We hired Isaac immediately after purchasing our home because the inspection report disclosed an active leak where the heated sunroom addition connects to the main shingle roof. We specifically discussed that this transition area needed to be properly addressed to prevent future leaking.
Approximately 18 months after installation, the roof began leaking again in the exact same location, causing water intrusion, mold damage, and loss of rental income. Despite multiple attempts to resolve the issue directly, the problem continues.
Isaac has stated that the leak is not covered under warranty because we allegedly "turned a cold roof into a hot roof." However, the heated sunroom already existed before the roof project began, and there does not appear to have been a properly vented cold roof system in that section to begin with. A true cold roof requires exterior airflow and ventilation pathways, which do not appear to exist at the flat roof/shingle transition area.
Multiple roofing professionals and inspectors who reviewed the roof expressed concerns regarding the transition detail, waterproofing, ventilation, and possible insufficient ice-and-water shield coverage at the connection point where the leak is occurring.
I also requested that a permit be pulled during the project, but no permit was obtained.
At this point, I am left with a leaking roof, mold damage, repair expenses, and lost rental income, while the warranty responsibility is being denied.
Good service is not judged only when everything goes well. The true quality of service is shown when problems arise and how those problems are handled. Unfortunately, in my case, the experience after the issue appeared has been filled with avoidance, excuses, lack of communication, and statements that contradict the documented history of the property, which has been very disappointing. read more
