December 5th was the last Gardiner Art Walk for this year. It was a balmy 8° outside, the coldest night so far. But the smell of homemade meatballs lured me into the gallery! Yes. Meatballs. Alan Claude studio always has fabulous food for art walk night, tonight was meatballs and tiramisu. Delish!!!! I looked through the 8x10 prints to find some winter scenes to bring home. But did get a little overwhelmed by the amount people sharing the gallery and shop space and had to duck out. But! He always runs a really good sale for the 8x10s, where you can pick three for one set price. So I've made my list, I'm checking it twice and I'm sending my Santa back to pick them up. Nobody how busy the gallery is, Alan himself ALWAYS makes a point to greet every single person that steps in the door. He's also happy to take photos and sign art! read more

Always a pleasure to visit. The atmosphere is not stodgy, but rather open and inviting. Always worth stopping in here.

We were walking down Water street after breakfast and happened upon Alan's gallery. We were warmly greeted upon entering and were allowed to freely roam before being talked with; we appreciated letting to see the art ourselves and just experience the gallery. We then spoke with two of the friendliest women I have interacted with in a very long time (one with longer brown hair and one with shorter blonde hair)! Unfortunately I lost the post it where I wrote their names down (shame on me). However, they were so friendly and shared information about the area for us to know and experience while there on vacation. We also met Alan who was truly just the most genuine person with a very honest spirit about him; you could tell he meant everything he said (and it was all positive). We were so lucky to have happened upon this gallery and take home some prints with us. read more

The Alan Claude Gallery is fabulous. I've admired his work for years. I am so happy to be able to browse his in person store. The setting along the Kennebec River in an historic brick building is just the right venue to display his colorful graphic work. Love, love, love it. read more
