appointment due to a personal emergency. I attempted to call but was unable to get through, and at the time my focus understandably had to be on the emergency. At my next scheduled appointment, I drove over 45 minutes from north Phoenix. I arrived and had X-rays done, and then met with a dentist who informed me that two teeth would need to be extracted by an oral surgeon and that the procedure could not be done there. While the dentist was courteous, the appointment ultimately resulted in a two-hour round trip simply to be referred elsewhere. I wish this had been communicated to me beforehand. As I was leaving, I was stunned when I was told not to leave and was informed that I owed a $50 missed-appointment fee. Mandy, the office manager, whom I had worked with before made it be known that I needed to pay $50. What disappointed me most was not the amount itself, but the complete lack of empathy or discretion--especially toward a long-standing patient who had already invested heavily in the practice and was prepared to invest significantly more. I understand that offices have cancellation policies. However, patient relationships should involve more than strict enforcement of fees. In my experience, this practice places profits above patient goodwill and patient satisfaction. Between the high costs of treatment and the rigid handling of this situation, it left me feeling that policies mattered more than people. As a business owner myself, I believe long-term trust, empathy, and relationships are what sustain a practice--not nickel-and-diming loyal patients. Unfortunately, this experience has led me to seek care elsewhere for the remainder of my treatment, and I will not be recommending this office moving forward ever again! I hope this feedback is taken constructively. My initial experience here was excellent, attributed primarily to Dr Willman, which makes this outcome all the more disappointing.
