Highly recommend using Fido Runs…read more I get Fido Runs to come and run my dog, Lincoln, once a week. I'm typically not home, so Michael, the owner, comes in to grab my dog and handles the in and out. Sends me text updates while he has my dog, and sometimes send pictures or videos which is great! My dog loves him and now LOVES running. I completely trust Michael with Lincoln, which says a lot bc I don't trust many people with my dog! -Scheduling is easy. -Communication is exceptional. -Michael is a phone call/text away to answer any questions. -He even works alongside with the Houston Pets Alive animal shelter and runs some of their dogs!!

I'm so proud of the meaningful and life-saving programs that have been implemented at Rosenberg shelter since the city resolved to become No Kill! In fact, they have now been officially No Kill for more than a year now and that is a phenomenal accomplishment that we should all applaud! With Mara Hartsell as the director, Rosenberg Shelter has become a shining beacon of light in our area. She believes in and follows the proven No Kill model and treats every animal as an individual. The No Kill policies that she has put into place have resulted in complete transparency with the community. Her consistent monthly reports ensure that all citizens know the outcome of every animal in the shelters care. The creative marketing that the shelter uses on Facebook and other mediums is impressive and has proven to be a crucial element towards the increase in adoptions and fosters. Volunteers have flocked to Rosenberg Animal Shelter because they know that the animal they help take care of today, will still be alive tomorrow and that means the world to volunteers! I commend Rosenberg Animal Shelter for their hard work, compassion, customer service, and their dedication to life-saving programs! We were interviewed and asked a series of questions about our history, experience, and familiarity with dogs. We introduced the volunteer to our well trained 2 year old brittany mix, and that helped expedite the interview process. At that point we were told we were approved to adopt a boxer, and asked if we had looked at the dogs they currently had - we hadn't picked one out at that point. My S.O. had her heart set on a female brindle, and they said they didn't currently have any but would let us know if one came up. We were looking at several different boxer rescues all over Texas, and were preparing to go see one in Austin. The night before we were going to make the trip, we got a call from LSRB that a 1 yr old female brindle was being returned by a foster, and was located about 20 minutes away. We contacted the foster, hopped in the car, and a little over an hour later we were home with our newest furry family member. That was 10 years ago - Pepper has been the perfect fit for us, and we're SO grateful to LSRB and for all the work they do for this wonderful breed. If you're considering a boxer, this is a terrific group to work with to make that happen!

My experience here has been nothing less than absolutely stellar. I cannot recommend this place…read moreenough if you are looking to adopt a pet. I came in here to surrender a kitten that I found in a Wal-Mart parking lot that was in pretty bad condition. While I was here, I instantly fell in love with a 4 year old Amstaff that had been there since July. He was a little rough around the edges in terms of his appearance but his personality was so sweet & gentle. I knew right then and there that I couldn't leave him behind. The pup was heartworm positive and although I have owned plenty of dogs in the past, I didn't know much about heartworms. The shelter staff assured me that they would cover all the expenses of his heartworm treatment and that he would be just fine. I took him home for a long weekend sleepover and confirmed the following Monday that I would move forward with adoption. You can tell this shelter really cares about the animals that end up there because everyone I spoke to about my pup was beyond thrilled that he was finally getting adopted. You could hear the excitement in their voices. The morning I came back to finalize the adoption, the volunteer who greeted me was so happy about the news that she even gave me a big hug. It really touched me so much to know that despite the horrible things my dog has undoubtedly experienced prior to ending up at Sugar Land Animal Services, at least he was extremely well cared for and loved during his time there. During the sleepover, they provide all the food he will need as well as offered a crate, a leash, and even a harness. They feed their dogs Hill Science Diet, which is a great quality dog food. When you adopt your pet, they give you a folder of amazing coupons and vouchers that you can use immediately. They also provided me with the antibiotics for his heartworm pre-treatment and insisted that I call back if there were any issues or concerns. They really delivered on that promise because about a week after he came officially came home, he started vomiting frequently, had loud rumbles in his tummy, and stopped eating his food. I reached out to Sugar Land Animal Services immediately and they arranged for me to take him for a check up at a partnered animal hospital. Turns out he had giardia, which was treated with some antibiotics, probiotics, and special food. I just took my pup to another vet hospital for his heartworm treatment last week and the vet tech from Sugar Land Animal Services (I believe her name was Katy) was super diligent about keeping in touch with me the whole time regarding his status, updates, etc. I couldn't have had a better experience with adopting my dream dog! Big thank you to the entire staff here, everyone that I met and spoke with was super friendly and you can tell they really care about their job and about taking care of the animals. PLEASE ADOPT if you can, there were so many other sweet pups there that need good homes!

On April 11, I adopted a very sweet brown tabby cat through the organization, PetsAlive. I named…read moremy new cat Theodore and was told that Theo had been found on the streets and had recently had scabies, eye surgery and skin issues - all of which seemed to be healing nicely. I was never told of his extensive dental disease or that he had feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV). I noticed that Theo's energy level seemed a little low, but he was eating very well and didn't display any signs of digestive issues. I DID notice that his breath was very smelly, so I took him to my veterinarian. The long story made short is that Theo will have to have several teeth extracted and his length and quality of life could be affected because bloodwork showed that he is positive for FIV. I have requested that PetsAlive take care of the dental issues Theo has since I can't afford thousands of dollars for teeth to be extracted. My concern of permanently returning Theo to PetsAlive is that his cycle of being an unwanted rescue cat will continue. His life could be one of going from adoption site to adoption site and never being adopted because of his bad teeth and FIV diagnosis. Please be aware that, according to my veterinarian, there are several no kill shelters that DON'T test animals for FIV or leukemia. Before you adopt an animal, please ask if the animal has been thoroughly tested for diseases that could affect the animal's health and wellbeing.

I am sorry to read these negative reviews…read more After reading these reviews, I just had to share my experience. I have dealt with this company for many years now and have had only great experiences. I actually got my puppy from a friend who purchased him and then decided she was not ready to care for the pup. I immediately called John and and Georgia, to inquire about the pups records and paper work. They were both very responsive and I was able to get the paperwork for my pup, although I was not the original buyer. They were careful to understand me and my intentions with the puppy I indirectly acquired. I appreciated their concern for the puppy and my intentions as the new owner. Their precautions showed me that they truly care for their pups and what type of life they will have with their new owner. John and Georgia took great care to get me the puppy's records, and John continued to support me through my time in Houston. He came to my house to groom the yorkie I got from him, and my female I already had. Additionally, John would puppy sit both of my dogs for me when I went out of town, and for a reasonable price. He even groomed them for me before I would pick them up. My experience was so good, and my puppy grew into such a healthy beautiful adult, I went on to referred this company to 2 other individuals seeking yorkie puppies. One was my own mother, who lives in Florida and was able to travel to Texas for her puppy and another was her friend, who also traveled from Florida to get her puppy. They are both equally pleased with the yorkies they received, with one even thinking about going back for a second. Please see the pics of the three healthy Yorkies we received from this company and take the chance and experience their business first hand. I have nothing bad to say about this company. I have moved to NY since purchasing my pup and would go to John if i ever decided to get another. I highly recommend you get a yorkie from this breeder as my guy and and two others i know of have beautiful coats and are in great health.

I searched online and called 2 companies they Precious Paws of Houston was the 2nd company that I contacted. Looking at the website, they seem to have it all together. Here's the issues that I have experienced thus far. 1. I did not receive the puppy that I asked for. I wanted the smallest female of the litter at the time. She was the one they displayed to everyone which meant she was more expensive. The day that I was to receive my puppy. We had to continue to call and text. It wasn't until late at night I received my puppy. My back was against the wall and at this point I had to take the puppy that was given to me. Oh, the topper....I was told that her mother had bitten her umbilical cord to short the night that I picked my puppy up and they had gotten it fixed. 2. I never received the shot records or the AKC papers as stated on the website. There was always an excuse. They stated people only want papers if they a breeding. Well that contradicts their website. I told them the point of paying $2600.00 was to have a puppy that had papers and I WANT THEM. Georgia NEVER contacted after several calls and text. When I did receive a call after New Years, I was told about a shooting that happened to a family member but they were working on it. (If shooting is true, I hope that all is well.) STILL NOTHING YET!!! 3. The deposit paper work were always forgotten by Jacob or John. Therefore, I alway requested J.W initials to be placed on the money orders for my records. I still have them! 3. I took my puppy to the FIRST available vet appointment to get her seen that following Saturday. I wanted to ensure that I indeed had a healthy puppy after all of the craziness that I had experienced. Over all she was fine, she received her shots because I didn't proof, she received an antibiotic shot for the umbilical cord injury I was told about. We were clear to see family out of town. 4. One week and half later after coming back grom out of town. I finally was able to take her to see her primary vet. I gave them all of the paper work from the first vet that I had taken her to. I signed my puppy up for Banfield pet insurace the $54.00 policy to cover her spay, shot, exams, etc. Well here is what lead me to writting this post! My puppy finally reaching the point in which she could starting having a cycle. Well I did not want puppies and most importantly, I did not want to deal with a bleeding puppy. Her appointment was scheduled I took her in for surgery and I get a phone call from the vet stating that the wound on her tummy feels deep and longer than what they would expect from an umbilical injury. I told the vet the breeder told me that they fixed the umbilical cord injury and they did give me a report. She say's she would not know the whole story until they my puppy up. After 1 hour I received a call my puppy was out of surgery but the said news is the LYING BREEDERS SPAYED MY PUPPY PRIOR TO ME GETTING MY PUPPY. 1. This is terrible to put a puppy through. They say they love and stand by their pets but they don't. 2. I still had to pay for her surgery. 3. I'm still paying a monthy fee that included a spay. RUN..... DON'T BUY FROM THEM.... I HAVE TO PROTECT OTHERS.. My poor baby went through pain for nothing!! Karmyn Angel is fine now. I just pray that God have mercy on them because when He gets them they will held accountable.  Vengeance is mine, say's the Lord.

I was denied adopting a senior dog & all others because my apartment has stairs…read more I can understand being denied a senior due to stairs. But when I asked again about adopting a younger Basset Hound, I was flatly told that any application I submitted would be rejected simply because of those stairs. As someone who has owned and loved Basset Hounds for most of my life, I fully understand the challenges stairs could pose for a senior dog. But to automatically decline a dog a warm, loving home due solely to the presence of stairs is not only absurd--it's completely out of touch with what matters most: the welfare of the dog. This policy feels as senseless as it is backward. Instead of placing dogs in homes with experienced, caring owners, this rescue seems to be creating needless roadblocks. It makes me question if their priority is really the well-being of the animals.

There is an application form followed by a phone interview and finally a home visit to make sure that where the dog is going is a safe environment. They made sure I understood the specific personalities of Basset Hounds and took time to answer the questions I had. These wonderful people take in dogs that shelters would typically deem unadoptable. The boy I adopted was a senior, estimated about 10 years old, had been abused and was very thin due to neglect. He was rescued with his sister who had been a caged breeder dog her entire life and didn't even know how to walk on a leash. Basset Buddies drove close to Austin to rescue the pair and put them in foster homes and by the time I got my boy, he was on the mend, gaining weight and starting to trust people again. I decided to foster his sister and when she came to me after a few months at another foster home she had already learned manners to live inside a home and walk on a leash. These two babies continue to amaze me every day. After being treated so terribly their entire lives they are so willing to give and receive love. Had Basset Buddies not saved them I have no doubt they would have been victims of a kill shelter because of their ailments. Basset Buddies gave them a second chance at life. I follow their website and it always touches my heart to see the helpless dogs they take in and see them transform into happy, loved pets.
