Ive been through absolute hell with this airlines.
I had a flight from Anchorage, Ak to Seattle, WA where there was a layover for 4 hours then i get to catch a flight back home to Lihue, HI. My partner and I flew from Anchorage to Seattle and as soon as we to touch ground, i turn my phone off airplane mode to get a notification that my flight back home was canceled. We talked to a customer service agent and she said she got us tickets for a flight the next day. We asked if there was any compensation and she said we could get discount codes of $100 for each ticket. It was no problem for us and it relieved stress due to the fact we wanted to go back to Alaska this summer. Although, we were worried about our baggage. We were told in Anchorage that our baggage would be heading straight to lihue, but with that lihue flight canceled, we had to be positive. We had to be sure.
The SEATAC Airport Alaskan Airlines baggage claim was absolutely insane. Lucky for my partner and i we were 5th in line and only had to wait an hour to get an answer. We were told by a lady that didnt act like she knew what she was doing but told us she was 100% sure our baggage would be in Lihue when we arrived. Just to be sure, we got help from another lady that told us our luggage was in the Seattle airport and that it would get to us in lihue when we landed.
We got an agent that was really kind and really patient when we got off the flight. Our flight had been canceled and She had said she had gotten us tickets for the flight and we felt a lot less stress. Although when it was time to check in the next day online, the app told us we couldnt. So we had to call seattle and about an hour later, we found out the lady did not book the flight. She got the tickets for us but didnt make it official or something like that. We spent an hour to do something that would have taken us 5 minutes to do.
On the flight from seattle to lihue, there was no wifi. Usually with alaskan airlines, people are allowed to see the map of where we are and how much longer it will take to reach the destination. This time i was not offered this, so i had no idea how much longer that flight would be, it made me anxious. he female flight attendant was a bit rude. When giving food out it seemed as if she was in a rush. She asked as fast as possible "kind bar or biscoff" it threw my off because I didn't know what she was asking for a minute but when i figured it out i said "ill take a kind bar" she practically shoved it into my hand. At the end of the flight, we were supposed to fill out an agricultural form because we were landing in hawaii. From the time the flight attendants gave the form up to when they were going to collect it , they were not around. I didnt have a pen on me and i wasnt going to ask another person for one due to the fact corona is everywhere, so when this same female flight attendant cane to pick up the form, i asked her " im so sorry i dont have a pen, could i borrow one?" She rolled her eyes, and threw her hands in the air and said "does anyone here have a pen she can borrow" a nice gentleman offered his pen, and i felt like i had no choice but the use it. It took less a minute to fill out and she stood there staring the whole time so when i was done, she grabbed it out of my hand and went on whatever important mission she needed to get done. The food provided was a bit pricy. Pre orders were kind of pricy seeing they were just boxes of snacks that didnt leave me near full, and the tiny bag of popcorn is incredible tasting but its a tiny bag for $2. The chips offered were also $2, but the one i bought, i kid you not was 1/3 full. I had paid $2 for 4 chips. Because it was an early morning flight, i did not have the option to eat before getting to the airport and because we arrived in lihue so late, every store was closed so we were starving overnight.
When we landed in Lihue, our airport only had one of the 3 checked bags. We decided to wait for the next day to ask about the other two since it was already 10:30pm and we were exhausted. The next day i asked about my two luggage and i was told they were still in Seattle and i had to wait for them to call me when it arrives. Between that day and 3 days later, i called once a day to get an update and i got unclear answers. That third day i only got one of the two missing bags which was my bag of frozen fish. Thank goodness the fish was alright. There was no update on my last bag. read more
