They were a little discombobulated from the amount of customers they were serving that day so food took some time to get to us and they accidentally brought us a dish we didn't ask for, but it was otherwise a perfect breakfast. Lots of fresh herbs, vegetables and aromatic spices went into this meal. My favorite was the meat manaeesh. I will admit though that the fava beans (ful) was not my favorite. I found it to have far too much lemon in it, but it was still delicious

The tuum ("garlic fluff") was super garlicky and they brought out some delicious pillowy bread to go with it. This bread was awesome with the garlic, but elevated even more when combined with our soups... more on that later. I ordered a lunch special, which looked a bit pricey at roughly $17, but it was worth every penny. As to the sides, it was a generous portion of really tender rice/almonds and some of the best lentil soup I've ever had (and when I asked for extra lemon, the excellent server brought me a legit bowl of lemon wedges - made be very happy!). My young son didn't like his "lamb chili" so I inherited it by default - and it was fantastic. Not bland but not overly spicy, with some beans and big on the flavors. The main attraction was the chicken shawarma, though. A large pile of rotisserie chicken - this was the real deal shaved-off-a-rotisserie, not prepackaged nonsense. Some chunks were thick, some were thin and crispy, and the entire thing was amazing. There are 20 more things on this menu I'd like to try - I started with the chicken shawarma because it tends to be a "bellweather" of sorts for whether a place delivers with quality - so I'm going to be begging my wife to meet me there for lunch a few more times this summer. Perhaps we'll see you there!

Food was good as expected and my husband loved the candy. Can't wait to go back and really order some food. BTW someone came after us and after the open light was off and they let them in as well. Pretty good for younger people working and it being a Friday. Very impressed.

My wife came here a few months ago with her sister and ordered 3 pieces. Her only complaint was that their service was slow, amounting to 30 minutes of wait time for them. Now I'm not gonna let her experience influence my rating, but I will say they took a long time with my order as well. In their defense I requested 21 pieces of kanafeh divided into 6 different orders to go because I was gifting them to other people. They clearly didn't have enough kanafeh to fulfill my order on the spot and I could tell they were scrambling to make more. It was nice getting a new batch fresh, but it's clear that the weakest aspect of this business is efficiency. I felt bad because a few people came after me and also had to wait while they were making more in the kitchen. Getting this story out of the way, the dining area is beautiful, their coffee is excellent, and the staff are very courteous (although I had a hard time communicating my order to the cashier). But the most important thing is their kanafeh is delicious, and I hope they remain in business for years to come. I'm probably going to have to call in my future orders ahead of time if they are going to take this long to prepare. This is the only reason I didn't give them a perfect 5 star rating

I met my friend and his wife at this Middle Eastern eatery for lunch while I was in town. The…read moreSheikh Restaurant is located in a middle suite of a narrow Canton Township strip mall. Parking spaces were ample as the neighboring businesses weren't busy at all during this holiday week. The inside was not ornately decorated as some of the fancier places in the area that serve this type of cuisine. Between the booths and tables, my estimate was that the seating capacity was around 50 customers. The menu booklet contained several pages of offerings across the categories of appetizers, soups, salads, sides, wraps/subs, traditional dishes, and seafood/chops. For beverages, there were juices, smoothies, coffee, tea, and soft drinks. My friends each chose a different type of wrap for their meal. I picked one of the entrees from the traditional dishes which was the Gallaba over Hummus. In my hometown, I don't see gallaba as often as items like shish kabobs and shawarma. My order consisted of a choice of meat (lamb was my pick) sauteed with green peppers, onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, and carrots with special spices added. The mixture was served on a bed of hummus with my choice of rice on the side. A cup of chicken rice soup (instead of lentil) also came with this traditional dish. While we were waiting for our food, a basket of warm pita bread and a cup of garlic spread were provided. The spread was very pungent so I used it sparingly. An extra dinner salad was mistakenly added which I saved for leftovers. The gallaba was essentially a Middle Eastern version of a meat stir fry. The pieces of lamb were tender and not gamey. The spices added flavor but not saltiness. Between the bread, soup, rice, and gallaba, it was a generous portion size that also became leftovers for later. For the quality and price of my meal, I gave a four star rating for our visit to The Sheikh Restaurant.
