A waitress dressed in theme led us to a nearby table and provided us with menus. Drinks consisted of various teas and home made smoothies..I can't remember there being alcohol on the menu, perhaps I was still feeling fragile from the night before? Himself ordered a beetroot concoction of some sort while I had their Moroccan fresh lemonade followed by a special tea that had so many various spices in it , it was like a party in my mouth. The menu as to be expected, full of traditional Moroccan dishes with a tempting offer of three course meal for under £15. I normally shy away fro m things like this as the quality tends to go down. Impulsively we went for it.. For starters he ordered the falafel while I went for this filo pastry with olive and cheese served with chutney. For mains I had the lamb with caramelized fruit while he had the chicken tangine. For dessert there was just two options.. baklava or pancakes.. we went for the baklava thinking it would be lighter. When my starter arrived i did think " Oh no here is a generic frozen spring roll" however biting into it changed my mind immediately. It oozed with tasty cheese packed with herbs and olives, it tasted fresh and homely. I personally find falafel boring but it did taste okay..still preferred mine though. The tangines were both cooked to perfection.. the meat was tender and falling off the bone into a spicy pool of goodness. I poured the side plate of cous cous into the lamb to mop up the tasties. Finally the baklava, most of the pieces were good containing pistachio but some were dry and tasted like hay. To be honest by this point I was quite happy with everything else and full so I could not grumble. Overall I found it really reasonably price, the service friendly and the right level of attentiveness. The decor was fab and everything made me feel like i was back in Marrakesh again. Highly recommended. Yes I would come back. Only thing I can think to improve is the dessert section?

Just in an ordinary people watching kind of way.The food places on this street are really great. There really is something for everyone. The last time I ate here I went to La Parilla Mexican restaurant. That was sensational. This time I wanted something a little different. As we walked up Bold Street we passed a Moroccan restaurant called the Kasbah. The menu looked decent so we booked a table for the evening. The thing that sealed the deal was that there where little fez hats on the dinner tables for you to wear while you eat. I love a hat so that was me sold! Located only a stones throw away from Liverpool Central Parkway Station you will find the Kasbah. A small but rather cosy restaurant with bench seating on one side and tables dotted around the other. It's quirky interior houses pictures of well known faces comically donning fez hats, while multi coloured lamps hang from the ceiling. Small scatter cushions adorned the furniture and Moroccan market music dominated the PA system. The smells where good and the customers seemed happy at first glance which is always a reassuring sign. We where seated by our waiter and presented with the menu. All the meat here is HALAL. There's plenty to choose from and it all looked good. Our table was opposite the open kitchen grill which is always I think a good sign. If you can see into the kitchen and what is going on then it adds to the experience plus the chef knows he can't get away with anything. I'd like to say at this point we both donned our burgundy coloured, felt covered, tassel swinging fez hats. But we didn't. Or should I say my other half didn't. I did. It was one of the main reasons I was there for goodness sake! So there I was looking like a cross between a barmy 20th century aristocrat on his jollies in the dessert in my tweed jacket, French cuffed shirt and fez hat. And a complete wally. The drunk uncle (I wasn't drunk) that always turns up to the wedding you never wanted to go to in the first place because he was going to be there! We ordered our drinks, water for the table and a pot of Moroccan mint tea to accompany it. The tea was hot and refreshing. We ordered hummus as a starter with roasted lamb chunks on top with fresh bread. It was delicious. Hummus that I've had in the past has been smelly, gloopy mush. The kind of thing you'd find lurking in the depths of a soho clap clinic. So I was a little apprehensive at ordering this but I have no regrets whatsoever. In fact if this had been the last thing I ever ate I'd have been happy. The hummus was creamy and smooth not a repugnant smell anywhere to be found. It still had a slightly nutty texture but was pleasant and satisfying. It was served with roasted cubes of lamb marinated in Moroccan spices and olive oil. Scooped up in the warm crunchy bread together it tasted heavenly. This was a big sharing starter but you can have it as a main course if you wish? Personally I don't think it would fill you up just on it's own, you'd probably want a side order of fries with it or perhaps a side salad? The one thing I noticed when looking round was that no one was drinking alcohol! I looked over at the small bar area and I couldn't see a spirit optic in sight or a draught ale pump. One can only assume that the owners are practicing Muslims so adhere to their religious teaching of no alcohol. This is not a criticism it's a breath of fresh air. On to the main course. When in Rome you do as the Romans' do or did? Whatever that is or was? So when in Morocco or at the very least a Moroccan restaurant in an English city centre, you must do what the Moroccans do. Which in this case was order two lamb tagines! Slow roasted lamb shoulder with caramelised prunes, roasted almonds and apricots. Again served with fresh Moroccan bread and a delicious coconut couscous. This was unbelievably good. If you could serve up every good feeling in the world in a bowl this would be it. The lamb was so tender you only had to tap it and it would fall off the bone. It was so tender that you could probably just ask it nicely and it would fall off the bone. The flavours where out of this world. The juiciness of the prunes and the apricots really gave it that extra sumptuous luxury. The crunch of the roasted almonds gave it an incredible texture and the whole thing just came together beautifully. If there's anything in the world that was going to rock this Kasbah then this was it. Once we'd finished our mains we moved onto dessert. We both had the baklava which was only small but quite adequate. It was sweet, crunchy, nutty and sticky. A perfect end to a perfect meal.

The fixed price option was moderately price but didn't particularly like the starters, so we decided to have a mixed platter of ham, cheese, 2 different pates accompained by red onion relish & pickles, from the al a carte. This proved to be a generous portion and we all tucked in and enjoyed this with french bread & butter. The main course we chose were salmon omelette for my wife & the chicken pane with french fries for my son and myself. To finish my wife had the selection of ice creams and my son and myself had the Belgian waffle with chocolate sauce and Vanilla ice cream. The whole occasion was relaxed and the food was delicious. The added attraction was the constant flow of wedding parties using the Town Hall steps for photograph! I ordered a birthday meal at 17:36 via Uber Eats, it arrived at 18:17 STONE COLD and with some items undercooked. I initially complained to Uber Eats who blamed the restaurant. I called and spoke to the manager, Charlie, today who pushed back the complaint to Uber Eats. He didn't offer any form of compensation for 2 cold inedible mains and for the undercooked side I would have to come into o the restaurant and spend more money. Nor a sincere apology for a ruined birthday meal. We spent £46 on a cold inedible/unenjoyable meal. I have also had to spend several hours being pushed from pillar to post as no one takes responsibility for fixing the issues. Customer service is non existent. Working as an Event Manager and having been recently venue based in Carnaby Street I can absolutely say I would NEVER leave a repeat customer so unhappy. Word of mouth from unhappy customers is extremely damaging. Previously I would have been happy to recommend this venue but due now primarily to the managers handling of my complaint this will now not be the case. A customer with a ruined birthday is not going to forget quickly. In a cost of living crisis, a customer willing to spend with you should be appreciated.

From my first visit I was instantly welcomed by the owner who is only too happy to let you try any of the exotic looking dishes on offer before you buy. You can certainly tell they are passionate about the food here.... you can taste it in every mouth full. They really know they're stuff and can reassuringly explain the ingredients of their dishes, offer serving suggestions or if you are hungry enough can give you a little taste of everything if you wish. You can take away or eat in, there are only five or six tables if you do choose to eat in so it's rather cosy; however this adds to the charm of the place. The falafel is the best I have ever tasted and if you want something filling and tasty on the go then I would suggest one of their flat bread wraps, which with any 2 side salads for about £3 - is about as excellent value for money as you can get for fresh food. There is a large selection of cold salads as well as hot dishes including vegetarian options, all the dishes I have tried so far I have enjoyed tremendously. Normally this is the kind of place that would outshine most similar establishments in Didsbury, Chorlton and the like which why it's even more exciting that we have something to sparkle on this side of the M60. I've been meaning to try it for a fair while, and finally got chance recently. The building itself is one of Bolton's grand older buildings with high ceilings and arched windows, but when you step inside it's somewhat surprising. I think part of me expected a tapas bar to be more Spanish "themed"like other tapas venues I've visited, but the decor is a combination of bright simple modernity, and... budoir? Elegant rustic iron sconces and lamp shades give that touch of Spain, but the crushed purple velvet benches and snow leopard print chairs seem a bit of an odd choice! However, it's clean, functional, and welcoming. We are seated and given the menus by a friendly member of staff. We are happy to see that there is an "all you can eat" tapas option, which is always nice, so we opt for that! The menu is left with us so that we can choose from up to any 3 dishes at a time, but reorder as many times as we'd like. Instead of listing each of the tapas we ordered, I'll simply share the photos here on Yelp. The tapas came in good time, and every one of them was hot, fresh, and delicious. Special props go to some specific things we commented on, including the fantastic citrus taste that came with the Bacalao Frito (breaded white fish with tartare), the sheer tenderness of the Costillas de Cerdo (BBQ ribs), and the incredibly rich flavours of the Chorizo al Vino (Spanish spicy sausage in red onions and red wine). It also allowed us to try "Chicken Bastilla" for a first time, which is shredded chicken in a crispy pastry, but then topped with cinnamon and sugar! It's apparently a Moroccan staple, but this was our first time trying it, and although it was a very strange idea to get used to, it worked surprisingly well! Like a cross between the end of your dinner and the start of your dessert! The service is friendly and efficient without being intrusive, and the value is superb. Even if we didn't go for the 'all you can eat' option, the prices were great, with lunch specials also available. As we paid I managed to embarrass myself by messing up with the card payment machine and accidentally giving a 10p tip, making me look like the stingiest tipper on the face of the planet, but despite this, the staff member who took our payment didn't let any sort of reaction show on his face. Truly professional! I noticed this on the bill as I was walking out the door, and so turned and left a bit of a better tip in change at the bar. The one thing I will say is that I will be giving a much bigger and more deserved tip next time I visit, as I will most definitely be returning, and hopefully will have enough room to try a dessert! They have a decent wine menu, though you can only order house red/white by the glass so if you're not planning on drinking lots you're limited for choice (minus points). Food wise, some of the dishes were great - the Chorizo De Vino was superb - potentially the best Chorizo dish I've had at a Tapas restaurant as I feel a lot of places over power the sauce or dressing with Chorizo - Tapaz didn't (plus points). The rest of the food left a bit to the imagination, not bad by any stretch, just average and average can't receive higher than 3 stars in my opinion. Calamari was decent, and the chicken dish (I've forgotten the name) was fairly good however the Patatas - both Bravas and Pesto - were way below the normal standard I'd expect. Tapaz is a decent restaurant, and with the competition surrounding it, probably the best of the bunch, but I think that goes more to showing the lack of good food in Bolton as appose to Tapaz's quality. It wasn't cheap but it was quality food, value for money and I had the feeling the table was ours for the night if we wanted it and children were happily catered for. I could envisage having a large family gathering for an alternative Sunday lunch here as it was a warm welcoming environment.
