In my opinion, if I could, I would give this place more than just five stars.
Never will I ever step foot into a 'chain or franchise clinic' again, and here's the simple reason why ... when a company goes above and beyond for not only their customers but their employees as well, that's how you know you're in good hands. Now let me explain ...
From day one of stepping into their clinic (which was impromptu, btw), they have been nothing but kind, and generous to me as their patient.
I recently moved to Eagle River and did some driving around. I was surprised, for such a little town there sure are a bunch of massage clinic, I believe 3-4 right here within walking distance.
You'll realize when you walk in that they share their door with the bank next door. Their wait area is small, however quiet, but loaded with drinks like water, tea, some 'magic drink' that you get after your massage, and snacks for there and to go. To check in you swipe your signature on the iPad at the counter, type in your code, click your name and bam! Not to mention text alerts remind you of your appointment.
Once you meet your maker ... I mean masseuse, they escort you back to your room and you get down to business. You go over your trouble areas, where you would like to focus on, etc. They let you be alone in the room, obviously, to strip down to your comfort zone, and when you're ready you press a little button letting them know it's alright to enter.
From there, the magic happens. I have yet to find a masseuse I don't like. Now sorry if I butcher names. Martina is so fun! Depending on my mood determines how chatty I am, but usually I'm quite talkative with her. She just makes everything so comfortable. It shows how much she loves her job - based on her level of rapport, and besides she's been with Alaska Massage Clinic for a while. Sierra is small, but super strong. First session she suggested trigger point, and I defiantly underestimated her ability to get in there and work my muscles loose. Michael seems really intimidating, big handlebar mustache and all, but he is super sweet and not as scary.
To add to your massage experience you can also add oils. I want to say doTerra, but I'm not entirely sure really. But you can add these oils for comfort. I've had to twice, or maybe three times because I was so stuffed up between traveling and climate changes. And while I'm typically skeptical on those things, I think they really work!
Now the dreaded part. Your massage is over. Boo. But ... you will feel amazing when it is. It feel about the longest hour or hour and a half in your life, in the best way possible. When it comes to payment, typically you're looking at around 100 bucks. And while they might be steeper than most places, their service alone makes it worth it (or if you're a lucky duck like me, and have bomb insurance, you can get your hour long massage for $30)!
At the end you also get that magic drink I mentioned earlier in the review. I've been there a ton of times, and every time I miss what this drink is because I'm in such a daze once I'm done. So I couldn't tell you what exactly it is, except that there tastes great - and if you've read my past reviews, you know that's hard for me to say since 99.9 percent of the time I'm a water drinker. Usually it's here where you sometimes also get rewarded with a little token of appreciation from the clinic. Since I have been there, which is only three months, I've gotten popcorn favors, bath salts, handwritten cards, etc.
This business is the sweetest, and it's no surprise that customers like me have turned loyal to them.
This place is hands down one of my best kept, go-to not-so-secrets spots in Eagle River. read more
