Lovely upscale ambience and decent food sums up this place. I really appreciate good authentic Infian food when traveling and Al Hamra checked all the boxes. We were adventurous and ordered spice level 8- Please don't go beyond 5....

We were pleasantly surprised by delicious Indian cuisine. My husband and I came in on a Tuesday night and enjoyed delicious wings as a starter. We ordered tiki masala and vegetable korma as entree and shared a Taj Mahal beer. Our server was friendly and attentive. Their food was hot and tasty. Indoor and outdoor dining. Lots of parking out front. We will be back soon!

Best curry in Scottsdale. Go here on a weekly basis. Being from England curry is important to us and this is the best in the area.

Hello Everyone: This is a review for Royale India's new…read morelunch buffet. The date of service was 10.10.25 which was about three days into their grand opening for lunch. The cost for the buffet is just about $20 per person - but worth it! My review is as follows: What a lovely surprise to be seated at a table with a black fabric napkin and table linens. Typically, you only see this for a dinner meal, so to have during lunch was quite nice. Roger and David worked today - both did a very nice job. David ensured our water was full and offered us anything from the bar or to make him aware of anything else we may want. Because the restaurant is still working on the buffet signs so you know what you are eating, Roger took us to the buffet area and went through each item on the buffet in detail so we could make educated choices. To the right of the buffet was a table with Indian Tea (black tea with milk) and sugar included in the buffet price. For desert on the cold buffet they had rice pudding and mango (on the right on the cold buffet photo), but I ate so much for lunch trying all the hot items items, I will have to review those next time. You have a choice of plain or garlic naan with the buffet. This comes out of the kitchen, hot and freshly made. The naan was excellent, crisp on the outside, yet pull-apart doughy in the inside. Five Stars! The Raita was excellent - nice and thick. Roger said they have been perfecting this recipe. I think they got it ..... Five Stars! There are also mint and tamarind sauces on the cold buffet for your naan. The mint condiment was a little acidy for my taste for some reason, but it was refreshing. The Pickled Veggies were good, a little salty, but good. Rice choices included biryani rice or basmati rice. I nice touch to offer either on the buffet (most buffets only offer basmati rice). In the hot buffet, there were several items I tried: Fried Chickpeas - good, not my favorite, a little dry, but I can see where people might enjoy these dipped in one of the sauces. The Chicken Tikka Masala and the Butter Chicken both had tender cubes of chicken within the sauce, but the sauces were a little too similar for my taste and could be slightly thicker. Both dishes were good, but one did not "stand out" from the other (flavor). Vegetable Korma - was a pleasant surprise and actually turned out to be my favorite. Excellent dish. Five Stars! It was a nice and thick with loads of veggies. The Yellow Dal - was a little too thin (consistency) for my taste, it was good, but could have used more lentils in the sauce to thicken it up a bit and have a bit more depth of flavor. Lamb - the lamb dish was quite nice. The sauce was nice and dark and thick (not runny on the plate), and the lamb was fork-tender. I would categorize this as "very good" if you enjoy lamb this is definitely worth a try. The Palak Paneer was excellent. The spinach was not too runny, the cottage cheese was just firm enough and held up in the sauce nicely. I recommend the spinach sauce be slightly thicker when served, but I do recommend it. The Tandoor Chicken had fresh lemon and freshly cut white onions in the buffet tray to add to your plate. While people enjoy tandoor items on a buffet, I wonder if it is worth restaurants trying to keep chicken moist for hours on end during the course of the buffet. The flavor was good, but as would be expected the chicken was slightly dry, there is simply no way to keep it freshly moist. Tandoor is meant to be eaten when the dish is completed and ready to serve. I will leave it up to Roger to decide how he wants to manage this moving forward. Some of the hot dishes would benefit from more complex Indian layers of flavoring. I am not inferring they need to be spicer/hotter. Rather, the depth of flavor and different spices which set each sauce/dish apart could be slightly improved upon. Roger said he is monitoring how spicy or not customers would like the buffet items, so I am sure this will get sorted out over time. I understand buffets are tricky because you have to put out a dish which will appeal to the majority of the customers. NOTE: Roger offered if we wanted something "spicer" he would try to accommodate us, but I prefer not to have "heat" take away from the overall layers of flavors in a dish. Rather, use of ingredients, the amount of each ingredient and simmering should do the trick without making a dish so spicy all you feel and taste is "heat". If you leave this buffet hungry it is your own fault! LOL! I recommend giving it a try, for the price you are offered all the staples of an enjoyable Indian meal. We look forward to returning for lunch again, unannounced, to see how Roger and his team adjust flavors and sauces in the future. Also, I will be trying the desert options to see how they stand up to my review. Thank you Roger and David for a pleasant meal today!

The overall selection is solid, though as a vegetarian, I felt the options could be expanded a bit, especially with more appetizers like Gobi Manchurian and a few additional curry choices. The biggest downside was the wait for certain items. When dosa ran out, it took about 45 minutes to be replenished--by then, we had almost finished eating. Naan was another disappointment. The available naan was stale and very hard, and fresh batches never arrived, so we ended up leaving without having any. This was around 1:15 PM, and the place wasn't even particularly crowded. That said, the ambiance is fantastic--modern, clean, and thoughtfully designed. The decor really stands out. Service was attentive and friendly throughout, which added to the experience. It's also nice that chai is included in the buffet. Despite a few operational issues, the food quality and atmosphere make this place worth visiting. With some improvements in consistency and replenishment, it has the potential to be even better.

If you are looking for a mild non- spice version... this buffet may not do well for your tummy. *Located in a strip mall area and so ample parking. *Clean, ample seating and good service. *This has moved up to my top choice for an Indian food buffet in the Phoenix area.

A girlfriend and I had a lovely patio meal on a quiet weekday, and I finally took some photos and committed to writing a nice review. Truth be told, this is at least my third visit so it's due. Friendly counter guy was patient and answered our many questions. I chose my favorite standard order, the chicken tikka masala with rice. After getting more details about the preparation I decided to try the mango side salad, too. I could not have been happier with my choices. The Tikka masala has a lovely ratio of meat to curry sauce and was a mild spice. Very creamy with tender chicken fully hot all the way through. The basmati rice is fluffy and seasoned perfectly the compliment the masala. The surprise star of this meal was the side mango salad! Tons of fresh spring mix lettuce, chunks of mango, shredded carrots and a delightful sweet dressing. It was very bright, with perfectly ripened fruit and crisp greens. This is not a small side salad, so it is definitely a high value bargain, and could easily be a meal with a protein added. GF ordered a paneer wrap with fries. She raved about the flavor, took two bites more bites of the wrap and then picked at the fries and confessed it was all going home for her son. GLP1 appetite? Anyway she ended up ordering a mango side salad for him to go, after we finished eating. I did taste a chunk of the paneer at her urging, the cheese was in small cubes, with a flavorful sauce. I prefer chicken myself. When the to go mango salad was ready, friendly counter guy brought it out to our patio table, and had a nice chat with us. An articulate upbeat good ambassador for the company, he was helping at our location for the day and was very positive about the Tikka Shack brand's future. I fully agree!

At least on a Tuesday when you can get your choice of chicken, tikka or butter tikka plus rice and a drink and plain naan for around 12 bucks. They were not that busy when we came in around 4 PM. But it still took them over 20 minutes to get us our food Togo. You order from a screen - although the team is right there to answer any questions. They didn't greet me and were not friendly. They seem to be pretty standoffish and definitely not trained in a Customer Service. We tried both the butter, chicken and the tikka chicken. And got one regular naan and paid $1 extra extra try the garlic naan. I absolutely love garlic. And And would never pay the dollar extra again for the garlic naan it was not very good and not worth the up charge The butter chicken was surprising and ended up being my favorite over the regular tikka chicken. We also tried the masala fries (the fries themselves are slightly spicy but when you put the masala sauce on them, it tones it down) , which were incredible!!! And the coconut curry wings. It would've been nice to be warned that the coconut curry wings are extremely spicy. It did not mention that anywhere, and I was not expecting to have that level of heat. Also got the glub juman for desert. Don't sleep on this. It is so good!!! I should mention that for their drink selection, soda, wise they only have one of those Coke freestyle machines which I find disgusting (once you see what they look like on the inside and how they're never cleaned you would agree too) . I opted for one of the three teas that they had instead in a separate fountain thing. Overall, we will definitely be back just might order ahead of time on the app since the service is so slow... or rather non existent.
