We came on recommendation of a friend and he did NOT steer us wrong! beautiful restaurant and reservations are highly recommended! The place is small and has tons and tons of photos covering the walls. We started with a plate of mixed sliced salamis and prosciutto. Perfect slices and perfect amount for two people. My husband had the pasta e fagioli which was probably one of the best we've ever tried... Strike that, it was the best! I went for a local dish of gnocchi ragu d'asino. In case you were wondering - asino = donkey. Slow cooked and tastes nothing like what you would think. If I didnt know what it was, I would have thought it was beef. My husband had the brasato al amarone for a second course. Food is tremendous and service is even better. If you only have 1 night in Verona, this is the place to go.

Wow! I don't use this lightly as our tour across Italy over two weeks presented some amazing food opportunities. Right from the greeting and recommendations the vibe from the wait staff delivering our cocktails and wine, to the waiter (wearing chef's attire) were so polite and accommodating. The food arrived (Eggplant Parmigiana for her and Wild Boar Ragout Parpadelle for me. Both were outstanding!! And to top it all off at the end of the night...we shredded the Sinofica Chocolate and the Semifreddo deserts (see below). Excellent choice and recomm NDA toon from our hotel!!

Great! Perfect! The best place for typical italian food in Verona! Started with a beef carpaccio which was tasty. A spaghetti with beans was great as well as the sliced beef as main course. The best part was the world's best tiramisu awarded special tiramisu of them! Hıghly recommended!

I would venture to say this is the best restaurant in Verona with very attentive wait staff, a chef who greets you at the table, a wonderful selection of wine and the world's best tiramisu. We walked past it twice thinking it was closed since the shades were down but fortunately my husband pulled on the door. Inside we discovered many locals enjoying lunch, ham hocks hanging from the ceiling to dry, a selections cheeses and an inviting atmosphere with walls filled with black and white photos (we think of famous Italians) and kitchen witches decorating the ceiling. To start we shared a prosciutto and salami plate where the meats were sliced paper thin along with a selection of fresh bread, pickled vegetables, fine olive oil and a glass of Valpolicella Superiore. I ordered the Guinea hen with asparagus and squash which was very tender and tasty. My husband had gnocchi which he said was light and airy and my daughter had the special of the day, beef cheeks which was very succulent We ended with their world famous tiramisu which just exploded in our mouths with flavor Eventhough this felt like a large midday meal which Italians enjoy I did not feel overly full but very satisfied and for all that we enjoyed the price was very reasonable.

Not cheap but delicious. Try the beef cheek braised in Amerone with oxtail. You won't regret it.

Osteria del Bugiardo was located in a good area so we made our way over to this wine bar. Service (2.5/5): Confusing system. There was a wait for a table but no hostess outside. We eventually talked to someone and she said that while there's no list, she will remember our faces and let us know when a table is ready. Not the most efficient system but we waited about 10 minutes to be seated at the bar. Our waiter took care of us pretty well after we got in. Ambiance (3.5/5): Your typical wine bar. Nice ambiance. The only downside for me is that seating at the bar consisted of bar stools. Without back support. Which I have always hated and which hurts my back. It's also pretty tight in there when they're at capacity. Drinks (4/5): Since this is a wine bar, you know what to order. We had glasses of rose. Not the heaviest pour but the price was solid. If you're not looking for wine, they also have things like Aperol Spritz. Food (4/5): You won't find hearty fare here but you will be able to munch on a lot of small plates. I'm talking things like mini sandwiches, croquettes, meatballs, salads, etc. Which is exactly what we did. We shared a couple of tapas between the two of us. It was filling and did the job. I wasn't stuffed but it was good and on the healthier side. Overall: Osteria del Bugiardo is one of the most popular restaurants on Yelp in Verona and it's located in the heart of the city.

It was quiet when we arrived at noon and then filled up quite a lot by the time we departed. Clearly, a restaurant for the locals. First course, a big pile of a pasta called "bigolini" which I've not seen before. It is like thick spaghetti with a rough surface. That is needed because the sauce on it was quite thick and another interesting taste - nettles. Definitely different. Second course, risotto made with a red wine reduction. Very flavorful and rich and the pasta was perfectly al dente. We'll definitely need to return to here for dinner! [Review 16980 overall - 185 in Italy - 496 of 2022.]

The restaurant is very cute (free WiFi) and homey feeling with an exposed brick interior and interesting decoration choices throughout the space. If you're so inclined there's also and outdoor patio area. Maybe we just ordered poor menu items but the food was underwhelming and not particularly standout. For our anti pasta course we went with the cured meat trio with polenta. The meats weren't particularly good and combined with the bland polenta it just wasn't a good combo. For our primi pasta course we had the bigoli in a horse (yes horse) bolognese sauce. Of our three dishes this was the best. For our main meat course with did horse cheeks braised in an Amarone wine sauce with polenta. I didn't like the polenta any better on our second dish and the cheek just didn't do it for me. I ended up leaving the bulk of the dish uneaten. All in all-maybe I just ordered poorly but I if I ever make it back to Verona this spot will be a pass for me.

They have a nice garden terrace as well as a lovely dining room inside (with AC!). Started with mixed grilled vegetables and the house cured salmon which came with a bit of salad. They do have some pasta and specials of the day, but we all had pizza, of which there is a rather wide selection to choose from. I had the melanzane which was definitely the most delicious eggplant pizza I've ever had. My husband had the "Trentino" with had wild mushrooms, Emmentaler and speck. And my son had the Capricciosa (mix of various things including prosciutto, olives, artichokes, etc.) I tasted them all and they were all great. House wine: $12.50 for a liter. Awesome deal, very drinkable and went well with the pizza. Service was attentive and efficient. I hope to return while I am staying in Verona.
