We contacted Marc at Alan Jackson Pools for an estimate on a pool. We had no idea the type of design, whether we wanted a spa, nor where we wanted to locate it within the backyard. From the moment Marc arrived, he was nothing short of professional, very helpful, and obviously very knowledgeable. He worked with us on developing a design, the tile style and color, coping style, LED lighting, pebble finish, decking, fencing, and more. The staff at Alan Jackson pools were highly professional, polite, courteous, and respectful. Marc, Eddie, and John frequently visited the site to ensure things were moving along as planned, including when contracted work was occurring, such as the concrete, pebble finish, etc. The communication throughout the process was impeccable. We always knew what to expect, and there were never any surprises. Alan Jackson Pools and Marc cut no corners with the equipment and even included some essential pool care items, test kit, and a pool start up service which was a three day process. One of my employees at work had a horrible experience with a local pool builder who cut corners, installed underpowered pool equipment, did an awful job with the tiling, and resulted in a lien attached to his home title due to the company not paying one of the contractors. At the end of the day, his pool ended up costing more money than what we paid for ours with Marc at Alan Jackson Pools. We are incredibly pleased with the excellent customer service, professionalism, and outcome. We highly recommend contacting Marc at Alan Jackson Pools. It's not worth the headache and risk of going with a non-reputable company. You're risking a possible lien should contractors not be paid, potential lawsuits related to any injuries occurring should they not have proper workers' comp insurance, the company disappearing with your money before the work is done, the company not being around to honor the warranty in the event something needs addressing, and more. We highly recommend you contact Marc at Alan Jackson Pools, and are confident that you won't be disappointed. We need to wait for warmer weather to complete the sealant around the coping, and once that is finished, I will edit the review to include more photographs from different angles and showing off the LED lighting.

In my 30 years of living and interacting with local businesses in the AV. I can honestly say Alan Jackson is by far one of the best local contractors around. From the beginning to end I never felt that I was alone in the process of designing and building the pool. This was my first pool and I can tell you it won't be my last pool from Alan Jackson. The are the best in my opinion!!! No complaints and better yet no remorse. My family is so happy thanks again Marc, John, Eddie and of course Dawnica. This is a five star establishment.

Almost finished pool/jacuzzi..

Alan Jackson receive 10 stars.. They are the best... I am so happy with the work they did.. I recommend anyone who is considering building a pool / jacuzzi to hire this professional company. From start to finished, with permits and licensed. Thank you!!

Making a decision to put swimming pool in can be a stressful one. Once a decision is made to move forward it can be quite the undertaking. Having received several bids we decided to go with Alan Jackson Pools. Marc Nagel met with us for our initial consultation and listened to our ideas on design and purpose for our pool. No pressure whatsoever. He took measurements of the yard and came back to us with his design based on the information he gathered from us in his initial consultation. What we liked most is everything that the other bidders were trying to upsell us on, Alan Jackson's bid included. We knew exactly what we were getting into and what the project would cost. This was so important as most builders wanted to land the job and then nickle and dime us for all of the features included in Alan Jackson's bid. Our project is 2 weeks and 4 days in and we are beyond impressed with Alan Jackson Pools and our pool project. Excavation started on January 14th, shotcrete on January 22nd....wow what a phenomenal team!!! The customer service and craftsmanship is top notch. Marc, Alan, John, Danicka and the rest of the staff have made this a great experience thus far. Their steady progress has been remarkable. Communication was paramount to us. Our calls and questions are always answered by Marc or John. Thank you Marc, Alan, John, Eddie, Steve (excavator), Danicka and all of your staff for taking care of us. If you are trying to make a decision on who to go with for your project I really hope this helps. These guys are the best!!! STAY TUNED FOR THE REVEAL!!‍

My beautiful pool!

I wish I could give this team 10 stars. That's how awesome they all are! A little about myself, I am a bit OCD, organized, and need to know everything that is happening. When, where, who, what time it's going to happen, and how long it's going to take. I hate surprises and I hate dishonest people even more. I am particular, yes picky and a woman that knows what I want! I interviewed 6 different companies and received 6 different bids for a pool and spa before getting my 7th bid from Marc. I told him I am a very patient person, as long as you keep me informed. We signed in October of 2020 and I chose to push out the project until the first Monday of the new year. I didn't want construction during the holidays. Every single item that was outlined in our contract, start times, finishing times, payment dates, etc was honored. They broke ground on Jan 4th, my pool was completed by April 14th in time for my birthday! Did I mention I got the most bang for my buck with this company. I am a numbers person and I had to read the contract and check with my calculator 3 times because I couldn't believe the package I was purchasing! It was a deal!! Of course there was a few hiccups along the way, it's construction. Every single construction project I've worked on something pops up, it's how the contractor handles the situation which is extremely telling. Marc and John passed with flying colors. Especially during COVID times, they really did go above and beyond to bring my dream pool to life! Again, I am also the person asking 101 questions and not once did Marc or John mind. Well, John got a little grumpy with me once or twice, but I loved busting his chops hahaha :-) Truly a wonderful team. They were very respectful of my home, my children's park area and keeping the area secure for my dogs. They cleaned up every single day before leaving the site. They would even ring my doorbell to say goodbye and tell me to lock up so my dogs could go outside. The team was also very detailed oriented. They asked me if I wanted a square or rectangle, a line going this way or that way, colors, you name it I was consulted with before hand. I even ended up hiring the person that does their pool start ups, to maintenance our pool weekly, Dave. He does an excellent job keeping our pool water looking Caribbean blue! I've recommended Alan Jackson pools to all my friends, even my friends in LA are interested. Thank you Alan Jackson pool team, you all have been outstanding and we are loving our new pool! Stay safe and cool out there!

Amazing lighting within the pool!

Alan Jackson pools was absolutely terrific through our entire experience with them. Marc and his team truly made a difference in the entire process. This was a large investment for our family to enjoy for years to come. Marc took our ideas, put them on paper and then made them come to life. Our pool is exactly as we envisioned it. From the materials to the lights and everything in between, I wouldn't have changed a thing. Every question or concern we had through the process was quickly answered and even when we wanted to add or change items originally agreed upon, Marc and team were very accommodating. If you are looking for a quality pool with high end materials and top notch customer service, then Alan Jackson Pools is the #1 option!

More "repaired" tile with mushy grout-like substance oozing out.

NOT recommended! Sloppy; poor workmanship; Substandard engineering skills; poor communication and virtually no supervision of their laborers. DEFINITELY NOT DETAIL ORIENTED! Alan seems to be phasing into retirement. Without it's namesake the company didn't live up to its previous reputation. I dealt with Marc Nagel, and John, his construction supervisor. I entered into a contract with Alan Jackson Pools on February 04, 2020 for a pool refurbish job: the removal and replacement of my existing cantilever coping; remove and replace all tile from the pool and conjoined corner jacuzzi (spa); remove and replace existing skimmers; remove and replace power pool cover; remove faded gray gunite, replace with pebble finish. They put the new skimmers in when they poured the cantilever. Next came the tile but they made a huge rookie mistake -- not calculating the required water level for the skimmers, before determining the height of the spa wall. The new skimmers had been put in the same places, at the same heights, as the old ones, but they didn't do the math on the jacuzzi dam walls. The wall was too low! Once the pool was filled, their error was painfully obvious. I brought it to their attention, yet no one would acknowledge that they had miscalculated the dam height... insisting that a hole, drilled into the cover vault wall, would "fix" the issue. I'm no engineer, but it was obvious to me that a drainage hole into my cover vault wasn't going to fix the skimmer issues; however it would result in numerous additional problems. If you know pool/spa configurations, you know what I'm speaking of. Additionally, the new tiles were falling off of the pool wall in the shallow end, they left a mess of trash and hardened concrete all around as well as overspray on the pool-slide and planters. Very unprofessional!!!! If you want the details and photos, read on. Summary of the text I wrote to Marc Nagel on 27, May 2020: "The pool is not functioning with the jacuzzi dam at the height your company made it. If I fill the pool to the very top of the jacuzzi dam, the skimmers work and the cover is more or less supported by the pool water, as it is supposed to be. However, the vacuum hose repeatedly floats over the dam and becomes trapped in the spa where it then gets pulled into the cover vault and entangled in the pool cover when I turn the key to open the pool. This has resulted in damage to hose segments and potential damage to the cover. Another issue that results when I keep the water high enough to support the cover and make the skimmers work, is spa overflow. The spa cannot retain, and recirculate, the heated water as it's supposed to, because the dam wall is too low. If I lower the water level significantly, it helps to impede the vacuum hose from floating into Jacuzzi and reduces the volume of heated spa water pouring into the pool. However, with the pool water level that low, the skimmers do not work and the huge cover is not supported by the water as it opens and closes. John suggested drilling a hole in the wall between the vault and the pool, but I don't understand how that will correct the issue. " Marc responded on May 27th., by text, saying he'd get with Alan and get back to me. He also doubled down on the "hole in the wall" fix that John recommended. I did not hear back from anyone at Alan Jackson Pools for the next six weeks. On July 06, I left a voice mail, on the company's line, for Alan Jackson himself. I reported a new development; several tiles had already fallen off of the wall, at the opposite end of the pool! I further explained that I had retained a construction defect Attorney, because the problem was not being addressed by his staff. Word of an attorney getting involved seemed to motivate a response. Marc and John came out on July 07, 2020 and finally conceded that the spa wall was, in fact, too low. They began corrective measures the following Monday. After draining several feet of water out of my pool, they commenced to removing tile and grinding grout and concrete off of the entire dam and the areas in the shallow end where the tile fell off. This corrective work was very messy. Two guys came out after I drained the pool down several feet ($$$$$) and the jacuzzi dam wall was rebuilt at the proper height. But the tile isn't flush with the pebble finish and they left my pool a cloudy mess. Their pool maintenance guy said it was because my suction was poor -- sure... the filter was packed with the fine concrete dish that dropped into the pool as they ground off their screw-up! I cleaned the filter grids myself and it eventually cleared up. NEITHER MARC NOR JOHN EVER CALLED OR STOPED BY TO SEE IF THE REPAIRS WERE DONE CORRECTLY! Look at the photos. Cracks, misaligned tiles and grout that looks like it's melting and it's still that way. HELL NO! For the money that Alan Jackson charges, it should have been done correctly the first time!

Simply the best out there! Marc Nagle is a true professional. I called Marc on a Thursday, he was at my house the next day to draw up a design and give a bid. excavation took place two weeks ahead of schedule and the project ran smooth for the entire process. Marc and John always answered their phones or called me back quickly. I heard about other people having trouble with local pool builders. I did research and saw all the good reviews on alan jackson. They certainly earn their 5 stars. You may find someone cheaper, but they probably won't show up on time and take a check and run. Alan Jackson pools was always on time and at my house when they said they were going to be .

This is our second pool by Alan Jackson, and wow. Can you say amazing. Marc, John and Eddie are all super professional when it came to planning and working on the design of our backyard. Everything was done in 3 months just as promised. Communication is always a breeze and be reassured you'll never have a worry. Anytime a friend is looking to do their pool, I always send them to Alan Jackson. Trust me you won't regret it.

Do not have them build your pool. Still regretting having them build ours. Bad detail and bad design in the mechanics

We called multiple turf companies and most wanted a deposit just to come to our house in Tehachapi,…read morethe only one who didn't, was JNR. They were so helpful and they let us do our meeting online to save us time and effort. The price was a bit more than other quotes we received, but the quality and professionalism or JNR was outstanding and totally worth it. All the other turf installers gave us a wait time of 6 months! JNR said it would take about 4 weeks for installation, which was acceptable. Two weeks went by and we got a call from JNR asking if we would like to have the turf installed in 2 days! Needless to say we were very happy. When the crew came to our house, they were professional, friendly and courteous. The guys answered all of my questions and I could tell they knew what they were doing. It was a pleasure to have them at our house. I've already told my friends and when we are in the market for turf installation again, JNR will definitely get my business! Thank you JNR!!!

We used RNJ a few years ago for a turf project at our old house and were very happy with that work, so I knew choosing RNJ for this project was the right choice. On construction day, the work was performed as explained. The project took only a day and a half and looks great. The cost was reasonable for what I wanted done. I will defiantly hire RNJ again.

They designed a louvered patio cover for an odd shaped area that none of the other companies…read morecontacted could work out for us. It turned out absolutely perfectly and we couldn't be happier with the outcome. Very professionally handled from the start to finish.

We were looking for a patio cover in 2025. Met with Tony Alumworks designer. We liked the materials…read moreoffered, and he understood what we wanted. Got an estimate and contract from Business Manager Jenny. Drew, the owner of Alummworks, took measurements, and offered good advice. Installation was set for 12-19 2025. Crew came early and got to work. They looked organized and knew what to do. Later noticed that there were two spots on wall where one beam was to be attached.. The foreman, Kevin, said they made a mistake with where it went. Stucco was ruined but too late. Came out a minutes later and they had drilled the other side then moved it back to the original spot!! Three times and first time was correct. A cover is extruded metal. Made to be straight and square. There is NO way to make it go in ANY other direction. Damage was done. They cut notch in roof fascia for clearance. Fascia had been cut for the two wrong spots and wood scraps stuck on with caulking. The beam was making contact with fascia allowing for wood rot when wet. Installation started 12-19, finished 12-20, Kevin said that ours was the last job before their holiday vacation. I contacted Drew 12-22. He left for holidays. He returned 1-5 and came 1-9. I looked at the cover and saw many small holes on the other attached beam that were plugged with caps. When Drew came I asked what they were. He said he did not know. Later saw that those holes are to attach the roof to the main beam. 32 holes total. They measured wrong and kept drilling wrong holes. Instead of realizing the beam was ruined the decision was made to install, plug holes, and not say anything. I started to repair the stucco. Kevin plugged 12 holes. Sloppy repair so I removed it. There was no wood inside the wall and the beam was not attached. I opened the inside wall. NO wood and the beam attached with 1 out of 6 bolts. When it was installed they did not hit wood so decision was made to use only one and not say anything. With an issue like that work should be stopped and a different approach used. I never would have found out except for the ruined stucco. Leaving it like that was completely unsafe to our personal safety and our house. I contacted Drew who dismissed it, defended Kevin, and called it "embarrassing". When I sent photos his attitude changed. He didn't come to look but suggested a "fix" that was not doable with broken stucco and cover assembled. I'm sure he understood what happened and what was needed to fix. At this point I had NO confidence in Alumworks. I made a wood "plate" fastened to the framing to surround the un-attached beam fasteners and fill with construction adhesive inside the wall. Long complicated repair that was the ONLY way outside of disassembling the entire cover. I had all stucco repaired and a hand applied finish done. House is sprayed stucco so the repair does not match. I cut a gap in the fascia around the beam and replaced the sloppy "repair" wood pieces. Over 40 hours fixing these issues. I messaged Alumworks and shared photos of repairs. Jenny responded someone would get back to me. Weeks ago. No contact since. I don't like to leave negative reviews for small businesses. This was such a blatant surprise I have no choice. The 4K materials and Solara louvered roof are very well made and what we envisioned. Unfortunately the Alumworks installation and the complete lack of respect for us and our home, concern for their work, and followup is horrible. I am angry that I had to finish job I paid for. I overpaid for what was promised and contracted for. The bad beam and stucco will be a reminder and the installation will always be suspect. This is also an indicator that the warranty with Alumworks is worthless. This was supposed to be a fun purchase. We are completely disappointed. This was not the first cover this crew installed. Makes you wonder about them all.
