I had an aching tooth and based on previous experience I booked an appointment with Dr. Thomas for an evaluation. As suspected, that tooth had a problem and needed a root canal which Dr. Thomas did the next day. Once again, he did an excellent job. After the anesthesia wore off I had minimal discomfort - I won't even call it pain. During the procedure Dr. Thomas was kind, gentle and supportive. His assistant was also excellent. I doubt that you'll find a better place for endodontics in the valley.

They fixed my bridge and my husband and I decided to go to them for future dental work. The bridge they had just made me chipped within a year and when they looked at it they said it wouldn't be a problem, even though the bridge they replaced had the SAME SIZE CHIP. Then why did I need to get the original one replaced? They told me I needed Invisalign and since my insurance paid 100% I went ahead with the work. I, however, had to pay the entire amount upfront. My insurance company made 3 payments. The last payment of $1300 was made about 7 months after we started (March). I called the office seeking reimbursement (I always had to call, they never just put it back on my card) and they said it could take up to a year to receive it from the insurance company. I said it had been sent and they said they didn't receive it. After not hearing from them about the money for 5 months I called my insurance company and they assured me they had sent it 5 months PRIOR. When I called they admitted it was received in March (now August). When I asked why they didn't call me they said "We have a lot of patients). After finishing my Invisalign treatment they asked me how I would pay for the retainer. I asked, "What retainer"? They said the one that is going to cost $800. I advised them nobody told me in the beginning about this expense and after looking at their records they agreed it had been missed. I decided to go somewhere else and had an excellent retainer made for $129. Again, this is another money grab. Subsequently, they set up a teeth cleaning. They were aware that my insurance covers 2X a year cleaning but they set it up a month earlier so that my insurance didn't cover it. Again, looking for MORE MONEY! They also told both myself and my husband that we need our wisdom teeth out. The estimate was VERY high and when I asked why they said that their surgeon was not in the network but we were unlikely going to get someone else to do it for less. I refuted that this was true and went to a surgeon who accepted our insurance and paid a fraction of what they had quoted us (another attempt to squeeze more money out of us). I had a very good high-coverage plan that was coming to an end (Cobra) and I went in for a cleaning and felt like some of my teeth might feel a smidge loose from the Invisalign. They then took an X-ray and said that one of my crowns needed to be replaced. This crown never bothered me before. Since my insurance was ending I asked how much it would cost for me to replace it. It wasn't a problem and I wasn't so inclined. They came back and assured me my responsibility would be $439.00. They said it was important to have this done. They made a new crown and within one week called me to tell me my insurance WOULD not cover it because it had just been replaced a year and a half ago by my other dentist. If it was just replaced, why would I need another one? Suspect for sure. IMMEDIATELY (even though it took them six months to pay me the money they owed me), the front desk started to call and harass me for another $600. Since I didn't agree with them, I asked that I be given the X-ray so that another dentist could look at it. That Dentist also agreed that it appeared to be a money grab. They said they would wait until the New Year before doing anything. Shortly after that, I received a collections notice. With that said, my original dentist was nice but after that it all went downhill. I have never had such a terrible experience with a dentist in my entire life. My husband and I have found different dentists and are much happier with our experience there. I highly suggest that you DO NOT use this office.

An emergency patient walked in and needed her temporary crown glued back on. I told them go ahead and work on her and in the meantim, I called my old dentist to see if I could get my X-rays emailed, since I have a few minutes, while they work on other patient. They sent them over. They finally call me back and the dentist first complained that my dentist from Denver sent over a panoramic, she said lazy dentist use those. She could not enlarge the other X-rays and she was quite flustered. I come to realize that X-rays must be their money maker. There was a lot of push to get me to take new X-rays. She finally ask why I am here and I replied for a cleaning. She said we never do cleanings on a first visit. I wish someone would have told me that. The sad thing is that it took me an hour round trip to get there and I was in there for over an hour for nothing. I wish dentists would understand, that we are busy people too. It is also sad that I am going to get a bill from this practice. I was surprised that no one has called me.

I am dear friends with my dentist at home (went to her for 20 years) and worried I wouldn't find anyone equal to her. My husband found Black Mountain Dental Care (BMD) and had the best experience! He came home and said I would love them and that l really must give them a try. Unfortunately, I had already made an appointment with my sisters dentist in Scottsdale. I went to this dentist and it was not the same, not even close to what I was used to. Something was missing. The ladies up front weren't that great and they could never figure out my insurance. So I said what am I waiting on! I switched over to Black Mountain Dental! YAY!! It was the best move I ever made bc they truly are the best dental office I have ever had. The entire staff is incredible! Over the past 2 years -I have gotten to know the AMAZING DENTISTS AND STAFF! Dr Mostafa Hedayat , Dr Morrow, and Dr Fletcher! They are all equally incredible and so talented. My son is now going to BMD and he lives 1 hour away. My elderly parents also now go here and my sister and her family switched from that not so good Scottsdale dentist to BMD! We ALLLLLL LOVE THIS PLACE! The office itself is SUPER NICE, BIG AND STATE OF THE ART! It is always totally sterilized and spotless. They offer lil comfy spa items during your visit, as well as drinks etc. We go 3 times a year (I would go every week-if I could). Awhile back an old crown came off. I feel like my gums are at the spa!! She spent a great deal of time on my teeth. I always learn so much from her regarding teeth care. Hasina is one in a million! My family always ask for Hasina but have had other amazing hygienists, as well. The staff up front are just as classy (again..it must be a prerequisite lol) Over these past years I have really gotten to know them. They are all so helpful in making appts, insurance issues, and checking out. Richard is AMAZING! Somehow he always gets stuck with dealing with me lol. He always answers the phone in his welcoming voice and in the office has outstanding customer service. Iris always helps my mom with her insurance and billing. Devyn, Amanda, Suzanna, Annarose and all the other gals are just the best. I absolutely LOVE going to the dentist here! We have so much fun (or at least I do lol) that I don't want to leave. The staff at the front desk are so important. First impressions are lasting impressions. They are who we see first and are the face of the business.
