From start to finish this was an incredible experience. So when landing into Eppley Airport you will need to follow signs that seem to go on forever. They will lead you to a giant area that has every car rental company in one room. Once there you will meet a wonderful Alamo representative. Now at this point you will encounter your usual car rental questions and they will ask if you want their insurance or not. As soon as you sign all the paperwork you will be instructed to follow the signs to the paper garage. It's a very short walk and once outside you'll see a booth that says "Alamo" on it. At that booth you'll meet another friendly person who will walk you over to the cars. My favorite part with this is that all the cars are parked based on their category type. So he walked me over and showed me all the cars in my category. He then let me choose which car I'd prefer! I've never had a car rental company do that and it was great because I got a Dodge Charger. The return process is super easy! There is a gas station right down the street from the airport that you can use to fill up the gas tank at. Once you're inside the garage you can follow the signs and they will instruct you where to park. Once you park you'll be greeted by a friendly staff member who will inspect the car. The walk from here to the terminal gates is a very short walk. I will definitely rent again if I'm in Omaha again! read more

This time around we rented through Hotwire. In order to get their deal, you don't know which rental car company you are getting until you pre-pay. We found a deal and took it, learning then it was Alamo. I think it has been many years since I rented from them, and never while in Omaha. We rented a full-sized car. Since we needed to carry a wheelchair, we asked for one with a large trunk and were told to tell the folks at the booth when we pick it up. There is a shuttle to the cars. When we arrived, we were upgraded to a Nissan Pathfinder with the works. The only problem we had was it was labeled a non-smoking car and, after we drove in it for a while, we realized there was a strong smell of smoke. It was bearable but we were concerned they would charge us the "smoking fee". Since I'm not reviewing the car but Alamo, I won't say anything about the Pathfinder other than it was nice. When we returned the car, since we prepaid for it, we were charged for the full tank of gas we bought. And, since we mentioned the smoke smell, they discounted the total about 20%. Nice plus. Kudos to Alamo for standing behind what they sell. read more

Rented a car at the Omaha airport, Nissan Rogue. Drove for 4 days, no problems. Went to start the car on the 5th morning and it was dead. Had to have a relative drive me to the Lincoln airport to get a replacement car. They didn't have a lot of cars, I asked the gentleman what happens if you didn't have any cars? He said I would have been out of luck and stuck. (The replacement car was all scratched up, but at least it worked) A tow truck was supposed to pick up the dead car. Two months later I get a claim in my email. They want to charge me for the towing! I thought it was spam. Currently Alamo has the claim under review. They are stating that a rodent chewed through some wires and I was responsible because the car was under my care. I told them they were crazy! Beware of renting from Alamo! read more

2 weeks ago my husband and I picked up our rental. We decided to upgrade to a luxury vehicle just because. When we got inside the car there was a faint smell- we thought rolling the windows down and airing out would help. Over the next day and so in the smell became terribly worse. We didn't even want to drive it cause it was SO bad and used our families car for a portion of our trip. It honestly smelled like something had crawled inside the car and died. On our way back to the airport to drop off car, we noticed there were feathers and a duck hunting receipt. When we dropped off the car we let the guy know about the smell who then took the keys pretty much said ok, I'll pull it for detailing, have a great day. I've emailed 3 times since then and have not heard a word back from anyone. Why pay for a "luxury" car if it smells to the point where you can't drive it. We were so disappointed and even more disappointed that they disregarded our concerns. I HAVE ALREADY EMAILED THE EMAIL ADDRESS PROVIDED BELOW 3 TIMES. I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY RESPONSE. I made my reservation on line... got to Omaha and the counter was closed so I had to take the shuttle to the main lot. Oh well... The car was clean and got great mileage... Went to turn the car in and there were "fees" and costs that almost doubled the on line rental fee. I will stick with the companies that are upfront about costs from now on! read more

This is an odd way to pick up the car. Go to counter at the airport, walk to shuttle stop which is right outside the terminal, take a quick shuttle, go to the kiosk by the cars to pick up keys, drive off the lot without anyone checking for previous damage. The car I chose had some dings and tape. Luckily I took video of it on the lot before I drove off. I was planning on telling the person at the exit. The Alamo counter shares their counter with another car rental company. Because a conference was in town, they were sharing cars and customers. The representative was friendly, and they even had a gas deal offering $2.99/gal. This is nice, but it was even better that they offered this for a half tank as well. We got this deal. It's always nice to save on gas! I didn't hear them offering the half tank offer to everyone though, which was weird because I'm sure more customers would have taken the deal if they knew it was valid for a half tank as well. The car we got had some cosmetic damage, and even a bit of bird poop. It didn't look like it had been cleaned. We wanted to make sure we weren't going to be charged for the condition of the car, so we alerted the attendant. He was pretty helpful and took notes about the condition and did a walk-around with us. He told us he wouldn't have charged us anyhow. When we returned the car, we were busy clearing out our luggage and making sure we had all of our belongings, but the attendant just lurked right by the driver's side window the entire time, even though I told him we would need a few minutes. It was incredibly awkward and he made us feel rushed. I really didn't appreciate him just watching us and making comments, like "Oh, that bag looks heavy"...it was super weird. The place was by no means busy either, so it's not like we were holding up the line. There was another car clearing their luggage out, but they didn't have a lurking attendant. As we were just two women together, it just felt uncomfortable. I could have done without that. read more

Really liked this experience. Rented through Costco for business getting a compact to keep costs down. When I got there, they upgraded me for free to a Chevy Cruise which was a delightful rental car. Upon returning the car, I paid even less than expected for some reason, but I am not complaining. Hopefully the new rental location at the airport will be more convenient. Renting a car through Hotwire and ending up renting with Alamo was the WORST car rental experience EVER! Based on my experience with Alamo, I will never rent another car through Hotwire. Alamo accused and charged me of ridiculous damage caused during my car rental. I'm a 58 yr old director of software development at a Fotune 100 company, not a punk kid with no respect for other people's property. Absolutely NO damage happened during my rental. In fact, I'm one of those obsessives who insists on filling the gas tank to the last drop from the closest gas station to the rental drop-off, even though I picked up the car with less than a full tank (and this was the case on this rental!). I even park my rentals away from other cars to avoid issues. Me, damaging the rental? Ridiculous!!! Are you kidding!?! To add insult to injury, Alamo had the gall to charge me for ALL body damage of the two year old rental car lifespan caused by all previous renters of the car ($1230), not just the damage they claimed was caused during my rental period (roof damage of $650). Wow! Unbelievable! My bargain $64 two-day rental cost me and my Insurance company $1230 and countless hours providing documentation to pay for ALL the body damage repairs of a two year old POS. I believed Alamo was a good corporate company. Stupid me! I can't believe how wrong they proved me. Hotwire should re-consider their partnership with Alamo. There are other booking companies and rental companies that respect and serve good and decent customers. Alamo will not get my business ever again! I was a good and epic customer, but Alamo treated me like dog-sh*t. You don't deserve me as a customer. Never again! Shame on you, Alamo! read more

this has been a nightmare. I booked a van for the end of April at the Omaha airport. I booked it through the Delta app. I have an alamo confirm number and a delta confirmation number and when I picked up the vehicle the counter lady said "and this is through Delta" and I said "yes". AND DESPITE ALL THIS EVIDENCE... they gave my points to American Airlines. I have made more than 5 calls asking that they claw back the American Airlines miles and give me the Delta MQDs and Delta miles I deserve. Alamo Insiders says it has to be resolved by the airport but you cannot actually reach the Omaha airport so round and round we go with ZERO resolution. I have spent about 48 hours on hold various times with no resolution. Seems like a fairly easy thing to do. They screwed up!! and if they can't claw back the miles from American the correct thing is to give me the Delta miles I contracted for when I booked this!! VERY FRUSTRATING!! I have never seen a company on the corporate/ resolution side run so poorly. Maybe they should look at the counter people and airport helpers who are lovely for how to treat a customer. What an adventure this place was. After flying from L.A. to Omaha for a family Thanksgiving, we ventured up to the Alamo counter at Eppley Airport. I had previously reserved a car for around $190 via Expedia. The counter is conveniently close to baggage claim and right near the street exit. A fairly nice young man (I'd say in his early to mid 20's) greeted me and started typing away at his keyboard. He printed out my receipt and handed it over for initials and signatures. I was busy watching my young children who were pretty wild due to the fact they had been traveling for 8 hours. LUCKILY I remembered to check the paperwork before just signing everything. The price of the car rental? A whopping $460. I about choked. When I reviewed the sheet I come to see he had included every single option available. Insurance, gas, roadside assistance, and probably a magic fairy to guide my path. I told him this was nowhere near the price I had signed up for and to remove everything. He apologized and typed away some more. Out comes another print out. The price? $340. At this point I was getting pretty aggravated. I once again told him he wasn't even close while I fumbled through my phone in an attempt at finding my Expedia confirmation email. All this while watching my hyper kids. "Whoops," he says. "I guess the system didn't take off everything." No kidding, sherlock. The THIRD print out finally comes out and it's finally $190. Wow, what do you know? Without the shady junk that he was trying to slide past me the price was just what Expedia claimed it would be. The car itself was great and the return was easy. Thus, I'll give 2 stars although I'm tempted to give 1 just because of the very questionable practices at check in. Overall, be very careful renting here and watch for shady business practices. You may end up spending 100's more than you signed up for. read more

We booked a Cadillac through Costco for a week stay in Omaha. They had the car - yes! The car we actually booked ready when we arrived. The outside was a bit dirty and I did a drive through car wash which they reimbursed when we returned the car. They also graciously offered to drive us back to the terminal to avoid the shuttle since my wife had mobility issues. Car was well maintained and I think the exterior dirt was an anomaly of a brief rain. The inside was spotless. Perfect service and well beyond the typical even at the higher end places like Avis and Hertz. With the Costco rate it was also a very attractive rate for a great and comfortable car that assures my wife a comfortable trip with her back issues. read more

BEWARE!! I used my phone's map/gps to get me back to the rental lot. In a rush to get the shuttle to catch the flight, I realized I left my phone propped on the dash. The shuttle driver brought us right back. At that point someone told me the car was getting cleaned and went to get it. Upon returning with the car, they claimed there was no phone in the car. It was clear to me that someone had gone through it, (a bottle of mosquito repellant I had seen on the floor in the back seat earlier in our trip was now on the front passenger seat, for example.) Sure, my bad for forgetting my phone, but really? 5 minutes and you swipe it? When I tried to call a manager on my husband's phone there is no number to the lot- it goes straight to corporate, and the person I spoke to couldn't care less. Ruined my trip. DO NOT use them- someone's a thief and Alamo could give a shit. read more

Alamo has treated me right so far. Not only are they efficient and great but their selection of cars is plentiful. I recently visited Omaha and my reservation was for a premium car, upon check in at the airport Tyler was kind enough to upgrade me to a luxury car for $50 more. Had I did that via the app or online (despite me being an alamo insider) it would have been $200+ more. This is the third time we've rented a vehicle from Alamo at Eppley Field in Omaha. The reasons we rent vehicles from Alamo are: Price & friendly service. You just can't beat the price we receive by renting our Alamo vehicle through Costco Travel. Every single time Alamo has the best price and friendly service. Regarding this particular rental, they gave us the vehicle we wanted (same make & model we rented last year). They price adjusted the price even lower than the booked price through Costco Travel (which was already a good price) we didn't ask for this adjustment. They were running a bit behind and the vehicle was not ready on time, when it did come out it was still dirty (because they hurried too fast to produce the vehicle to us). They sent the vehicle back for wash & interior cleaning and apologized and reduced the price even more to accommodate our waiting longer (we didn't ask for this adjustment). Alamo aims to serve their customers in the very best manner they can! We'll be renting our vehicle from Alamo when we fly into Omaha next year too! read more

Had no issue with reservation desk all went well. Picked up reserved car as contracted drove to destination in Carter Lake and noticed 3 days into 6 day rental, car was leaking. During summer 1st thought always residual from running air conditioner. However after 3 days these large spots were not drying. It was oily. So exchanged car at airport. Upon returning today the agent checking in cars wants to inform me there was no problem with the first car. And continued to tell me it's rented. It was only condensation and car was checked out. I did not agree as my friends driveway & garage still, 6 days later has large oil stains. What is purpose arguing with a customer.? The oily spots did not dry as if it was condensation from air conditioner. No, it wasn't. Someone may want to question mechanics diagnosis? In addition just say nothing don't try to point out I don't know what I'm talking about. Travel industry is struggling as it is, don't make experience unpleasant. read more

The last two times that I have rented cars at the Omaha airport I have selected Alamo. The first time was due to some coupon or some such thing; the second time was because I recognized the rental agent from the previous time and remembered he had been very nice and of good humor. His name is Van Jones, and I have nothing but good things to say about my experiencing renting cars with him. He is highly competent and knowledgeable while at the same time being very friendly and approachable throughout the interaction. He even informed me of the progress on the new parking garage adjacent to the terminal that is to be complete by July 2019, which will make it much easier to rent cars than now with the offsite locale and required shuttle bus rides. When we parted ways this time, I said, "Don't you change now!" because he is so sweet to me every time. The whole team is great (even offering a free upgrade to SUV/truck from midrange sedan!) but Van is the tops! read more

My wife and I rent from this location often. I recently tried an Avis rental car location that is closer to us and quickly realized how much better Alamo is. I decided, after renting from this location about twenty times, that they deserve a five star review. We have never received an extra charge and the cost has always been exactly what they said it would be when we picked the cars up. The staff is so helpful here that on many occasion they will bring a specific type car up from the back lot when it is not on the main rental lot. We love that they do not buy the cheapest cars. The "standard" size car that we always ask for is one of the SEL Ford Fusions that have the leather heated seats and the V6 motor. The helpful staff have always gladly found one of the loaded fusions for us without acting as though we are picky. Omaha Alamo Rent A Car is about flexible and accommodating as a person could ask for. I made the reservation on-line, checked with the desk at the airport (next to baggage claim) and was greeted and served by a very friendly agent. I selected Allianz insurance with the on-line reservation, but the agent did try to sell me the Alamo insurance, stating the usual 100% coverage on non-use, etc. claims to the renter if an accident (and implying that Allianz would not cover that). Read the Allianz insurance thoroughly and carefully to know your coverage. the agent gave me the keys and out to the shuttle (after July 2, 2019 there will be no shuttle as the cars and desk are in the adjacent building, very nice and convenient. The desk agent DID NOT assign me a car, but said I could pick a car when at the pick-up point. My agent said that he had six different vehicles in my standard sport utility crossover class (Equinox, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Ford Edge, etc.) and which one would i like. I needed room in the second row for two adults and a booster seat for a 6 year old child. so, I chose the Dodge Durango, which my wife remarked was "huge" and VERY ROOMY. I recall looking at reserving a Durango for $750 directly, but by selecting the Jeep Cherokee through Priceline for $426 including taxes. The check-in when I returned was only 3-4 minutes, Richard looked at the vehicle, mileage, closed me out and I was on my way to my airline desk. My Alamo experience was really very outstanding for me. based on my experience at OMA, I would choose Alamo again, very definitely. read more

Overall, Alamo is a good car rental company. I am a loyal Alamo Insiders Member (I miss the free additional person which was available when I initially signed up as an Insider). My last renting at Alamo, however, was apparently just a series of timing issues - hoping this does not become the norm. There was no one in the garage, the kiosk was down, and one person servicing the counter. I only had one car option to take unless I wanted to pay a much higher rate for the next class size vehicle (initially I had 2 cars to choose from, but the one I selected was not able to take because it needed servicing). The one guy at the counter was polite. The car was okay, and the price was accurate according to my reservation. I am hoping the things that were not quite in order are not becoming the norm, but only instances of this one time. read more

Made reservation for car when I booked my flight. Weather delayed my flight by 1.5 hours. I called Alamo to make sure they would still be open for me to get the car since my flight was coming in after midnight now. They say " yes no problem we will be there" My plane finally arrived, I go up to Alamo station- I explained to them I had a reservation and had called earlier to inform them my flight was delayed. They said sorry, We RAN OUT OF CARS! I told them that can't be right, I had a reservation. Hoping they made a mistake since it was now 1 AM in the morning and options are limited. I wasn't even the only one they did this to. They told me I could rent from their competitors and in "about 3 weeks" Alamo would cut me a check for the difference. Now, do you think I will get that money back?! Please. They could have called me at least to let me know they were not going to have enough so I could arrange alternative plans. Or they should have arranged something with one of the other rental companies that are there at the airport. I have rented many cars with many different companies and this is the first time anything like this has happened. Use another car rental service. Alamo get it together. Updating what happened. Alamo manager contacted me to apologize. Offered me a free rental next time I am in town. Not sure when I will be back there but that was a nice offer. read more

I traveled to Omaha in March 2017. I thought I had a great experience with Alamo, and thought the nice, professional young man who assisted me at the counter provided excellent customer service. I often use Alamo when traveling, and planned to do so again next trip. Then yesterday, almost 6 months later - Alamo charged me $93. Just took it out of my bank account. After an hour of work time lost on the phone with Customer Service, a bill was finally emailed to me so that I could see what the charges were for. They charged me for the insurance (damage waiver) 6 months AFTER I rented the car, and returned it without damage. I NEVER take the insurance coverage when renting a car. The next Customer Service agent insisted that I had signed a contract agreeing to the insurance. Then why didn't you charge me for it at the time? After being transferred directly to Omaha - clicking through the phone prompts repeatedly (there is no choice to speak to a person.....) I finally made it back to Customer Service agent #3 - who was able to rectify the situation - and agreed that this was a very unusual business practice. read more

We rented a Dodge Journey in Omaha, NE, and it was great! Embarrassingly, we had never had (or heard of!) a proximity lock before though and thought the car just wasn't locking properly (we were standing close to it and checking that it locked properly, of course, it would open as we had the proximity key close to it). So, we called the number for the folks that help with mechanical problems. I spoke to Jess and she was fabulous, I described the problem and she explained that we had a proximity lock and how it worked. Jess was so professional, she listened and patiently explained what we needed to know. (Thanks, Jess!!!) We rented through Alamo in Omaha, NE, as well as in Sacramento, CA on this trip and had a very good experience both times with the vehicles and employees we came in contact with. read more

The worst customer service I have received from a rental car company. He was rude, disrespectful, and condescending. He tried to change the quoted rate and insurance. Then when I just had to get out of there and away from him I asked a favor to please help me find the freeway. I had a map/directions for once I got on the freeway, but did not know how to find the freeway from the airport. His reply, "Google it" and he turned his back toward me. I left and asked a kind, helpful man. Van, from Alamo at the airport has ruined Alamo's chances of me ever renting a car from the company again. I will also pass this onto friends and family before they travel. Additionally, the inside of the car smelled like five people had just been in there and smoked three packs of cigarettes each. There are clearly two "No Smoking" signs on the dash. Alamo obviously did not care enough to do something to rid the vehicle of the smell. read more

I have family in the Omaha area so frequently fly in and rent a car. This can be a bit dicey at holiday times, but I have learned that relying on Alamo usually works very well. Their website and its Insiders member program make it easy to find good pricing and to sign in online before leaving for the flight. Another reviewer spoke of Alamo as having the best pricing and friendly service. Add to that, they are efficient and you have my reasons for choosing them. I still always check a number of rental sites and they come up tops repeatedly. This applies to many other locations to which I travel during the year. I always bring a copy of my printout for price, especially when I have rented through a non-Alamo website like Hotwire so price is given but find the online check in feature on the Alamo website assures I pay for only what I want. I prefer this greatly to other companies where a pushy agent tries to up sell features. The Omaha rental counter is conveniently near the baggage area and the staff is accurate and friendly. In a short time I am on my way to the garage area (via a covered walkway, thankfully, as the area is windy and cold in winter.) The staff there gave me a choice of car models so I picked the one that was my own vehicle model which is nice when winter driving can be challenging. In the past, when it was extremely cold, they even had a warmed up car waiting for me. This year was lovely weather the day I arrived which reminded me of that extremely cold year. The car was well-equipped and gave me no problems. When I returned it, I recognized the man who checked me in from past flights and was glad to see they keep employees in their program. I asked and he had worked for them for a long time. This man was both friendly and efficient and it was early morning so helped my attitude, too. I find if long-time employees seem happy about their job, I have the benefit of their knowledge and experience. I like to patronize businesses when I believe their employees feel pleasure and loyalty to the company. read more

I rented a car through Hotwire on 10/26/15. My credit card was then charged by Alamo Rent-A-Car that day, in the amount of $203.11, which was the agreed upon grand total when I booked the rental. Inexplicably, a second charge from Alamo shows up on my credit card statement on 11/6/15 in the amount of $120.15. Upon contacting Alamo about this issue, I got an email back from Candi, who says, "due to modifying the rental under the conditions of the Hotwire rate, the rate can change." So, I contacted Hotwire and asked for a refund of the extra $120.15, and got an email back from Joshua, stating, "reservations cannot be changed, transferred or refunded." So, Alamo doesn't want to issue me a refund because the rate changed, and Hotwire doesn't want to refund the money because the reservation can't be changed, transferred, or refunded. I'm disputing the charge with my credit card company, and doing no further business with either Alamo or Hotwire. read more
